This is exactly what Nuggets fans wanted to hear...

This is exactly what Nuggets fans wanted to hear.
As last year, one of the biggest problems surrounding the Nuggets was one of their key
starters, but now things have changed.
Well, we also have an injury update on a breakout player for the Nuggets that they actually
just spent money on, which had a direct impact on them losing Peyton Watson.
So obviously we are hoping this team is healthy.
An injury derailed one of the better Nuggets players this past season.
And because of that, there's been a lot of talk about making trades, trades that would
cost a first round pick just to move on from the player who you all saw in the thumbnail
in Christian Brown, who obviously has all of a sudden become a very, very, very divided
opinion type of guy who the Nuggets have right now because of the year he had last year.
He was injured, but some fans are upset anyway.
And guys, we're going to break down the new update on Brown and White.
This is exactly what you want to hear on him right now.
But real quick, make sure to go ahead and subscribe to Nuggets Digest.
If you are part of that percent that is not subscribed, 70% of viewers watch this or not.
It is completely free to do.
We're on that road to 5,000 subscribers, guys, and we're going to have a ton of fun while
we do it.
And jumping into the video, there is a lot to look at because Christian Brown has been
someone who obviously fans have divided opinions on for a little bit now.
Last year, he was not an effective player whatsoever.
He wasn't hitting his shots from three.
He was timid.
He just wasn't the same guy who the Nuggets had had the year prior who looked like a breakout
starter for the team and someone who's going to be a long-term piece for a while.
But then we did get new updates on Brown, stuff that seemed like it's going to go back
to the Christian Brown that we all know and love.
Denver Nuggets did mention on Twitter, early word at a Nuggets training camp is that Christian
Brown looks more athletic and explosive.
Jamal Murray also said he's improved as a dribbler and a ball handler, and both are
potentially season-altering factors for this Nuggets team that was not having the Christian
Brown that they needed.
With Brown even himself saying that, I jump off of my left leg, and it was my left ankle
that was injured.
And I've jumped specifically off my left ankle my whole life.
Your explosion comes back slowly, and I think we're getting really, really close.
So not only is Brown trusting his body again and feeling all right, but he's also worked
at every other facet of his game.
So he's not looked at as a guy who the Nuggets made a terrible, terrible contract decision
on.
And if he is able to bounce back, DMV or Nuggets, they're absolutely right.
It does alter their season.
It actually gives them a chance to win the finals, better than just a 4% chance.
And guys, thank you to Kalshi for sponsoring this video, guys.
On Kalshi, you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional
sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcomes of events across sports, politics, and even
the weather.
For example, the Nuggets winning the 2027 NBA championship, which with a healthy Christian
Brown helps a lot.
Not only does it add another very good on ball defender in the mix with Spencer Jones
with Alpha Diallo, who looks really good so far.
They really also do get a guy who was such a net positive when they won in 2023 and has
been since then.
So overall, this is an excellent situation for the Nuggets to see Christian Brown start
to bounce back.
And if you are to trade $25 on the Nuggets winning the 2027 championship, you can make
$585 if they do win.
And guys, I mentioned $25 because if you're interested in trying out Kalshi, make sure
to click the link in the description or pinned comment and use code DigestNBA when signing
up for Kalshi and you can get $55 when you trade your first 25.
It's an excellent deal.
It helps the channel out.
Everybody wins and especially the Nuggets win the NBA finals.
But guys, here's the thing.
We look at Christian Brown.
We look at where he was at last year and there's no doubt it wasn't a good season.
It was objectively bad.
He was injured.
He wasn't performing.
He was timid.
And even still, the numbers he put up, if you hide the three point shooting, don't look
terrible.
12 points, five rebounds, 2.7 assists, but he was afraid to dribble the ball.
And part of that's his explosiveness wasn't there.
And he also was timid shooting.
He was clearly in his head about it and he only shot 30% from three, an absolutely terrible
mark for a guy who's done much better at that in his career.
The defense also suffered a bit as well because he was dealing with that injury and we just
saw the shooting fall off a proverbial cliff.
I mean, a guy who overall still had great percentages everywhere else.
He was not as effective from the field.
I mean, above the break, only shooting 28% from three.
And in that left hand corner, shooting 25% from three, it's just not going to cut it
at all.
The man was inefficient where it mattered most.
I mean, he was good in the mid range, but under the rim, he was terrible.
Like he just wasn't able to be the same Christian Brown we know.
But Brown did say this, I work on ball handling every summer.
It probably did get better.
I think that's natural, a healthy summer of playing and playing more pickup basketball.
So obviously he is trying to get back to the basics, which does work for a guy like Brown.
I mean, Brown has to play a role.
He doesn't have to be a superstar for this team, but he has to get back to his role.
And Ryan Blackburn did mention that Christian Brown, when asked about how a great offense
can get better, he said, me bringing up the ball and taking care of the ball, not making
it just on Jamal or just on you, having more people do things.
So it's not the same thing all year.
Said last year, it was difficult entering the playoffs coming off an injury where he
hadn't been bringing up the ball and handling all year saying, I need to be a guy where
Jamal's looking for me to bring it up, to help him out.
And I know that will help and help his legs in the fourth quarter of a big playoff game.
The Nuggets, I mean, it's easy to say, Jamal has not played that well in the playoffs recently
over the last couple of years.
He's also been the only ball handler on the team.
That's a direct correlation.
We can't sit here and pretend like it's not.
I mean, Tyus Jones was not effective enough.
Hopefully we do see that.
I mean, Ryan Nembhard is able to just come in as a two way guy and be able to be a great
ball handler.
And yeah, Christian Brown can handle the ball and obviously DeMar DeRozan is going to help
take some pressure off.
But at the same time, Brown can also handle the ball.
It just helps that Jamal's not going to constantly be this guy they have to default to every
single game when it's like, we need someone to bring the ball up and literally no one
else can do it.
Jamal come storming down the court to come get the ball and then figure out when teams
are trying to trap you because no one else is going to dribble it.
It's one of those things where you can't win like that.
You can't win with one ball handler.
I know Jokic makes it a little bit different, but still, you need more than one ball handler.
And I mean, we did see more talk on this as well.
We see Chris Dempsey mentioning right here.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate Christian Brown keeping receipts?
Asked what he learned fighting through injuries last year, he said, I feel like last year
I learned a ton.
I learned a ton about myself and I learned a ton about a lot of people.
Blackburn also would mention after that that Cam Johnson and Christian Brown were getting
shots up after practice together and HP basketball.
They mentioned a new update as well that Spencer Jones actually tweaked the hamstring and was
held out of practice.
Obviously, I saved that till the end because it's not the world's biggest deal, but it
is an update.
And you know that we do love to go over updates.
And if Jones does go down, I think we'd even see Brown's minutes go even up.
Let's say this was in the playoffs just because now with Christian Brown, this is a man who
had a 15 point season shooting nearly 40 percent, 30, 50 percent from the field.
He's been great.
He's been a very good defender of points, too.
He has had good years.
It's just a matter of being able to find that guy who he was in the 20, 24, 25 season healthy.
I think he can.
But it does go further.
A guy like Spencer Jones would be a common sub for Christian Brown because he's also
a very good defender and he has shown that he does have a little bit of a three point
shot as well.
Jones has not played a ton, but that's going to change this year on a two year, 12 million
dollar contract.
He's going to get actual minutes this season.
And I mean, he shot 40 percent from three.
He shot 50 percent from the field.
He got nearly a steal per game.
Jones did show that he is a solid player overall and someone who will probably spend a lot
of time with the starting unit when Christian Brown comes off as well.
He's someone who will be next to DeRozan a lot.
And I do think Spencer Jones is in line for a solid year and especially after matching
the restricted free agent contract.
He better be.
