TRYING THE GHD MAX STYLER 2 WIDE PLATE FLAT IRON ON CURLY HAIR - HONEST OPINION

Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. If you're new here, I'm Jalissa. In today's video, I'm going to be trying the GHD 2-inch straightener. Let me grab it because I actually just bought it during the Sephora sale. So I think I'm going to post this after the sale is done, unfortunately. But it's such a good buy because the flat iron is like over $200 and I was able to get it for like maybe like $170 or something. Here's the flat iron. It looks so nice. I opened it. I peaked because I had to. I just can't resist myself. But this retails for $250. Let's get right into it. As you can see, my hair is very curly. This is what my hair looks like when I just let it air dry. Like I have not put product on my hair. And this side, as you can see, is definitely looking a little bit worse because this side is not that curly. This side is more curly. I think I really want to compare this to the T3 Micro Single Pass X, which is an inch and a half plate. So it's kind of similar. It's a very big plate, but this is the biggest plate that I have tried yet. So the GHD has just one button. Most of their hair tools have this. I think all of their hair tools just have one button. The heat setting on this is about 365 degrees Fahrenheit. If you use GHD hair tools, you know that you're not going to put too much heat on your hair, which is nice. So it kind of gives you that control that sometimes I need as well. I know that 365 might be a lot though for some people with like thinner hair. So yeah, you might love it or you might hate it. That GHD hair tools only have one heat setting. Okay, so I'm going to use this IGK Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray. I'm going to just spray this to all my hair. This is a heat protectant and it's going to add shine to my hair. I love this. I love to use this when I prep my hair before I add heat to it. Should I take this big section? I mean, this is a big plate. Let's try it. Okay. Okay, so there's one pass. Not bad. I definitely got to go in a little bit more in the roots. So I'm going to do that now. I usually do about two to three passes whenever I straighten my hair, like straight from curly hair, which I actually don't like. I prefer to blow it out first and then use a straightener. But for the sake of the video, I'm going to do it like this because you guys seem to like that more. Okay, so not bad at all. Yeah, I like it. I think it looks very nice. It was very easy to use. It took a very big section. So yeah, let me do one more just because you can kind of flip the ends and get a little bit of a curl at the bottom. Yeah, I like it. I like it so far. GHD hair tools are amazing. This is kind of like the GHD Platinum Plus, which is just one inch. It's a one inch plate. I really like that this is a little bit bigger. I mean, it's double the size. So you are going to be able to get bigger sections and just do your hair a lot quicker. I'm going to do a curl later with this. So stay tuned. I really want to see if this can make nice curls. So yeah, so far, I really, really like it. Look at that. Look how sleek that looks. I already know this is going to straighten my hair super quickly. I'm going to time the other side just to kind of give you guys an idea of how long it's going to take me to do all my hair. I'm looking forward to see how this can work after a blowout too, because that's how I'm going to use this in the future. Like I literally never straighten my hair like this straight from curly hair. This is very smooth. It feels very smooth. It's not like pulling my hair or anything. So yeah, so far, I like it. I definitely feel like it's giving me a nice, very sleek look. So I'm going to finish this side and I'll be back and show you guys a side-by-side transformation, like the curly side and then the sleek side, and then I'll do all my hair and then I'll give you guys my final honest thoughts. So I'll be right back. Okay guys, so I am done with this side. I think it looks so nice. Look how sleek it looks and it was so easy and quick to do. I like that I'm able to get very close to the roots and just kind of smooth out my hair so quickly that you guys saw that. With one pass, it's like almost straight, but I like to do a couple of passes. I used to do at least three passes, but yeah. Alright guys, here's the final look. I love it so much. My hair is so sleek and it looks very, very shiny. It only took me 21 minutes to do one side, so it'll take me maybe like 40 minutes to do all my hair straight from very curly hair. That's not too bad because my hair is very curly. I have a lot of hair. It's very thick, so it does take me some time to straighten it, especially if it's straight from curly hair. But if I blow it out and then use this, I can already see this being kind of like a straightener that I would use a lot in the future. So I'm definitely keeping it, not returning it. And let me do a curl just to see if this will give you a nice curl as well. This is two inches, so I'm interested in seeing if this could give you a nice bouncy curl, but I doubt it because it's a big plate. So let's see. Yeah, it's not going to give you a curl. It gives you a little bit of a wave, but it's not going to give you a curl, which is fine. I wasn't going to use this to curl my hair anyways. I like to actually use curling wands and irons a lot more to curl my hair, but I always like to try doing curls with a straightener just because sometimes when people travel or even if you just want to use a straightener to curl your hair at home, then it's nice to know if it's going to curl it or not. So yeah, what do you guys think? This is the final look. I'm actually going to add a little tiny bit of this IGK Crybaby 72 Hour Frizz Control Smoothing Serum. So this is the first time that I try this. So I'm just going to use a little bit of that, and this is going to help to also bring down the flyaways, add some shine to my hair, even though my hair is pretty shiny already.
