LUNENBURG — Fans of historical fiction are welcome to a virtual talk with bestselling novelist Heather B. Moore as she discusses her latest release, “Julia: A Novel Inspired by the Extraordinary Life of Julia Child” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Public Library, in collaboration with the Lunenburg Public Library, and other libraries throughout Massachusetts.

This Zoom event will focus on Moore’s novel, which explores the untold story of Julia Child’s life before she became a world-famous culinary icon.

During the program, Moore will also discuss her writing and research process, as well as surprising discoveries she encountered while delving into Child’s early years.

“I’m looking forward to sharing insights into the extraordinary life of Julia Child,” said Moore. “I’ve spoken to book clubs and libraries across the country, and I love hearing from readers and Julia Child enthusiasts. Julia was an inspiration to our nation. She faced many hurdles in her life but did so with grace and humor. As an author, I was fascinated by her publishing journey.”

Child’s first cookbook was published when she was 49, and she began working on “The French Chef” television show when she was 51.

“Julia believed it was never too late to follow her passion, and never too late to find a new passion,” Moore said.

Signed copies of “Julia: A Novel Inspired by the Extraordinary Life of Julia Child” may be purchased through Aesop’s Fable, a Holliston bookstore, by requesting a signed book at checkout.
