Nikola Jokic just threw the best pass in preseason history.
The Clippers rookie stunned the Warriors.
And John Morant got the entire city of Portland hyped up before an actual game.
But let's start in Hawaii, where Steph Curry put on a show for the fans well before the game.
Look at him throwing the ball with one hand way up to the ceiling before it bounces on the floor
and goes in off the glass. This is a lot tougher to make than a half court shot but Steph does it
so often that he patented it. A true basketball wizard. And what better way to kick off
preseason than the rookie knocking down a three off a dime from the master.
A minute later, Yaxell kicked the ball off to Horford who was ready on the wing.
And to keep the chain going, Big Al left it out to Curry who strung one from deep.
The chef looked slick as always schooling the young Clippers on a couple of occasions before
calling it a night with 10 points and 2 assists on 3 of 4 shooting from the field in just 13
minutes of action. Meanwhile, Lendeborg showed his elite defensive instincts when…
Wow, Yax stayed long enough in the air to block Grady who tried to use the rim as protection.
In less than 14 minutes on the floor, the rookie grabbed 7 rebounds as well but failed to hit
another shot as he finished the game with 3 points on 1 of 5 shooting. He'll be alright.
On the other end, Rui Hachimura was more than alright in his Clippers debut.
Matter of fact, he was sizzling.
Rui was a robot in this one. It seemed like he couldn't do no wrong on the hardwood.
Dunks, threes, midrange fadeaways, you name it. The black samurai was doing it all. He put up
a scoring clinic racking up 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting in just 15 minutes on the floor.
I'm sure Clippers fans are thrilled for stealing him away from their city rivals.
And they should be pretty hyped about Darius Garland running the show.
DG came ready to play, putting up a perfect stat line of 15 points and 6 assists without
a single miss. 4 for 4 from the field in the first half. Absolutely amazing. He led the Clippers
to a 12 point lead at the break but Keaton Wagler, the 5th overall pick in this year's draft,
had to save them at the end. Despite shooting an underwhelming 2 for 14 till that point,
Wagler mustered up the courage to take and make what turned out to be the game winner at the end.
Moving on to Colorado where Nikola Jokic fooled 4 jazz defenders on his first touch of the
A couple of possessions later, he found Gordon again after a miscommunication by Utah.
And I really don't know how they left Christian Brown all alone here.
The joker dished out 5 assists in the first 5 minutes of the game with the last one probably
being the best ever in preseason history. Are you kidding me right now? A behind the bag
bullet pass right on the money for Cam Johnson. If this sounded familiar to you, it's because
I've said the same thing last year as well. Jokic threw the best pass in preseason history.
What can I do, the joker never stops to amaze me.
I think this year's is a close winner though because Johnson actually made the 3 point shot
and the newest nugget made sure to leave his imprint in the 2nd quarter when…
Deebo gets the circus and one layup to drop through the teeth of the jazz defense.
We'll see how he gels with Jokic and Murray but one thing's for certain,
he can still get buckets on anyone in the league.
And speaking of getting buckets, Laurie and Triple J got a ton against the Nuggets.
The jazz duo were in their groove putting their team up by 10 in the first quarter
and they continued doing damage in the 2nd as well.
Marconin with 17 and Jackson with 11 led Utah to the victory in their first preseason game.
And out west, Ja Morant put on a spectacle in a scrimmage.
Not in a game, we're talking about a public scrimmage.
We know he has the most outstanding 360 layup package but Ja showcased his core vision as
well as his Dame kind of range sending the crowd into a frenzy.
And Wimby was also able to draw some oohs and aahs from the fans in San Antonio.
Victor got Luke Cornett in shambles trying to keep up with him on this one.
Bad news for the Spurs is that Tobias Harris suffered a calf strain and will be out for
the start of the season. But regardless, you know it's go time when chubbies like
Luka and Zion are looking jacked aka the infamous best shape of their lives.
And bricklayers like Ben Simmons suddenly turn into snipers.
In my last video, I covered all the preseason narratives that keep reoccurring each and every
year. Click right here to check it out and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
