FITCHBURG — Area astrology author and Llewellyn Worldwide contributor Sally Cragin will discuss lunar phases and sign copies of “Llewellyn’s Moon Sign Almanac 2026” from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Dragon’s Leyr, 875 Merriam Ave.

Cragin writes the annual “New and Full Moon Forecasts” featured in the popular almanac, offering guidance on how lunar cycles can influence timing and daily life.

“People often notice feeling more scattered during a full moon or uncertain during a new moon,” said Cragin. “Because the moon governs the tides, its phases can also help guide decisions — from when to clean or host a gathering — to when to quit a bad habit and stick with it.”

Melissa Bernier, Dragon’s Leyr owner, said the event marks the shop’s first book signing.

“Dragon’s Leyr is a creative gift shop with items for all ages, including beauty and spa products,” Bernier said. “We are thrilled to welcome Sally, who has been writing about astrology for many years.”

Cragin is the author of “The Astrological Elements” and “Astrology on the Cusp” — both published by Llewellyn Worldwide and translated and sold internationally, including in India, Russia, Canada, the British Virgin Islands, the Czech Republic, and Estonia.

She teaches writing, folklore, and New England history at Fitchburg State University and is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in the Sentinel and Enterprise, The Boston Globe, Boston Phoenix, and other publications.
