You know the season is starting when chubbies like Luka and Zion come in looking jacked,
aka the infamous best shape of their lives. Bricklayers like Ben Simmons suddenly become
snipers and everyone is on their best behavior, happy to get a fresh start.
The vibes are absolutely immaculate.
But we gotta start in LA, where Luka Doncic is looking so Hollywood right now,
he might as well be auditioning for the leading role of the newest Superman.
And by watching this, you would assume that he'll turn into Steph Curry 2.0 when the season starts.
Heck, he drilled 4 half-court shots out of 5 tries and Austin Reeves was in shock
watching this during his sideline interviews.
Another guy from the Lakers that's been standing out with his dedication is Bronny James,
who stayed after practice to work on his 3-point shot and was the last one to leave the facility.
Oh, he hit 7 threes in a row, he's gonna have a breakout season for sure.
Man, he's a professional basketball player for Christ's sake. Alone in the gym,
uncontested, of course he'll hit some shots.
And believe it or not, Zion Williamson beat Trey Murphy in a 3-point contest.
Pelicans fans will see this and proclaim Zion as the newest sniper in the league,
but at least he's looking to be in a great physical condition.
Every year before the season, we get this info about how much weight he's lost,
but according to Joe Dumars, Zion is right now in impeccable shape.
Plus, he had the right answer to this question.
This seems to me that he's mad at himself, and that's the right mentality,
cause at this point, only his mind can take him to the next level.
And Ben Simmons is taking his long-range shooting to another level as well,
as he even managed to hit 3 out of 9 from the corner while this video lasts.
You can laugh all you want, but that's just 2 less of his career total 5 made 3s.
Unbelievable.
But you know how the saying goes, even a blind squirrel will find a nut every once in a while.
Just look at that broken shooting form in slow motion. My guy's irreparable.
Or is he?
Lethal Shooter chimed in on Twitter saying that he would drop
everything on his schedule to spend a month with Simmons and fix his jumper.
Kevin O'Connor had the best reply saying that the first thing Ben
should do is switch his shooting hand, cause he's a natural righty.
And speaking of shooting 3s, why in the world is Walker Kessler practicing this,
when all he has to do is stay in the dunker spot and wait for Luka to throw him a lob.
The same can be said about Rudy Gobert,
look at him giving his best effort to do a sidestep 3. It's hilarious.
And his teammate Bones Highland made sure to mess with him during media day when he
caught Rudy trying some fancy handles.
And you know the season is starting when we have a disgruntled player demanding the spotlight.
In a GQ interview, Dylan Harper dropped the f-bomb saying that he's definitely
not coming off the bench this season, only to backpedal in his media day interview.
Just maybe shed more light on what that experience is like
and how your relationship with De'Aaron and Steph and everybody has been throughout it.
Not yet. I mean, I feel like it's competitive nature. Everyone has a competitive edge to them,
but biggest thing for me is whatever I can do, just like last year to help the team win,
and whatever position that all the coaches think is best for me to be in,
that's a position I'm happily going. So I mean, whatever happens this year,
just know that ain't gonna be no bad, bad nothing for me. I'm always gonna stay positive.
I'm always gonna be at the forefront of just keeping the team together.
Harper is the Ginobili of this generation, a reliable bucket getter that's always gonna
finish games, so for now it's best for him to stay humble and really back up the last words he said.
And after hearing this from Wimby, my respect for him just skyrocketed.
Would you ever consider doing an endorsement for a sports betting company?
Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's,
it's very sad to see some players promoted, in my opinion, but it's,
everybody does whatever they want, but without me. You know, in the past,
there was a dimension of money in the past. Not anymore. But even if I said that, I refused,
you know, plenty, much, much more money that I've made for things that were not to my values,
you know, and now it's, now I want to promote things that have a good impact,
have a good influence on the world. You guys know my stance on gambling,
that I've never promoted any betting company and I never will. So if you want to support
the grind, you can get yourself a cool looking t-shirt from my merch line. We got Wimby,
the New York Brunson's and the oil on canvas tip-in. The link is in the description.
And speaking of descriptions, The Pistons erased the weight clause from Durin's deal and he
magically accepted it. It's the same 5 year 200 million dollars but now he can say that he did
it on his own terms. Bravo, I guess. Meanwhile, LeBron James is taking the chopper to attend
practices and Tyrese Maxxie had a funny story about it. Everyone in Philly has reasons to be
happy right now, especially with the big fella looking and feeling great.
Feel pretty good, in a good spot. Not just physically, also mentally.
The other reason is their schedule. I know it's been a while since the schedule was released,
but I cannot emphasize enough how much this helps Joel's knees and LeBron's age,
cause their energy and availability will make or break the team. They can go on a cruise control
for the first quarter of the season and still be effective. And for the Blazers to be effective
with Ja on their team, he'll need to translate this attitude on the court.
He's saying all the right things at the moment but we'll see when the season comes how he'll
fit alongside Lillard and Holiday. One thing's for certain however, this is Moran's last chance
for redemption. If he somehow messes up in Portland, he'll need to learn Chinese sooner
than later. And speaking of that, D'Angelo Russell is officially out of the league at the age of 30
after news broke out that he's signing with the Shanghai Sharks in China. I documented how he
ruined his career in just 7 days right here in this video. So check it out and talk to you in
the next one. Peace out.
