so Alex's parents took him to the vet
and the vet said that he had about three different diseases
and sicknesses and that it was time
to think about putting him down.
And Alex wanted to go home so badly
to say goodbye to him and be with his family during that
and his mom just couldn't let Mickey suffer anymore
and so they put him down the same day they went to the vet.
And that day I visited Alex
and I knew he couldn't be alone during that,
I wouldn't wanna be alone during that
and it just tore him to pieces
and I hated seeing that, it hurt him so much.
I've never gone through that, I don't have pets
and to think how much that dog meant to him
and that he's just gone and it was a huge part of him,
I just, it hurt me so much and I went over
and he was crying and it was a very, very rough night
and I knew I wanted to do something,
I had to do something for him.
And so I researched and I found Petsies
and I was kind of sneaky about it,
I got pictures of Mickey from his mom
and I asked her questions about his fur color
and I knew he had two different eyes
and I wanted to know which one was which
and all of this and his quirks and things
and I sent that all in to Petsies
and I received the dog in October
and I opened the package and I started crying,
it looked so much like Mickey
and I just, I could not wait to give it to Alex
but I did until Christmas
when we exchanged our gifts together
and the moment he opened it,
he just burst into tears
and it felt awesome to be able to give him that,
that piece that he's been missing
and he's told me that it's the most thoughtful gift
he's ever received and how it gave him
a little bit of closure to be able to kind of see him again
and I just, I couldn't have done it,
I couldn't have given him that without Petsies
and I know that he loves it,
it's on his side table at home
and he put Mickey's collar on it
and it's just like he's there and it reminds him of him
