PORT JERVIS – Mayor Dominic Cicalese took the oath of office for the second time on New Year’s Day, marking the beginning of his second two-year term leading the City of Port Jervis.
Cicalese said the city has seen many accomplishments in recent years.
“When I first took office, I promised to lead with integrity, honesty and a genuine commitment to the city and its residents,” he said. “Over the past two years, we have faced challenges none of us could have ever predicted but we also made real progress. We have strengthened our city finances, protected our natural resources, and kept moving forward, and made tough decisions even when the path wasn’t easy.”
In the new year, the mayor said they will continue to upgrade the city’s infrastructure and promote its economic development and growth.
