Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe video follows a badminton player and their team as they travel to Germany for the start of the Bundesliga season. The vlog covers the journey, the competitive matches for their team, BC Whipperfeld, and the subsequent travel plans to Spain for a sparring session with the national team.
This weekend, we are back competing.
It's been a while, so come along with us
for the first German Bundesliga match of the season.
Also, feeling a little bit nervous.
Not my fault. It must be a random search.
Was it random? Nothing wrong with it.
Just have a dodgy face.
For those that don't know, the Bundesliga is the top league in Germany,
and a lot of Europe's best players play in this league.
So, over the course of the season,
we could be playing pairs that are ranked in the top twenty in the world.
And how it generally works is that you get asked to play for a team,
or you go and ask a team, and then across the year,
you'll fly to Germany several times a year and compete for that team.
So our team is DC Whipperfeld, and this is our sixth year playing for the team.
And by this point, kind of feels like we're all one big family.
So it's currently Saturday evening, and we're playing tomorrow afternoon.
And our flight is boarding. So let's go.
We've just landed. I've just washed my hands.
It's a weird obsession I have after landing after a flight.
Now let me show you this queue for passport control.
We've made it to the hotel.
They did give us the wrong key,
so we accidentally walked in on the team of ours, Cooper, but.
She's okay. Sorry, sorry for waking you up. We'll see you tomorrow for breakfast.
It's Sunday morning, which only means one thing:
a new YouTube video is about to go live.
The video is we tried only doing multi feed for 30 days, and I was just saying
to Jenny, I'm a little bit nervous about this video because it's
a different sort of video from us, and yeah, hopefully you guys enjoy it.
The YouTube video has just gone live,
and we are now doing an Instagram reel about the video too.
We're also replying to your comments. We read them all, so thank you very much.
You know what? We get a lot of nice comments, but sometimes one just makes us.
Extremely happy. This one from Justin.
He's basically bought our weights programs recently,
and he's basically saying that the sessions have really helped him improve his game.
And we know we spent a lot of time creating those programs.
So for us to see it helping people is really rewarding. So Justin,
if you're watching, thank you very much, and hopefully you can keep improving.
It's a grip that went viral. I mean.
No. Yeah, right now.
China. Yeah.
Playing around at home stops your racket falling out of your hand. That's one.
Yeah. You go with that. There you go. We actually change the racket.
The whole changes the weight. Yeah. That is ridiculous.
20 in China, basically all.
All my interviews after the game was about my grip, not about how I won the match.
That's horrible to play with. That's horrible to play with.
Like, and we'll get used to it.
What.
Oh, it's got. There we go.
Like cattle.
Tell you what, with your results recently, it's working.
So we've just got to the hall. It is now less than one hour until our match starts,
and we've just figured out that our last competitive match here
in the Bundesliga was 190 days ago, which was the 7th of March. So whilst yes,
we're very excited to get back on court, also feeling a little bit nervous.
We don't want to let the team down. Want to get a good start to the season.
Let's go. Let's get a good warm up in, and give it our all.
What's give me one thing you did well
and one thing you didn't do that well in that guy in that match.
I think I did well.
Managing it at the end, staying composed, and not being silly in important points.
I think we won the.
Second game, eleven-two, and I think tactically we switched off a little bit.
So no matter how much you're winning by, you need to keep focused all the time
because if you lower your level by just a tiny bit,
then good opponents can punish you.
And for context, Greg played with David Ekelund,
who played like Wang Chang in some of those points. The stop off at the net.
First time we played together. Yeah, yeah. I wasn't.
No, actually, actually in the beginning I was kind of, kind of scared a bit.
Not trying to lie. Maybe that was the reason why I tried a bit before
because I didn't want to things up. I feel like when we were.
Sometimes you know we changed from you taking that on the third shot for serving
and you looking for the net. Yeah, yeah, was much better because I could see it.
Yeah, I feel like the also from like returning from the left side
and then playing the mixed point shot and then me covering the right side
and you covering the left side. That's pretty nice. Yeah, that's really good.
I should have maybe done it more.
I felt like they weren't serving to me in my forehand.
They were either going across or thick. Ah, yeah,
they were serving like a backhand, and it was working. So if it isn't broke.
Greg and David are having a bit of a post-match debrief.
What's on now is Nat with his hilarious racket.
Against Aram Mahmud, what Kai's are on the women's singles down there.
Then the last two matches are Louis second men singles
and me and Greg finishing off with the mixed doubles.
And the score is currently three zero to BC, who are perthalled.
Two hours ten total duration, including the warmup.
Average heart rate one three one.
And what was that? One thousand three hundred calories.
Never seen a can of Powerade before.
Oh yeah. Okay, give me a debrief post-mix doubles.
I think we were a little bit slow in the first game,
and they got a little bit lucky. Would you say a few net cords?
Yeah, T's got three outrageous net cords.
We're having a laugh at by the end, and then I got one back, and I was like, yes.
It was quite fast, so it became a lot of serve and return situations,
trying to get the attack, and then when we did lift.
We didn't want to just keep lifting because we would lose the point,
so we were trying to get blocks in and then go forwards to transition into a front
and back formation. I was maybe still playing a little bit of men's doubles,
but once we got in the mixed doubles flow,
we started using our tactics well, and it was good, successful.
A big seven-nil victory for B.C. Whipperfell today,
and a great start to the Bundesliga season.
Now we'd normally fly straight home back
to England after a Bundesliga match, but not this time.
Do I explain where we are? Where we're going?
We are off to Spain in the morning to Madrid.
The Spanish national team have asked us to come
and do some sparring to help them out.
So we are going there in the morning, and I think we'll bring this club vlog clog.
We'll bring this vlog to a close now,
and we'll start a new one to show you what life is like there, and we're also.
Going to be testing some rackets that we've brought along
with us to see if we want to change. I'll ask for a.
A while now, and there might be a better racket out there, so we want to know.
Yeah, so we hope you've enjoyed this vlog. Do thank you for watching.
Leave a comment, what you've enjoyed most,
what you want to see more of in the future. Hopefully, it's been insightful.
Yes, and lastly, if you've not already, don't forget to smash the subscribe button,
and we'll see you on another video very soon. The Spanish vlog. Bye.
