CARMEL – Former Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy whose mother Judge Judy Sheindlin is renowned worldwide, will soon be following in his mom’s footsteps.
Levy, a former resident of the Town of Southeast before relocating out west, will be starring in his own reality television program next year, Adam’s Law, that is being produced by Sheindlin’s Queen Bee Productions and CBS Media Ventures.
Levy served two terms as Putnam’s chief prosecutor, losing to the county’s current District Attorney Robert Tendy a decade ago.
Judge Judy has been a TV staple since 1996, when she first began starring in the reality court show ‘Judge Judy,’ which aired for 25 years prior to filming its last episode in 2021.
While Levy will host the show, his 83-year-old mother will serve as an executive producer.
The 57-year-old Levy is no stranger to television, having been a judge on Amazon’s Tribunal Justice and Justice on Trial. The former Putnam resident followed in his mom’s footsteps and became a lawyer after graduating from Hofstra University in 1992.
Sheindlin, a former resident of Lake Oscawana in Putnam Valley, described her son as a “spectacular lawyer. As a judge, his search for the truth is unparalleled. In a justice system where the truth is often diminished by the lazy or inept, Adam is the gold standard for judicial excellence.”
During Levy’s tenure as district attorney, Judge Judy was frequently seen in Putnam County. She was named the world’s highest-paid TV host in 2018, after earning $147 million and also received a lifetime achievement award at the Daytime Emmys the following year.
