Wizards next move LEAKED... (and it's wild)

Things are about to come to a head as soon with the final roster spot still in flux right now a few recent reports have Named some particular targets in specific for the Wizards including DeMar DeRozan coming back around as one top tier target for Washington But there are some other interesting names We're gonna dive into all the latest news rumors reports on the DeMar front including some new odds coming up right at the end But also there has been an outpouring of support and love and honestly just hype for the Washington Wizards We got some people putting them down to the bottom of the East But we have some other people Propping them up and we are very excited to talk about all of that coming up on this episode and wanted to thank you Guys again for tuning in every single day and just a reminder that we are here every day even in the dog days of summer When news will start picking up we'll be right here on it We're on all these exhibit 10 contracts stuff like that Make sure you're subscribed for daily talk and you know what today we're gonna start this off with a bit of a hype session We'd love to hear some hype comments down below get you guys interacting How excited are you for this wizard season because you can see Brett Usher tweeted this out I'm not gonna do the thing where I just list their roster, but man go look at the Wizards roster They've got a chance to be pretty good. And yeah, I think that's very true You got Hoop Central, Anthony Davis, Trae Young, DeAndre Ayton and the entire Wizards roster are putting in work There was a great video posted on X by the Wizards themselves showing all these guys putting in some great work Maybe we'll show some videos in the future video sleeper team in the East and these are just a couple examples But I will show the roster just like Brett Usher said it does look really good I mean, I love that it feels like it's gone from underestimation to almost a lot of people saying, you know What we're seeing them put in the work Davis is hitting these shots Maybe there's something legit here and I love that we're getting the respect for it Yeah, it's been a long time since this has happened And obviously there were a lot of people who earlier this offseason we're talking about how the Wizards I mean We talked about the 20 win projection models and all those things now people are just coming around now Whether it's because a Jada Bonsai went viral a little bit yesterday because of the clip of the guy asking if he's gonna get traded There's a lot of stuff and the Wizards in general just some more hype team right now You actually look at the roster though if you sit down and look at the team in general They are significantly better than a lot of people think you can look at the other teams in the Eastern Conference Obviously LeBron James going to the East Mid headlines Johnson and Akuma getting traded But when it comes to teams that have improved and really gotten better I think a lot of it has went under the radar because a lot of the Wizards moves outside of a Jada Bonsai Happened kind of last year before, you know the thick of the offseason So it is a very scary trio and we're seeing them come together and they seem pretty close as teammates as well And I'm pretty close in it. Yeah, I mean I'm excited to see it Yeah, we'd love to start this video off with just some yeah some excitement But you know what the fact of the matter is this team yet has a great trio But with a lot of great supporting guys who are all very young as you saw the average age of most of the players on The roster I've seen, you know, Anthony Davis is gonna drag it up a little bit Weirdly Trey Young brings it up a little bit I still think of him as young but he's not as young anymore But still right all the young guys still pushing through here to Bonsai of course being the youngest But the Wizards still have a chance to get even better before the season starts now You know, there's a lot of talk about a lot of different names and this actually might be something we cover tomorrow It's Greg Feinberg tweeted it out. Of course. Fantastic. Well, you guys all know Greg Feinberg 15th roster spot remains open. They've been linked to Damar and Gabe Vinson But one intriguing options Brando Williams now we might touch on that in another video But I want to circle back on Damar because this is something that is kind of it was like, whoa the Wizards have checked in then it cooled off but then all of a sudden the ESPN comes out and the Wizards were one of The four teams named that were interested in Damar it continues it continues now There are a lot of other teams interested as you can see here the Heat the Nuggets and the Cavs were three other teams And you know team friendly price Yeah We'll have to wait and see right and I don't think Damar is going to get a starting opportunity Anywhere that seems to be the case the reports seem to indicate he's gonna come off the bench wherever he goes But Nick having a look at this Continuing even like a week or two after we heard the original report kind of losing track of time might have been a week Two weeks ago. The Wizards are still in on this right? There's still one of these teams named and I still you know, I have my reservations about this move But at the end of the day back to the matter is I think he would make the team better though It would raise a whole lot of questions about the rotation Yeah, and obviously he's been a veteran in the league for a while it answers I mean what questions does it answer on the team? I mean, I don't necessarily know He's definitely the most talented player one of the more talented players out of the pool that are available now I know I see a lot of the comments about it in general They could probably use a guard more like a one or two, but again you look at what this team needs There's not a whole lot of glaring holes remaining on the actual team So, I don't know it becomes pretty exciting. Look at the stats you look at his position He didn't get a lot of recognition last year because you know after going to the Sacramento Kings of all teams You know there comes a point where he's not gonna get talked about a lot He is an extremely good facilitator for his position and he would make this team unequivocally better on paper But does that mean they should go for him and take away some minutes from other guys? That's where it becomes a big question if they had an obvious hole even as a six-man or something like that Maybe but again getting talent on this team right now It kind of depends on where Will Dawkins wants to go with it Does he want to not quote-unquote rush but rush a little bit and kind of try to get some really big names or is he Gonna play it slow and go after you know Let the young guys kind of thrive and then maybe make a push during the trade down on our next season Yeah, and that decision might still be something that they're actively making because you know We just we're signing some exhibit tens. We're preparing for training camp and you know is he probably gonna end up on the Wizards? No, probably not But again like if you really want to push to win and you want to buy into this hype right looking at the roster itself It's good on paper. But also the first part of this season Doesn't just have to do with like, you know, see how the Wizards are coalesced and see how it's working We also have to remember that The Anthony Davis story here does matter like how the Wizards do in the first stretch of the season Will matter for whether they bring back Davis now to be fair a lot of you guys and I probably agree think look if the Wizards Are really good and Davis is really good for the first 20 games and then he signs a big old max extension That might actually be a bad thing So would having more talent making the Wizards more likely to do well in the early stretch be actually a bad thing in the long Run, it's this big puzzle piece, right? So we'd love to hear your thoughts on all of it down below, but we do have to dive into the new odds so, um, it is seeming less and less likely that DeRozan is gonna end up on the Wizards as Via Calci the Heat are now the heavy favor with the Raptors sneaking up in there, too They were not even one of the four named from that ESPN thing. So Ultimately, it still seems up in the air But Nick especially with guys like I mean I don't even want to say it's a positional battle like Will Riley who probably gets all handling duties But like Bilal Kulibaly, right who's due for an extension Trey Johnson who's looking to be hopefully some stud six, man This guy on below one of the best second best mid-range rating in 2k this year I think from from him so look there's a lot of great stuff coming. But yeah, I don't know Look if he doesn't end up in Washington It's not the end of the world because as we've talked about before there still are some other very Interesting targets that in my opinion could probably fill a need a little bit better Yeah, and keep in mind. What do you trust more calcium ESPN stuff? It is just odds at the end of the day the Raptors probably going in there because reports started to fly today slash yesterday that The resolution cause probably gonna go to Toronto that trades gonna go through which obviously then do the Raptors one I don't know. I don't trust the odds as much I do think it actually is a real possibility only because they've waited this long to actually pick a player like I say this every video But if it was gonna go with Anthony Gill or someone else you'd assume they'd already do it by now So I think it lends more to the possibility of it I don't necessarily think it's the best fit, but I do think between him you have their holidays still Russell Westbrook They're probably leaning that direction though I still think a guard might make a little more sense if you're gonna go ahead and pick a quote-unquote More win now option versus a younger project or a I mean, they're all veterans, but a guy like Anthony killed for box Yeah, exactly I tend to agree and we'd love to hear your thoughts down below He keeps coming back up and until he signs somewhere We're probably gonna keep talking about him because there's a lot of implications with this last move, right? Cuz this move will directly impact maybe how the Wizards start the season Maybe the Anthony Davis discussions, maybe a whole lot of other stuff.
