At Emerge's 2026 DC Luncheon, elected leaders, Emerge alums, and supporters came together to highlight Emerge's critical role in building the pipeline of women leaders who will help Democrats take back Congress this November and shape the future of our country.

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi reflected on Emerge's remarkable journey, from its first meeting of 12 people in San Francisco, which she attended with her daughter Christine, to more than 7,000 women trained and over 1,200 serving in elected office today.

Emerge President A'shanti F. Gholar shared the organization's impact, its vision for the future, and the critical role Emerge women are playing in shaping the political landscape.

A panel of Emerge leaders, including Congresswoman Lateefah Simon, Democratic nominee for U.S. House, NC-14 LaKesha Womack, and Massachusetts State Rep. Tram Nguyen, discussed their experiences running for office, breaking barriers, and leading in their communities.

With 500 Emerge women on the ballot this November, the luncheon highlighted the growing impact of Emerge's national network and the importance of investing in women's leadership.

As Speaker Pelosi told the audience, “We absolutely…will win the House for the Democrats and women will lead the way.”
