POUGHKEEPSIE – Following three days of equipment breakdowns, Poughkeepsie DPW crews were out trying to open streets in the city on Wednesday night.  Equipment, including the large snowblower attachment on a loader, and several trucks out of service, have hampered the city’s efforts since Monday.

On Wednesday night, the DPW workers, supplemented by dump trucks from outside contractors, were working in the lower Main Street area, including Perry and Bridge Streets, to get the snow removed from the roadways.

The work is expected to continue for the rest of the week.
