PRINCETON — Wachusett Mountain ski resort recently opened for the season and the new $15 million high speed six pack lift being constructed there will officially launch on Dec. 19 with a ribbon cutting open to the public.
According to the Tuesday, Dec. 2 snow report three out of eight lifts and five out of 27 trails are currently open with a base depth of 10 to 12 inches of snow. Those snow totals only increased as the foggy, low visibility day went on — a snowstorm was expected to dump upwards of 10 inches across the region, resulting in school closures in Fitchburg, Leominster, the Wachusett Regional School District, and other towns and cities including Worcester.
