A behind-the-scenes vlog of a wedding event in North Carolina, focusing on the logistical challenges of an outdoor setup. The narrator emphasizes the importance of over-delivering to clients by preparing for weather contingencies and utilizing high-end audio-visual equipment to ensure a seamless experience despite heat and potential storms.
All right, yo, yo, yo.
Gig, log, vlog.
Oh, I forgot, we need to put the tent and the ego,
at least the tent in the back.
We going to a wedding today.
I gotta make space for this tent.
Yes, we're taking a tent to a wedding.
We should be able to just fit it
right in there in the middle.
We got Jeremiah, we got Gabe.
It's a hot one in North Carolina
and we are outside today, boys.
We outside.
But a little hectic getting out of your bed.
Had to fix some things on the eight-year-old trailer.
But that'll be solved later on this year.
Got new trailer, new vehicle coming too.
So hopefully we'll fix all that stuff.
And a video wall, updating the world.
Updating the world, Gabe.
New speakers also coming.
But anyways, we got the new up lights today.
They didn't actually get up lighting,
but we're gonna show you guys the SQ6s and the SQ4s
live outside in the wild.
Taylor, Bria, who we're celebrating today.
We got an hour and a half drive, so peace.
Shiloh Farms.
It's actually an Airbnb spot.
So we got a tent.
This is flat, so we can roll.
That's good to know because rolling is very important.
All right, here we go.
This is the tent.
So I'm always tasked with the most fun weddings
when it comes to logistics, I swear.
But it's what I get paid to do.
It's great.
And what we're gonna be doing is
this is where cocktail and reception is.
We also have thunderstorms in the picture
for today, potentially.
So, what we're looking at here
is we're gonna set up down here
because I don't want to be down in their area.
We're gonna set up here with our rock and roller table cart.
And that will be used for the reception
with microphones for toast and all of that.
Introductions will also run through here.
But then secondly, unplug ceremonies down there
in the silos, which is completely uncovered.
So we're gonna probably break out the 10 by 20 tent
or at least bring it over there
so we have it and we can quickly pop it up
and throw it over our thing.
These look like they should be on separate circuits,
but you never know.
But we brought the Jackery 5000,
so we should be able to power it that way as well.
Little bit of an adventure today here.
Excited, always love a good challenge.
Welcome to behind the scenes.
You're gonna regret wearing those black shirts today.
Oh, we got clothes to change into.
Oh, it's ridiculous.
They normally require to wear black on black too.
And I'm like, don't wear black today, wear white.
We're gonna go through and we're gonna move some stuff
and get going.
Guys, this is my first time in the wild
using the new SQ4s.
This is the eight unit duffel bag.
And I can already tell you, dude,
this is so nice to load in.
We also got the big SQ6 case there, but.
A camera overheated in the sun there.
We're at the silo, check it out.
Pretty epic ceremony gonna happen here
as well as our dance floor later on.
So some epic things today.
And this is just, if you guys are watching,
this is a little business education
behind the scenes with Rick.
I'm a strong believer in really any business you do
if you are a customer facing business,
dealing with customers, not selling to other businesses,
you need to over deliver to your clients
in terms of providing more than what they actually paid for.
It just, especially in this industry
where it's a one-off event, typically for a wedding.
Today we got SQ4s, SQ6s.
Not only are they brand new light
that I wanna get some content for you guys
to show on these silos outside how bright they are,
but also I brought a 10 by 20 tent
because there's a chance of storms
and also it's outside, I need shade.
And I have it.
It's gonna make everything smooth.
I'm not nickel and diamond for it.
Also brought a Jackery 5000
because I didn't know what the power
was gonna be like at the tent.
And I brought fans, mostly for me.
But when the ceremony starts,
I'm gonna take that ego fan
and make sure that my wedding party and brides
don't need to maybe cool off
before they walk down the aisle.
Only hiccup today is this one step onto the deck,
which is what Gabe is like,
when are we gonna lift this?
So, put the camera down, watch Gabe lift it.
Gabe made that look easy.
I made it look hard.
And we got some things to worry about.
One is there is a 70% chance of severe thunderstorms
coming through in the next hour and a half.
Prelude starts in half an hour.
All of our stuff is right here.
I'll show you in a second.
My 10 by 20 tent is sitting there
ready to deploy at any moment in time.
The only thing that's gonna be out in the open
is over here, our RCF NXL 14 and our AX15 sub.
Conveniently, those are actually outdoor rated speakers.
They have the outdoor covers, which we have in the back,
which I might consider putting on them.
We got all our bags here, got an audio rack.
This stuff, probably gonna be okay.
This stuff, maybe not so much on rain,
this tubes and stuff.
We kind of got it all clustered here,
tent there, so that way, if we see dark clouds,
I'm gonna be honest, we're not taking a chance.
If I look at the radar and there's a good chance of it,
I'm deploying that 10 by 20 tent,
even though I know it's gonna protrude out into this area.
You're talking $10,000 worth of gear right there, at least.
And then our other gear is down there,
but it's under the tent.
And we got an extra tarp down there in case we need it.
And we do have sides for that tent too.
So we can easily make sure that we are taking care of
the funds of weddings.
Side note, first wedding with Bertha.
If you guys don't know Bertha,
you're not a long time person of the channel,
but Bertha is my DJ booth that I custom built back in 2020
with Rain 12s and an S9 at the time.
Now it's an S7, DDJ-S7 mixer in the middle.
But this is the first time using my MacBook.
What did he say?
MacBook.
Yes, my MacBook.
I need to make a whole video on why I want MacBooks.
But we're gonna move the trailer out of the way
over to there.
20 minutes until the ceremony.
Prelude starts.
50 minutes until the actual walks
and my eyes are glued to the sky.
And it's starting to get bluer in that direction,
which is east.
It's a very fast moving storm.
So it will be a very fast storm if it rolls through,
but it could be severe.
But right now I need to get mic synced and change clothes.
Music ready.
Woo.
All right, ceremony's over.
Tent over here, cause it is sprinkling.
There's a chance, but I think it might miss us, hopefully.
We'll worry about setting this up
once we know we're in the clear,
which is right around five o'clock,
which is when cocktail ends.
Me and Gabe need to go get synced up on introduction stuff.
We are kind of tucked in a little bit.
We would push it back, but there is still,
it is still a little bit to go.
It's still slightly raining.
This is our reception area slash dinner area
for this evening.
We'll be doing toast in here and speeches
and our introductions in this little area.
Very cool setup.
Love the vintage vibes.
But anyways, this is what we got.
It's basically a ceremony rig used as the reception rig.
This is what I typically do in situations like this.
This is very common nowadays for our weddings
where we have ceremony in one location,
cocktail in another location,
dinner in another location,
and dancing in a whole nother destination.
Really keeping people moving.
And I really love it for flow purposes.
So right now I set up a Maui Five Go inside
playing their cocktail pre-made mix.
Pretty simple.
And in here is what we do is we move our ceremony setup.
This time it was,
our ceremony is technically where the dance floor is.
So we're able to use the DJ setup for our ceremony.
This would technically be the ceremony setup
and we'd move it from the ceremony
to where the dinner tent reception area is.
That's just kind of how I make the gear flow.
So I got gear in all the spaces and pretty sick.
What I used, I brought a LD systems.
If you guys have never seen this before,
made a whole video on it.
This is the LD Maui 28 mix.
That right there is a full,
I believe six channel mixer,
digital six channel mixer on the back.
You can control it via Bluetooth, via an app.
So I'm running both my microphones into channels one and two
and then my music into three.
Just a simple rev one.
So you get a little physical control
to mix some music during dinner.
Got my MacBook over here.
Just realized my power wasn't connected, but it's a MacBook.
They have battery for days.
As you guys know, MacBook users.
Two handhelds.
We're running everything off the Jackery 1000,
believe it or not, to power all of this.
And this should power it for easily 10 hours.
When we play music, it might be down to six hours,
but we only need to make it an hour.
And we got a Jackery 5000 chilling right there
if we actually need more power.
But this is it.
Introduction's over.
I love fun little micro weddings like this.
It's just like you're more close, intimate,
and you get to have fun with everybody.
This is a little plug to all you new DJs out there.
It's one thing that's got me very far in this career.
And that is being able to handle pressure really well.
And what I mean by that is be flexible.
Don't be strict on things that need to happen.
Just if someone asks for it, sure, absolutely.
Even if it's a really hard thing you need to figure out,
absolutely, I'll figure it out.
I got you.
Literally, the bride just grabbed me
and said she wants to add a speech.
I'm like, got you, we good.
All right, we are assembling our dance floor setup.
Should be pretty frickin' sick
in this little cave of a thing.
We gotta put our tubes around.
And we're using all the brand new Boflighting products
that are coming soon.
These are the first pack.
So this is the SQ4, two times brighter than the S4s,
eight times brighter than the IR4s.
If you haven't seen these yet, they're sick.
We also got the SQ6s down there,
which also are black and white.
It's pretty sick.
And the best thing about it is we're running
the brand new BLX Protocol transmitter.
BLX Pro transmitter.
It's a different style of transmitting.
And this thing is finally battery powered.
It's very similar, if you're in the industry,
to WDMX and CRMX, very similar kind of technology
where you basically just set it up and you're good to go.
Really awesome stuff.
But we're gonna get all of the lights set up.
And we didn't mention this in the keynote,
but if you have the 360 tubes,
they already work with the BLX Protocol.
So we've been planning this for a while,
but the tubes have it built into them
that you can run the BLX Protocol.
So we're gonna be running completely
on the brand new BLX Wireless Protocol.
I'm super stoked for tonight.
I have not put SoundSwitch on my new MacBook,
so we're gonna run back here with BPM detection
with the old Windows computer.
But I'm gonna go check on our party crowd over there.
They're looking pretty lively,
so we'll see what they're up to.
Welcome to the end of the gig report.
Gabe, would you like to give your end of the gig report?
I did good on the lights.
He did, yes he did.
Let's go over to Jeremiah.
End of the gig report.
How was it?
It was amazing, man.
He had these people jumping, shaking,
and gyrating all over the place, man.
Did you just say gyrating?
I said they were gyrating.
What is that word?
What is gyrating?
Give me the dictionary on that.
The dictionary?
Dictionary?
They were shaking their little booty,
I didn't know about that.
We're gonna leave it at that.
Anyways, SQ4s.
Check out these things.
Look at that spotlight.
Look at that, look at that.
These things are so bright.
Hey Gabe, are they bright?
These things are sick.
To be honest, a little mentally drained on that one.
The heat ain't no joke.
We survived it.
We didn't get a rainstorm.
We made it through it.
A little shaken up.
Made it through the mix.
Mix was pretty solid.
I gave my mixing a decent score.
Could've been better.
I had a couple mistakes in there.
Trying to try out some tricks and stuff,
and just pushing too many buttons.
It happens.
And this is the proof of the pudding
to show you guys, basically,
that you're not always perfect at these events.
Even though, you heard it.
The crowd, everybody.
They said it's amazing.
They said it's awesome.
It's the greatest thing ever.
Anyways, we in wedding season.
More gig vlogs to come.
More videos to come.
We're gonna try and do a lot of corporate videos this year
with a lot of the gear that's coming out.
I'm gonna spare you guys the teardown
because this is gonna take a minute.
We're working on it.
Yep, that's gonna take a minute.
