U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) launched Operation Hawkeye Friday, striking 70+ ISIS targets in Syria with 100+ precision munitions—killing or detaining 23 terrorists—after a December 13 ambush that left two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter dead, with President Trump warning terrorists: “You will be hit harder than you have ever been hit before.”

TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) released footage Friday night of Operation Hawkeye, a massive airstrike campaign targeting 70+ ISIS sites in Syria with over 100 precision munitions, following a deadly December 13 ambush that killed two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter.

“Tonight, U.S. and Jordanian forces struck 70+ ISIS targets in Syria with 100+ precision munitions. Peace through strength,” CENTCOM announced on X.

A Decisive Response

The strikes—supported by Jordanian fighter jets—were retaliation for the ISIS attack that also injured multiple U.S. service members. Since the ambush, 10 operations in Syria and Iraq have killed or detained 23 ISIS operatives, CENTCOM confirmed.

“This operation is critical to preventing ISIS from inspiring terrorist plots and attacks against the U.S. homeland,” said Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander. “We will continue to relentlessly pursue terrorists who seek to harm Americans and our partners across the region.”

Trump’s Warning to Terrorists

President Trump issued a stern warning to ISIS and its allies: “I am hereby announcing that the United States is inflicting very serious retaliation, just as I promised, on the murderous terrorists responsible. We are striking very strongly against ISIS strongholds in Syria… All terrorists who are evil enough to attack Americans are hereby warned—YOU WILL BE HIT HARDER THAN YOU HAVE EVER BEEN HIT BEFORE IF YOU, IN ANY WAY, ATTACK OR THREATEN THE U.S.A.”

Trump also noted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s cooperation, stating: “The Government of Syria… is fully in support.”

A Message of Vengeance

Fox News host Pete Hegseth framed the strikes as “a declaration of vengeance”: “Today, we hunted and we killed our enemies. Lots of them. And we will continue… If you target Americans—anywhere in the world—you will spend the rest of your brief, anxious life knowing the United States will hunt you, find you, and ruthlessly kill you.”

The Broader Campaign

CENTCOM revealed that U.S. and partner forces have conducted 80+ operations in the past six months, eliminating terrorists who threaten U.S. and regional security.

What’s Next?

The Operation Hawkeye strikes mark a new phase in the U.S. fight against ISIS, with Trump’s administration signaling zero tolerance for attacks on Americans. As ISIS strongholds crumble, the message is clear: “The U.S. will not back down.”

The footage—showing explosions lighting up the Syrian night—serves as a visual warning to terrorists worldwide: America’s retaliation is swift, precise, and devastating.
