POUGHKEEPSIE – Frankie Flowers, commonly referred to as “Santa” in the Poughkeepsie area, is being extradited to Connecticut, to answer a fugitive warrant for his arrest.
Flowers, 53, was arraigned in Dutchess County Court yesterday morning on several charges, including felony strangulation, stemming from a December domestic violence incident with the mother of one of his children. After pleading not guilty, bail was set and he was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
After posting bail Monday afternoon, he was ordered to appear in Poughkeepsie City Court for arraignment on the Connecticut warrant. He was then remanded back to jail without bail until a hearing could be held in Dutchess County Court.
At Tuesday afternoon’s hearing, Flowers waived extradition and was ordered to be held without bail in the county jail until Connecticut officials arrange to take custody of him.
