NEWBURGH – City Police in Newburgh are investigating a Sunday evening assault on a woman at Tulum Mexican Restaurant on Lake Street, first responders at the scene said. It was unclear if she was attacked inside or outside the eatery.

The victim sustained lacerations to her leg and arm and was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

A front window was smashed during the incident and employees were covering it up. 

State Police assisted at the scene. It was not immediately known if anyone was charged in the incident.
