Downtown skating rink waiting for colder temps

LEOMINSTER — A red stop sign currently on display at the ice-skating rink in Monument Square instructs people to stay off it for now.

The city’s Department of Public Works (DPW) puts up the public rink every winter and once it freezes solid thanks to colder temps and it is safe to use, a green ‘go’ sign will go up and everyone is welcome to enjoy the winter activity.

Longtime DPW Highway Construction Foreman and lifelong city resident Kevin Iannacone and his hardworking team dedicate many hours constructing the wood-lined rink that is twice as big as the one that used to go up.
