Let's jump right back into the tropics here and if you didn't realize this we've already
hit the peak of hurricane season we've already talked a bit about this over the last few days
but we still have a lot of activity to go and we say this because we still have you can see
climatologically speaking we have a lot of activity throughout September typically into
October we're we still have about what maybe 75 ish days left of hurricane season the end
is November 30th officially but we have a ways to go that's why we want to say do not let your
guard down this has been a quiet season and I think it's easy when we have a lack of activity
to kind of get maybe a little lax but it's a it's a good time to remember because of the El Nino
because of the wind shear it's a little more typical that or there's maybe a slightly higher
chance that we could see some storms forming a little closer to home away from that shear
so maybe they form in the Caribbean maybe they form in the Gulf maybe they form in the western
Atlantic and the lead time once they form because they form a little closer to the U.S.
might not be as great compared to a storm that of course forms in the main development region
maybe off the coast of West Africa Cabo Verde Islands that has a trek has a lot of ground to
make up before it gets to our coastline so nothing right now immediate but we do have a wave that
we have been keeping an eye on there it is and it's gone through some wind shear but we've
actually seen the National Hurricane Center bring the chances up just a little bit so now at our
2 p.m. update we now have a 40 percent chance of development here and you can kind of see that
swirl hop in here I'm gonna span this circle just a bit see kind of right in there that kind
of gives you a better handle on where that where it's still disorganized but we are still we are
still seeing compared to yesterday definitely a few more showers and storms around this around
this disturbance so that's what we're going to be watching through the remainder of our week
and you can see where the area of interest is here if I zoom out just a bit so it's still
disorganized and slow development is possible this could potentially become a tropical depression
through the remainder of the week but it is after being in a more unfavorable zone it is going to
and that's what could promote some of that development as we progress through the remainder
of our work week so we're going to watch this but the way the steering in the atmosphere is right
now it's looking like this is going to stay away from the U.S. but you can see it does get does get
pretty close to Bermuda Bermuda is not technically in that that area of the outlook zone so to speak
but it's still something we're going to have to watch closely I'm just bopping over to YouTube
real fast I see Tony you're saying you're flying into Melbourne that's awesome well I'm glad you're
coming back and again I hope you have a wonderful trip in hopefully the weather the weather does not
give you any issues I mean that that goes for all of us right if anyone has any plans
so if you have any speaking of plans if anyone has any plans to travel to Bermuda over the next week
something to watch right now doesn't look like a huge concern aside from just unsettled closer to
the island but it's something we'll definitely want to watch if if you do have some travel plans
to Bermuda over the next week
