LIBERTY – The annual Holiday Market at the Liberty Mall concluded its run this past weekend.  There were over 35 local artisans and a large selection of food, attracting several dozen holiday shoppers.  Lori Solomon-Longobardi, the owner of Casa di Longobardi, a restaurant in the mall, said that there were more vendors and shoppers this year compared to past years.

“We jury a lot of the vendors that come in.  They can’t be super expensive, but they have to be.  Mostly everything has to be handmade, nothing imported, to really give the flavor of the Sullivan Catskills.”

The market was put together by the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association, Casa de Longobardi, and the Chamber of Commerce.  The mall provided a successful, spirited venue for local commerce and holiday cheer.  She talked about the shoppers’ feedback.

“I think the public loves it.  I mean, I think if you look around, the price point is very reasonable, and I mean, you see a lot of people buying, and I’ve always heard positive feedback from this that people really enjoy it.”
