Trump's thigh slap: A worrying new symptom?

President Trump was seen giving his own thigh two firm slaps while boarding Air Force One from Bedminster, New Jersey, after a round of golf. The 80-year-old appeared upbeat, waddling toward the aircraft and flashing thumbs up to television cameras before making the gesture, which quickly reignited concerns online about his physical condition. The reason behind the slaps remains unclear. Trump has not been diagnosed with any condition specifically affecting his legs, though he has previously appeared to struggle rising from chairs and navigating the steps of Air Force One. Social media users offered a range of explanations, with some speculating about nerve issues or a possible stimulation device, while others described it as a long-time habit or nervous tick. The moment comes shortly after a separate report in which a lip reader claimed to interpret an alarming remark Trump made to press Secretary Caroline Leavitt. Last year, the White House physician diagnosed Trump with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and non-serious vein condition. Since that diagnosis, he has been seen wearing heavy makeup on his hands, which critics say is meant to conceal bruising and discoloration. Observers have also pointed to swelling in his ankles, changes in his posture, with some calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked over concerns about his fitness for office. The White House and administration officials have repeatedly rejected claims that his age is affecting his ability to lead. Earlier this year, Trump's niece, psychologist Mary Trump, said her uncle's physical and mental state was worsening, describing his health as being in serious decline. White House spokesperson Stephen Chung dismissed her comments, criticizing her credibility and disputing her assessment. Days earlier, Trump faced similar scrutiny while signing an executive order on birthright citizenship when several social media users questioned his appearance and alertness. The slapping incident also follows criticism of Trump's conduct at Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral. Stay with us for more verified updates and trending news developments.
