HUDSON, N.H. — A Danville, New Hampshire man is facing a series of charges after police say he broke into a Hudson home, assaulted two people, and fled the scene before being arrested a few hours later.

The Hudson Police Department identified the suspect as Joshua Deveau, 38, who allegedly forced his way into the residence through a secured rear entrance at about 9 p.m. Saturday. Police said Deveau caused property damage during the break-in and assaulted two individuals inside before fleeing.

The suspect was quickly identified as Deveau and a search was launched.

According to police, by midnight, the Hudson Police — working with officers from Danville, Sandown, and Hampstead — located Deveau near his home in Danville and took him into custody.

Police pointed out that Deveau was already out on bail for a witness tampering case out of Manchester, New Hampshire District Court at the time of the burglary.

Deveau was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending his upcoming arraignment in Nashua, N.H. District Court.

Deveau faces a pile of charges, including two counts of burglary (Class A felony), three counts of simple assault, two counts of criminal mischief, as well as harassment, and breach of bail.

In a press release announcing the arrest, the Hudson Police expressed gratitude to the assisting agencies and confirmed the investigation into the case is ongoing.
