Do you need a bigger spoon or is that okay? It's okay. Don't let it splash out. Okay, so she's gonna...
Hey guys, welcome back to Count It All Joy. In today's video, we were going to do a little bit
of cooking, actually baking for you guys. So girls, what are we going to make today? Blackberry cobbler.
So Hopi doesn't think she's a big fan of blackberries, but we're going to make her be a
believer in the cobbler with these three recipes we have. A believer? Well, I guess it's not really
three different recipes. It is, we're going to have a little blind taste test competition.
We have purchased a Walmart blackberry cobbler. We've purchased one from the Amish store that is
local around our area. And then we also have a recipe for the Pioneer Woman blackberry cobbler
that we're going to make at home with our fresh blackberries. Only five ingredients. Yeah, it only
has five ingredients. So we're super excited. That sounds super easy. But yeah, we want you guys to
come along for a little Walmart versus the Amish, but we're going to add in our own recipe to go
with that. Right? Is that funny? Walmart versus the Amish. Who do you think is going to come out ahead?
Homemade. Homemade? I hope so. Okay, well come along with us and we'll see how the taste test goes.
Cold. What did we come in here looking for? Blackberry cobbler. And there's literally one.
Who made it? Who made it? Patti LaBelle. It's a Patti LaBelle recipe. We couldn't get one at
Amish Cheese House because the bakery was closed. We'll get it tomorrow. They've got ice cream.
We'll get it tomorrow, but we got our one blackberry cobbler from Walmart. When does it say
expires? Is it still good? 7-11. Okay, so we'll be good. 7-11. Okay, Hopie, so it's day two. Where are we back at?
Amish Cheese House. Yep, at the Amish Cheese House in their bakery. And what did we come to get?
Blackberry pie. Yes, our blackberry cobbler. Whatever they've got. So, yep, so we made it back yesterday.
We kind of missed them before they closed, so we're going to see what we find. Hope, here's the ski.
Is there a cobbler?
What did you find, Hadley? Blackberry cobbler. Oh, perfect.
It's freezing. Cherry crisp. Oh, you got the wrong one. You got the wrong one. It's on top.
Oh yeah, here, put that one back. Can you, can you reach? Or Hadley probably can. I can. You can.
Here, baby, I'll get it. I'll get it. I don't want you standing in it.
Hey, what are you two doing? Getting a sample? Okay, you can't throw it away. Throw it away.
It's fine. You can get the different one. We've ate that before, haven't we? It's like a cream
cheese little log thing. We did it at, um, Branson. Vintage. I thought we did it at Branson. Oh, yummy.
Is it good? So, they put their little chocolate pretzels with it, and then that has like cream
cheese and chocolate chips. Let's see you try it. Mmm, yummy. A chocolate cheese ball. What did Dad
get, did you say? Jalapeno. Jalapeno cheese curds. I bet him and Papa would both like those, huh? Yeah.
They have all kinds of good cheese in here. Horseradish cheese.
Got all the yummy jellies and jams. Did you write a book? You did it?
Hope you wrote her own book. I bet that has some good recipes in it. You think? Are you trying
something else? Cinnamon spread. Oh, you're gonna try cinnamon spread? That looks yummy.
You guys are going for the sweet stuff, huh? No. Are we good? Girls, what are we gonna get the
ingredients for? Our. Our blackberry cobbler. Yeah. So, I found a... We already got Amish from Walmart, now we're
gonna get our recipe from the Pioneer Woman. Yeah, I found a Pioneer Woman one, and it said it's only
five ingredients, one of which is blackberries that we picked at home. So, well hold on, I'll have
to look on the list. Hold on, hold on. We already have some of this, but we're gonna go ahead and get
it so we can see how much it costs. Is that the smallest bag? Yeah. Okay, so we got flour or the sugar.
Now, do you know what's next? Self-rising flour. It's this way. It needs to say self-rising,
because if not... So, that's all-purpose. We need the self-rising. Right down there. See it, babe?
Okay, so now Hayden's gonna get the whole milk. Okay, get a different one if it is.
Hayden, can you get the whole milk? Just get a little thing because we don't really eat it
or drink it. Hadley, come and get the butter, babe. So, sticks. Let's see which kind. It has to be
like actual real butter. So, get one of these. Get one of these down here is fine. Yeah, get a butter.
Got the butter? Yeah. Okay. Hayden, I'm gonna get a small thing of whole milk, okay?
Um, smaller than a gallon. Let's see what they've got.
Right here, Hayden. Just get that small one. Yeah, that's fine.
Actually, there's all the ingredients because we have what at home?
Eggs. Nope, don't need eggs. Just blackberries.
Yeah, just the blackberries. Okay, let's go get some vanilla ice cream. Okay, so this is a Walmart
one. This is the one from the Amish Bakery. How long does it say we need to put it in?
350 for 60 to 75 minutes, but we did thaw it out. It's not frozen, so we won't have to do it that
long. So, we're still going to set it at 350 and maybe do like 45 minutes and watch it. And then
these are our ingredients for the cup we're gonna make. Yes.
Do you use this one up here very much? So, just do it.
Okay, Hayden's gonna get a cup of sugar ready for our homemade recipe. Oh, that's okay.
It's okay. Yep, pour that in. Okay, so Hope is going to get one cup of the self-rising flour
and the little measure she has there is half a cup. You can scrape it, sis, on the side of the,
like, just look. There you go. That's a half a cup, so she's gonna do two of those to make it a cup.
Put a little bit more, baby, and then you can scrape it on the side of the bag. There you go.
So, there's a cup of sugar that we added and a cup of the self-rising flour. So, put that to
the side. Okay, so we normally don't do the whole milk. The girls usually like the two percent milk,
but this calls for whole milk. So, Hope's gonna pour in. You can fill it up a little bit more,
baby. She's gonna pour in a cup of milk, whole milk. There you go. And then Hayden's gonna work
on the melted butter. So, Hayden is going to get a half a stick of butter and go ahead and put that
in the microwave to melt that. Don't mind our makeshift countertops here. Hopefully, we'll be
getting some soon, but these have been working out fine. There you go. Okay, so go ahead and put that
in there. I also have our extension cords here. Just gonna get the butter and then put it in the
microwave. I just usually maybe do, like, 30 seconds at a time, and we'll see what it looks like.
Which ones do you, which one do you guys think is going to taste the best?
What do you think?
I think ours is. Yeah. Not being confident in ours? I bet it will be good. Okay, we'll check
back in a minute with the butter. Moving around in there. Okay, go ahead and put it back in.
Do another, probably do another 30 seconds. Give that a try.
Okay, we're checking on our butter progress. I think maybe one more round. Maybe just, like,
15 seconds or something. Yeah, or is it all melted, actually? Okay, maybe just do, like,
10 seconds and we'll see what it looks like. Is our butter looking nice and melted? Yep. Let me
see. All right, perfect. Okay, go ahead and add it in there. And I'll mix it up. Yeah, you can use,
you can just use that spoon we have right there. Do you need a bigger spoon or is that okay?
Don't let it splash out. Okay, so she's gonna, oh,
she's gonna continue to mix that. Get all the lumps out of it over there.
I can use my team in the vacuum to vacuum up our stuff. Oh, yeah.
Think about this task. You're gonna pour it in there. Is it heavy for you? Yeah. Okay,
go ahead and pour that in there. And then, Hayden, come get that spoon so you can help her get
the excess off of it. Turn it around, Hopi, so we can see.
Did you get it all in there? Yep. Okay, go ahead and put that in the sink.
Okay, pretty sure we're just supposed to put the blueberries on, the black berries on top,
but let me take it. Okay, so now, hey, we're not gonna have two cups. So now it says to top with
two cups of blackberries. We just got what we could pick. It looks actually around that much,
so go ahead and put those on top. Yeah, I would just say just kind of spread them out.
Hey, we're actually using our Pioneer Woman baking dish here, so with our Pioneer Woman recipe.
Okay, yeah, kind of spread them out. It says life is good. Hopefully this is good, huh? Yeah.
Okay, so now, Hopi, let's see how much sugar it says to put on top. Okay, so now,
Hope is going to get a fourth a cup of sugar. Fill that little baby up. Probably even get a
little bit more. Make sure it's pretty level so we get, because if the blackberries are really
tart, this will help it. Okay, so now you're going to sprinkle that over the top, so kind of evenly.
There you go. You can come back for the same spot again. Just, oh, that's okay. That's okay.
Just keep sprinkling. Maybe get, okay, that's okay. Get the spoon that we had right there.
Was it on anything? Get a new spoon. Get a new spoon. It's fine.
Here, Hopi. She's just going to get another spoon. It's fine. We'll just kind of spread it
a little bit. Okay, so now kind of even. It's okay. Look, we'll just kind of even it out a
little bit. There you go. Too much came out in certain spots, huh? Just maybe like right along
there. There you go. And maybe this little bunch, put some in that corner. Yeah, it'll be fine.
Perfect. Okay, so now, hold on. Let me have that real quick. So now we're going to wait for our
Amish cobbler to be done, and then we'll put this one in. This might be a late night of trying out
blueberry, I don't keep saying blueberry, blackberry cobblers. Okay, while the cobbler is
baking, Hopi said, let's go ahead and go out and feed the animals. So you're going to help me do
that? Yeah. You can do it for me? Yeah. Oh, don't trip there. Oh, they're ready for dinner. The pond
looks green. Yeah, the pond, it kind of changes just if it gets hot out. Here, go that direction
to their bowls. We hear you, Pearl. Okay, we'll go ahead and feed Pearl and Percy.
Where's he at? Oh, he's coming. Is he scratching? Yeah. Oh, Chiefie. I'm going to zoom in on him.
He's scratching on that pole. Okay, so Hopi's going to give...
This will end up being Percy's scoop. Watch. It'll be Pearl tries to get a little nibble,
but it ends up being Percy's, and then she comes over here. Pearl, you're so predictable.
Good girl. Can I give them? Yeah, give them another about half. I got a quarter. Okay, that's fine.
Good girl, Pearlie. Oh, you have some of the chickens? Yeah. Don't give them too much,
because they have scratch and stuff, too. Bugs. And bugs, yeah. Percy, move your head.
Okay, there's Percy. Okay, you want to go give... Oh, Gracie, I'm tripping over here. Let's go give
the horses some oats. They've been out in their little pen today eating. Gracie, do you like your
new collar? We got you and Mama a new collar. Okay, so we're going to make our way over to the horses.
Why did they get a collar? Just because when we need to take them to the vet and stuff,
we had to put their leash on it. I thought it was a shop collar. No, it's just a regular. Okay,
Hope's going to show us what she learned. Remember, babe, push it right there. There you go. Okay,
so go close that for me, and then we can go give them some oats. Hi, boys. Ed. Hi, Grace. Gracie.
Hi, pretty. Okay, I'll close it. Okay, I was going to show you a way last time. You just slip it
over it. You don't have to push that. Just slip it over it. Yeah, just like that. Okay, now let's go
give them some oats. Hey, since Dad has been finding snakes, thankfully not out here yet. Here,
there's just been black snakes, but it's always good to watch where you're walking. They're not
eating again. That's okay. They have some grass. It's always good because copperheads can blend in
these, like, leaves like this. This is what they actually blend in perfectly, too.
Yeah, we should wear our boots, but also we need rubber, like, not rubber, like,
well, you should wear, like, leather, like, snake boots, but we're watching where we're walking.
Okay, go ahead and give them a little scoop of their oats. Hi, sweetie.
You already got your jammies on, don't you? Yep. You're ready for cobbler and bed.
Go over there, Ed. Are your bangs getting on your nerves? Can you fix your bangs? Come here.
I'm trying to move your hair, buddy. Okay, I'm trying to move his bangs over out of his eyes
to that way. Yeah, there you go, baby. Oh, seriously? It's fine. He says, hey, I like it that way.
I like it kind of messy. Okay, well, we're going to leave you guys to your oats so we can go check
on our cobbler here in a minute. Okay, so I'm gonna close the nest boxes and check for eggs.
Some spiderwebs. No eggs. No eggs. No eggs. Okay, so we came here to check them out. Hi, Dallas.
They're all running around.
That is their little cave, I should call it. I don't think they use it, do they? No, they don't.
They use their heater thing. Okay, I hope he's going to go into the little cat house,
give them a scoop, and close them up for the night.
That's the dog house. I will go walk up the chicken. Yes, I'll let you close the kitties up,
okay? Yeah, I took some stuff out. We're going to keep cleaning it up in there.
Just go ahead and give them their scoop. Gracie. Gracie, no kitty food for you. We're closing it
up. Gabby. Gabriela, come here. Gracie, do you want to... Hey, sit. I'm talking to you.
Would you like to try some cobbler?
Gabby. Gabby.
Gabby, do you want to try some cobbler too?
Good girl. Gabby, are you going to do it? Gabby can't do it because Gracie will attack her and
not let her. Yeah, sometimes she does. Did you say the sugar will make them too wild if they eat
cobbler? Okay, let's go check on our cobbler. It was a butterfly. Okay, Hadley's the hero.
She got the fourth chick, which is our new little rooster. When we switched out our little chicken
coop for this tractor for the new, new chicks, these four that we had hatched out a few months
ago, they didn't have a new, they didn't have a coop. So they've been going over there where their
old coop was and they were finding somewhere to just perch, but we were afraid we were pressing
our luck and we didn't want them to get attacked by anything in the middle of the night. So
Hope and I caught the hens and Hadley just caught the rooster. What baby? Why did you just scream
at a butterfly? I thought it was a wasp. You guys know that I scream a lot. Watch where we're
walking. Well, we'll open it and kind of shoo them in there. No, we'll just kind of coax them in there.
Okay, go ahead and put him in there. I helped him and Jack get along since he's just a little guy.
Do you want me to open it, Had? Hold on here. I'll open it. You have to kind of. Okay, so now our,
I would say teenagers, they're all four in there and we'll know that they're safe at night.
But now, like Hopie said, oh, good job. We got to try to get all of our others coaxed into there.
So there should be 16 hens and two roosters.
So once we count it.
Just open that door and coax them in maybe.
We have to open the door though. Oh, almost. Okay, let me open it. So when we get done with
this little wrangle, we should have 16 hens, two roosters. Throw them in there.
Okay, so we got all the chickens in for the night. Me and Hadley caught a lot of chickens. So we have
16 hens in there and two roosters and they need to learn to get along and we're going to keep
them in there for the next couple days so that the four younger chicks know that that's their
house. Me and Hadley trapped two chickens. We put them behind the trash can and grabbed them. Yeah,
you're good little chicken wranglers. So we just got this Amish one out of the oven and put the
homemade one in here. So we'll be back with you in about an hour. Tell you how it turns out. Okay,
so the homemade one made it out of the oven. You guys ready to give it a try? Yeah. Are you going
to too, Hud? Maybe. Okay, so Hayden wants to do a true blind taste test because she said she kind
of knows what they looked like when they were baked. So put on your little blindfold.
Okay, Hopi, can you film her right here and I'm going to give her some bites. Okay, so
turn this way, Hayden, a little bit. Can you see me and that light in her? Okay,
okay, so I'm going to give you a little bite of this one. Just kind of keep it in your head.
This is number one and what you think about all the components of it.
Do you like it? Okay, so is there anything that stands out that you like or don't like?
This is good. Okay, it's good. Then there's this one.
What's different about them? One's crunchy. Hold on. That one good? Turn around. Me? Yeah. Turn
around. Okay, what? It's hot so I know she'll know. What? What in the world? She said nothing
about it. Why are you whispering? Nothing. Oh no. It's okay. It's a rice. It's okay.
Okay, so that was kind of bigger. Open wide. I'm whispering. Okay, so do you remember number one,
number two, number three? Do you like number one the best, number two, or number three,
or do you need to try them again? Two. You like number two the best. Okay, take off your blindfold.
Okay, I'm just going to keep that same plate. I'm not gonna. Okay. Okay, I'm mixing up the order.
So you said you liked your number two the best. Okay, I know which one that is. Okay, hon.
You can make comments. Like is it good, sour, sweet, gross? What? I forgot. I didn't make
a comment on mine. Is it fun? Just a thumbs up. Okay, here's your number two.
Is it sour? Is it disgusting? Cold. Well, that was ice cream. It's cold. So you kind of like that one?
Wow, that's a lot of noise in your mouth. Okay. Oh, you remember that one? Okay.
Okay, here comes number three. I kind of like that one. You kind of don't? Number three.
Interesting. Interesting. What do you think about that one? Mom, which one was it? You can't tell.
Okay, so number one you remember. You remember number two. Do you remember number three?
Okay, so which one do you like the best? One, two, or three? Number one. Number one. Okay,
good job. Do you remember which one? Yes. Now hope's up. Last time. Oh, I have to do it too.
Here, I'm going to add a little bit more ice cream. Sorry you guys have to be silent
for our taste test. Do not zoom into my mouth or you're not going to be on any more videos. Hey,
if you zoom into my mouth while I'm eating, you're not going to be in any more videos.
Good thing I have my own channel. Good thing I can edit you out. I'm scared. Here's number one.
You don't like blackberries that much, I know, but here I'll give you another bite of the crust
so you can tell. That's number one. Very good. Okay, number two. I don't like the blackberries.
Okay, we'll vote on the other thing, like the crust and stuff. Okay, here's number two. I'll
try not to get a lot of blackberries. Don't eat the plate. Oh my goodness, you're leaking. That's
number two. Number two. Don't move forward or you're going to step in ice cream. Do you like
that one okay? Kind of. Okay, and here's number three. Try not to give you a big old blackberry.
Number three. Which one? Say which one first. Number three. Okay, so I'm going to tell before
I do mine because I'll be a tiebreaker. So, Hayden liked the Amish one the best.
Hadley liked the Walmart one the best, and Hope liked the homemade one the best.
So, each had a different vote. Okay, so Hayden, you want to do it to me?
I'm gonna do a different one. I got a border. There's only three.
This is the first bite coming in of every mouth.
Any comments? Concerns? No, it's good.
It's kind of sour a little bit. I'm trying to get some breading for you here. Okay,
I'm getting dizzy with this mask. How do you feel about that one?
Do you like it? Yeah. I'm gonna give you another one. Yes, I'm trying to differentiate.
Okay, this is about to come in just a second. Okay, open up your mouth now. Okay, you have to pick.
Oh my goodness. One, two, or three. Ah, can I try one again? Yes. Open up your mouth.
Ah, wide, wide, wide, wide, wide, wide.
They're not very good at that. I'm videoing and feeding you.
Let's lift up her mask and see if she's lucky.
Okay, can I pick? Yes. I think I like number one the best. Over your breasts? That was the homemade
one. Yes, Hoppy! Pioneer Woman. Okay, so now do we just want to eat some? Yep. I want to eat the
warm one. You want to eat the warm one? I'll eat the Amish one. Okay. Okay, so we're gonna do a
little recap for everybody. Hayden, what was my favorite? The homemade one. And what was yours?
Hadley? Walmart. Hope? Homemade. Homemade. So yeah, the homemade came out the winner. And actually,
why are you shaking your head no? Afterwards, you actually said you did like it too.
But it just shows that it's always fun to try out new recipes, especially when it's stuff homegrown
on our property. And the blackberries, we don't have to do anything but pick them. Right, Had?
You've been helping Dad. Thank you so much for watching today's video. Give it a big thumbs up.
Please subscribe. Bye!
