The Tiriac Foundation has announced that it will reward every Romanian athlete who wins gold at the Paris Olympics with a Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car, released this year and valued at €50,000.
The announcement was made by Ion Alexandru Țiriac, son of Ion Țiriac, on Instagram, a day after swimmer David Popovici won Olympic gold in the 200-meter freestyle event.
"As a gesture of appreciation and pride for our athletes, the Țiriac Foundation is stepping forward to reward our local values accordingly. Their extraordinary work and the pride they have given to all Romanians is amazing. Every winner of an Olympic GOLD medal will receive the latest Hyundai Ioniq 5 limousine model," Țiriac junior wrote on Instagram.
So far Romania has only one gold medal at this edition of the Olympics, through young David Popovici.
