POUGHKEEPSIE – Frank “Frankie” Flowers, son of the late John Flowers, the beloved community member, has caused another organization to sever ties with the John Flowers Community Events (JFCE) .  Flowers, 52, was arrested and arraigned on December 10th on the misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and endangering the welfare of a child following a domestic incident with the mother of his most recent child, near his residence on Park Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie. As a result, has ended its support of the annual “,” which has taken place for several years in Poughkeepsie.

Dutchess County and ThinkDIFFERENTLY join a growing list of sponsors who have severed ties with JFCE following the arrest of Flowers on violent felony domestic violence charges from incidents with another of his children’s mothers in Connecticut in 2023 and the arrest in the Town of Poughkeepsie this month.

Asked if the county would continue supporting the JFCE, Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino’s office said “While Dutchess County’s team has assisted in making the John Flowers Old Fashion Easter Egg Hunt accessible for all children for several years, we can no longer support this event as long as Frankie Flowers remains involved, given these serious allegations.”  ThinkDIFFERENTLY was established in 2015 by former County Executive Marc Molinaro to create a supportive and welcoming environment for those living with disabilities. Serino’s office vowed to continue with the ThinkDIFFERENTLY mission, saying “Dutchess County remains committed to making our community inclusive and accessible, and we will continue our efforts to help make other popular community events welcoming for children and families with disabilities.”

Family Services, the largest provider of domestic violence victim assistance in Dutchess County had a longstanding relationship with John Flowers and continued the relationship with Frankie and his sister, Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers, after John Flowers passed away.  After Frank Flowers faced criminal proceedings related to domestic violence in Connecticut, Family Services quietly ended their relationship with KFCE, by informing Mayor Flowers that the agreement was being terminated on December 31, 2023.

With Flowers once again facing domestic violence charges, Mental Health America of Dutchess County, known as MHA Dutchess, Romeo Auto Group, and Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati all severed ties with JFCE and/or Frankie Flowers this week.  .
