U S Africa Business Forum This is the Moment

The opportunities in Africa are immense. We remain very optimistic about the long-term view in Africa. The returns are there. Africa is much more stable than it has ever been. We're not talking any longer about Africa may rise or Africa is rising, but Africa has now risen. Africa is a powerhouse. Africa is the place of the future. It's the last frontier. Six of 10 fastest-growing economies are in Africa. Over 5% growth expected by 2015. The demographics of consumption are extraordinarily favourable going forward. It has a middle class now that is larger than India. This is the moment for US businesses to invest in Africa. And Rwanda is currently ranked by the World Bank as the ninth easiest place to set up business in the world. This is the moment to forge partnerships. We've got a plant that's world-class that we use to export vehicles to 150 countries around the world. This is the moment to build infrastructure, physical and digital. We've been investing very heavily to connect the East African region. This is the moment for leadership. We have been setting up our political space and creating peace, security and stability. It's now time we focus very much on developing and building the economy. The companies that are able to get in early will reap enormous benefits. This is the moment and the moment starts now.
