We Swapped Makeup Bags… on Opposite Skin Tones 😭

Guys, I have a confession to make. I'm white. Okay, well in the spirit of honesty, I guess I've heard the allegations, I've seen the rumors, and it's true. I am black. Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. This is Sophia, I'm Noelle, and we're best friends. Right. Even if we look different. Right. We may have different stripes, but we are still sisters. We're best friends. And the last time we sat down at this table, we were trying universal makeup products for very different skin tones. And you should see how that went. But this time we decided to make it even harder on ourselves. Because we were like, oh, what? That was too easy. That was way too easy. Right. So today, we're going to try to do a full face of makeup by swapping makeup bags. So I have to do a full face of makeup using Noelle's makeup. And I have to do a full face using Sophia's makeup products. Now, not only are we different skin tones, but we also have different color seasons. Like Sophia is a bright winter. And I am a true warm. I think those are kind of as different as you could get. We could actually not be more opposite on the undertone scale. Right. So we are going to go sort of section by section and try to recreate, and we're making it easy on ourselves, just like an everyday makeup look. And at the end, hopefully we don't get canceled. Yeah. And Sophia, if you cancel her for blackface, I'm coming for you guys. We're not doing blackface. No, we're not doing that. So without further ado, let's get into it. Let's do it. In the spirit of like safety and cleanliness, we're not going to share like eye pencils or mascara or anything. And some of the things like we both use the Laura Mercier setting powder. We'll use our own setting powder. Round one, complexion. This is where I'm the most rude. I feel like you could use my concealer as like contour. I was going to say, this is her concealer shade. This probably, I can't use this as contour. What's your concealer? You guys, I just want you to, I want you to look at this. I'm a ghost. What do you want me to do? Is this your freaking contour? The amount of coolness is going to, this looks gray. Your BB cream. This could be an eyeshadow for me. This blush is going to be. So deep. There's a couple different blush options for you. Oh, this might be a good one for me. Because look how light that is. My winter shade of my highlight, like. That's not bad. Oh, frick. I may have given you the advantage. This looks lighter too. I put so much stuff in here for you. Yeah, you put so much stuff in here for me. Wow. I'm so sorry. I feel like I screwed you. I didn't mean to like give you more. I know a BB cream, which I'm just going to go ahead and swatch it on my hand. So you guys can see. Right. Okay. Well here, this is her contour. This might be a little better for a concealer shade. Yeah, that might be a good concealer shade for you. But it is literally so, it's gray. It's gray. On me. And then this is your concealer shade. You guys, this is her concealer. Okay. Yeah. I didn't swatch, but let's see. Oh, that's actually not that bad. For a contour, that's not bad. This, and I'm canceled. That's my contour. That's a cancelable offense, unfortunately, ladies and gentlemen. My strategy is I'm going to mix. I think, yeah, mixing is going to be good. And try to do like a little concealer moment. Yeah. I'm going to try your winter shade and see what happens. Yeah. Guys, she didn't give me a primer. I know. I accidentally, I guess it was on my countertop. No, but it's fine because I don't actually use primer. So, okay. I'm going to prime. She's got the Porefessional and this is just clear. So that's good. And I am going to mix these two shades together. Oh. Oh, look at when I blend them, how good that is. It'll be like you got self-tanner. Yeah. This is going to make me look like Casper the freaking ghost. Damn, I should've tanned before this. I cannot put this on my face. Sophia, this is just white paint on my face. Yeah, that's not right either. But maybe if I mix it. Okay, hold on. I'm going to mix the BB cream with her concealer shade and let's see what happens. I feel like I'm at a disadvantage. I feel it's easier to make things lighter than it is to make them darker. Oh, this is darker. You're so right. The cool undertone is so crazy. I just look, I'm somehow looking more tired. That's not right. I can't do that. You might have to go without. Yeah. Because I fear I'm not getting canceled. I'm not. Okay, this might be like a bronzy. I'm not going to like, I'm not going to like put it on my. Oh, that's pretty. It's given a gov. I gov not. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Oh my god. Let me get, I'm going to grab my mirror. But isn't that crazy how absurd this looks on me? Like with a warm contour. Yeah. We're looking orange, folks. Life isn't fair. It's not like good by any stretch of the imagination, but it could be worse. And that's something worth celebrating. Oh, I fear I've made a tactical error. Maybe if I blend it out. Let me see what happens if I just put this. That could be worse. I look like I've got, I'm ashy under my eyes. All right, you guys, I'm thinking maybe I wipe this off. I think I'm going to stick with no complexion. Oh my god. Maybe if I put powder on top. Yeah, maybe the bronzer. If I spot conceal, is this going to really **** me up? Let's see. **** around and find out. That's, that's my saying. This is her bronzer. Oh, Jesus Christ. Could not be terrible. Let's see if we can. Oh, that's. That make it better? Um, no. What I learned from the universal makeup video is that once you go white, you can't go back. You can't unwhite. Yeah. So you look so. But at least I'm not in blackface. Yeah, it's giving Republican mom core. No offense if you have a Republican mom core. No offense. Okay, you guys. So I went and I wiped off Casper the Ghost. This one's more sheer. I just don't think there's no world in which. I was just trying to. It's going to, I'm just going to look like a mime no matter what. Okay. Am I crazy for wanting to add a deeper color in my contour like right here? Like just a little bit, just like a little. Sophia looks like she just came back from a week in Ibiza. Yeah, but not my neck or my chest. Okay, you guys, new strategy. I'm going to try to use her bronzer as like an under eye thing. Wait, that's smart. I like that. So let's try this. Ready? How's that feel? Is that doing anything? This might actually be making it worse. It is. It looks deep in the eye bag. They're kind of doing that now where they like accentuate the eye bags a little bit. Yeah. You do look sick. I look sick. We just got to go with it. I'm going to try to use this blush from House Labs. Look at that color. Wow. Look at that deep. I love that. It's my favorite. It is such a cute berry color, but I'm going to put a little bit on the back of my hand so that I can diffuse it out. If I ever need to play like a sick person. Yeah, and she'll just borrow my makeup bag. I can just borrow Sophia's makeup bag. This is actually great. Now let's try a blush moment. I'm going to try the cream Patrick Ta. It's pretty bright. That's so bright. I'm scared. But it does look maybe slightly warmer. Yeah. How are we feeling about this blush? It just is deep. It's not bad. That's pale. Okay, let's see. Ready? Can you see your hand? That's actually kind of cute. You guys, this is my blonzer and this is her blonzer. Very different shades. It's a bronzer blush sort of hybrid. I mostly just use it as blush. Blush. Okay, not terrible. That's not bad. That is not bad. You just look like you got a tan. I got a tan, again, only on my face. Right. I used to love this, the Glossier blush. I would not get it. The cloud one. The cloud paint. Yeah, cloud paint. I would not get it in this shade, but I would use it. Let's see, you guys. Cute! Uh-huh. At least it like shows up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I look like, oh, you know what I look like? I look like one of those dress to impress faces. Oh, yeah. Once again, as long as I'm not committing an act of racism, I feel good. Well, I mean, honestly, you got past the hardest part. I know. So complexion is done, Sophia. And me. You are glowing to the gods. Round two, eyes. Okay, this one is going to be really gold on me. That's so, that's orange. Like on me, that's going to look orange. I really like this one. I might use this one. This guy. I like that one too. Really pretty rosy colors. I don't use it too often because it's a little cool on me. So that's why I like it. This is like my neutral palette. Neutral palette. That's very kind. Um, I didn't mean to screw you over so bad. Look at what Sophia brought me, you guys. Look what I got. Actually, this is mine. So this is all I get. So this is the Morphe palette that she brought for me. I just got this. She just got this. Where's the nearest bridge? Um, you guys, what am I supposed to do? It's pretty for you. All right, well, you know what? Let's start with brows. For this step, at least our hair color is not horrifically different. I'm going to use the brow wax. Oh, oh, this one's tinted. I'm trying to be like Sophia today. So I'm going to actually shape my eyebrows. Oh, it's not really giving what it's supposed to give. OK. I'm going to use her brow wax. Oh, why is this white? It's white, but it doesn't dry white. OK. Oh my god, I got scared, you guys. No, no, no, no, no. Not another white. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. My eyebrows look fine. They're just like really warm. So like my hair is very cool toned. They do look very warm. Isn't that crazy? And my eyebrows just look the same. They look the same, but that's good. That's good. You know what I mean? We want something to be consistent. A win is a win. OK, eyes, eyeballs. I'm going to try out this Heather palette. I recently discovered that I'm like not as good at eyeshadow as I would like to be. Oh yeah. Smoky eye? Don't ask me. Don't ask. All right. I'm going to put this like deeper color in my crease, or at least attempt to do that. I think on my outer corner. I guess I will also do that. This is the deepest color, and it's purple, but it's gray. But we'll see what happens. Maybe you're going for that like indie like nobody understands me look. If it'll show. Oh, or maybe like bruised. Oh, bruised. Like I just got punched out. Well, this is kind of like a smoky eye. Yeah. Yeah, remember how I said I can't do a smoky eye, you guys? Time to attempt. What would this be on you? This would be like near damn black on you. Yeah. Wow. For my unpigmented friends, what do you do with a bright white? Oh, that is like eyeshadow. Base? Just for fun, should we see what it looks like? Yeah. Wait, do an inner corner moment. Like make it pop, you know? Okay. Right. She's popped. And this is why differences are beautiful and so important. Exactly. We should celebrate our differences. I think what I'm going to do is really embrace this smoky eye and like bring it. Yeah, I think that's the move. Right. Be a little edgy. I'm edgy. And then you can do like an eyeliner moment. Yeah, exactly. You got to lean in. Yeah, you guys, we are the world. We are the children. We are the world. Oh, God. We are the children. Oh, God. Okay, it's subtle. I fear that's the best way to keep it for me. I think you quit while you're ahead. I think I quit while I'm ahead. I should have done that. I'm going to say what, do what you said to do, which is take some of her bronzer and try to pop it in the, let's just see what happens. I'm going to use this sparkly color and I'm just going to pop it on my finger to put it on my lid, I think. My eyelids look a little ashy. That is so crazy. But, um. And it's like, yeah. Crazy. You know what I want to know? Obviously, I am held back by my skill because I don't have crazy makeup skills. Right. So what I would love to see is a makeup artist, like a professional makeup artist, like taking our makeup and like swapping it and seeing what they can do with it. They could probably like really rock it. They might be able to make something work. Okay, I'm going to take a little bit of this deeper color. Okay, well. This is why we try things once and never again. And then never again. That's pretty. Yeah. You're kind of giving Zara Larson two. Yeah. I'm just going to do this and I'm going to put it in my inner corner real quick, real quick. She's adding more, you guys. I'm sorry. I'm going to do that same color, Pink Heart. I'm going to pop that in the inner corner. It's very similar to the results of the 2016 makeup. Yeah. I like this eyeshadow look. That's not bad. Way more dramatic than I would ever wear on a day-to-day, but it's cute. Yeah. And let's move on. We're moving on. Right. I'm going to really embrace this haggard look. I'm going to pull a Noelle because really, she does do this very often is she'll line her eyes. She tight lines her eyes. But I don't do the top. I just do the bottom. Just the bottom. So I'm going to go on my lower lash. I'm trying to do, sometimes Sophia will come by with the, and she'll pull out like a little winged eyeliner moment. A little wing. And I'm so bad at wings, but I'm going to try. All right. I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. That's good. And go on to the other eye. Twins, not sisters, you guys. Remember. Other, other way. Sisters, not twins. And you know what? Right. I'm just putting a little bit of this brown eyeliner on my outer corner a little bit. I would always be in awe of the girls that would wake up every morning and do a winged eyeliner before school. No, for real. I'm like, what do you mean? So my eyes are going to be more like cousins. OK. Mascara. Maybe that'll help. You know, sometimes when you're like halfway through your makeup and you're like, this looks bad. Yes. And then you put on mascara and you're like, hey, OK, actually not too bad. Cute. You look like Kylie Jenner circa 2016. Not to brag. Yeah. OK. I'll take that. I really will. If I went out in public like this, I don't think anyone would be like, they'd be like, oh, she thinks she's darker than she is. But other than that, party. OK, I'm almost done. That's OK, take your time. I like this eye look. I like this. Yeah, it's really cute. OK, status update for eyes. Status update for eyes. This is where we're at. My eyeballs. It looks it looks really cute. It's super cute. And then did the mascara magically fix everything? It did make it better. It made it a little more palatable. Uh huh. For sure. These are the options that I'm giving Noelle for lip combo. This is my day to day lip combo. It's the Huda Beauty muted pink. And then I use a lip balm of some kind. I just like that this one matched this. So that's my day to day lip combo. But it might be really light on you. And then this is a lip stain. And it's like a red. If you want to try that. It's like a peel off lip stain. Oh, I've never used one of those before. I know. OK, so for you, I have my typical lip combo is I always use the NYX lip liner in the shade Club Hopper. This is going to be very dark on you. Very dark on me. And then I'll add like the Benetton and then like a lip gloss or something on top. That's my typical. But I also have these two. Or YSL. YSL, right. Maybe one of those will work. Oh, wow. That was so dark. 2016. OK. This is crazy, you guys. I know. OK, let's try it. OK, this is going to be so dark on me. Ready? This is dark on me. Oh, my God. I know. That's why I'm like, I think I got it in a bad shade. Yeah. Oh, my God. Look how dark. This really made it 2016. This just took it to the next 2016 level. All right, did I do it right? Oh, it's tingling. Oh, it tingles? It's like hardening. Actually, that's not terrible. It's not terrible. It's just it's just. It's giving 2016. It's very moody. Life's about risk. That's cute. I'm just a little goth today. That's so cute. You do look goth. The lip almost like makes you look less tan. Tap it and see if it's dry. Oh, not yet. OK. Because I was like, maybe this will last longer than a normal lip stain. Does it? It's like, I don't know. Oh, oh, oh, she's not ready. Oh, gosh. Guys. OK. Oh, my God. Yeah, yeah, yeah. London club, but you could go outside and nobody's like, oh, that's just her style. Exactly. You know, guys. On the other hand. Oh, oh, oh, you know, you could see the failed lip liner. Yeah, I'm trying to find a nice thing to say about this makeup. Look, the model is very beautiful. Oh, I thank you. Well, what did we take away? What did we learn? What did we learn from this experience? Undertone is important. Very important. That is what made you look more ghostly than even the fact that like the products were too light. I wonder because I wonder if if I was if you were warm. I probably could have gotten away with some of the complexion products. Yeah. But, you know, it's really important to share. But sometimes sharing is not caring. It's not very nice. Actually, it's it's could be considered bullying. Right. So for that reason, I think I think that you should keep. And yeah, thank you.
