This Is A DISASTER For The Jets...

Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe New York Jets suffered a devastating 28-25 loss to the previously winless Miami Dolphins, effectively ending their playoff hopes. The defeat has intensified scrutiny of head coach Aaron Glenn and the coaching staff, highlighting a pattern of poor decision-making and tactical failures that have left the team with a 2-5 record.
This was a disgrace for the New York Jets.
Aaron Glenn trying to continue to build any sort of optimism
and reason to keep him around
completely failed,
embarrassed himself as the Jets lose in excruciating fashion 28-25
to the winless Dolphins going into today.
And this effectively ends the Jets' chances at making the playoffs
and also seriously heightens the questions about Aaron Glenn
and the future of this New York Jets coaching staff.
What's going on guys? I'm Josh Byrne. You're tuned into Jets Digest.
Guys, thank you for all the support and engagement for me
and Chris Gallagher on the channel. If you're one of the 65% of viewers

But, look, this was, I mean,
it's a disgrace, as Joe Benningo would say.
There is no better way of putting it.
The Jets lose 28-25 to the winless Miami Dolphins.
And when we look at today's box score, I mean, this was,
yet again, another contest of failed opportunities.
Geno Smith, again, he posts solid numbers.
He did not play as well as the numbers suggested.
He made some big mistakes.
But, again, there were some mind-numbing decisions
from this Jets coaching staff.
You look at what the pregame stakes were,
Zach Rosenblatt put it perfectly.
The Jets win by a lot, and you would have felt
a little better about this team.
The Jets win by a small margin.
They at least live to fight another day.
Jets lose ugly.
Aaron Glenn has arguably never needed a win more than he did today.
He didn't get it.
And, I mean, you talk about the expectations for this team,
and obviously they weren't Super Bowl expectations by any means.
But what did we want to see?
I think if you would have asked most Jets fans, they would have said,
competitive football for the season not to be over by Halloween again.
And unfortunately, guys, I hate to say it,
the season's effectively over before Halloween again.
We will not enjoy any sort of playoff race.
We know now that the standings are done.
And now it's about, will Aaron Glenn be the coach?
What do we have in Cade Klubnik,
despite the fact that Geno's been all right?
And all we're going to hear about is the negative
and futility of this team
and their decision-making and their process.
Are the Jets a better team than last year?
Absolutely, undisputably.
But they're 2-5.
They are 2-5, and they just gave
the Miami Dolphins their first win of the year
after they never had a lead at all going into this game.
It's pretty fair to say that the Jets will
not be breaking their playoff drought this year.
I bought no for $25 on Kalshi.
But, you know, essentially,
there's really no reward here for this trade
because it's a 96% chance of no.
And I would say that's even being generous
to give the Jets a 4% chance.
You see the market there.
But, guys, again, if you want to trade on the futility,
take out some emotional insurance on the New York Jets
then you can check out our sponsor Kalshi
because there you're trading directly against other users
not the house like traditional sports

So let's look at what's next for the New York
Jets. And look, they face the, well,
this is just for October, but they face the Las Vegas Raiders
next week. You would think that should be a win.
I don't know. I don't know how you can feel good
about anything at this point.
This was a game today that I thought the Jets absolutely should
have won and again the end of the first half what
are what are what is Aaron Glenn doing you let the
Miami Dolphins go down the field
but you go to the half with three timeouts and I'm not gonna kill
the defense was the defense great today
no but in the second half they stood up they forced three
consecutive punts the end of the first half
was ugly for the Jets defense no doubt about it but
there was no reason to go into halftime with three timeouts
and Zach Rosenblatt pointed out the Jets
up three timeouts and let the Dolphins run it all
the way down to 20 seconds end of half Aaron Glenn
three timeouts in his pocket
but hey the Jets futility on offense in the beginning of the
second half led by Frank Reich they weren't shy about wasting
a timeout there and then you're
down multiple scores in the second half
and you basically already wasted a timeout this late
half trend is something that we have talked
about every single week they've been outscored
107-6. That's not a typo. They've been outscored 107-6
in the final two minutes of the first half
during Aaron Glenn's tenure as a head coach.
So has Aaron Glenn made some improvements to the Jets
defense? Has he had his moments as a play caller on defense?
Yes. But you look at the record,
they're 2-5. They were 3-14 last year.
Now we're doing the math every week of what his record is.
It's 5-19.
And you wonder, well, how can he be that bad?
How can someone be that garbage?
107-6 in the final two minutes of a half is why.
Unbelievable.
It just continues to happen.
I want to hear about roster constraints.
This team invested a lot of money in the offseason.
This team had prime draft capital.
They still don't use Kenyon Sadiq for some reason.
Garrett Wilson gets completely lost in the Jets' offense.
Zero first half targets for Garrett Wilson.
You wonder, oh, well, you know, the Jets,
they had a slow start to the offense.
Not really.
They were moving the ball.
Geno Smith threw a brain-dead interception.
I don't want to completely kill him.
He's mostly took care of the football this year.
But again, we talked about it all week.
Where has Garrett Wilson been in this offense?
Where has Kenyon Sadiq been in this offense?
And yet again, they are MIA.
And I'm not putting this on them because you see Adam Archuleta
and Spiro Ditas pointing it out the entire game.
They're getting open.
The Jets are not scheming any place for them.
Shout out Mason Taylor.
He looked good.
Great.
Garrett Wilson is indisputably the best player on this offense.
Omar Cooper, he looks great.
And I'm really happy about him.
But unfortunately, the takeaway I am getting from this season so far
is that yes, the Jets are a better team.
Yes, they have more talent.
Yes, there are reasons to be encouraged about the future.
But just as much conviction that I have in those positive elements,
I'm building more and more conviction that this coaching staff
is not long for this organization.
Here's what Aaron Glenn must answer.
He needs to answer a lot.
These are just some of the questions.
Why did the late half timeout sequence unfold that way?
Why has it never been cleaned up through all these weeks?
Why do they keep recurring?
What changes is he going to make before next game?
Because we haven't seen many changes.
The Jets still suck in short yard situations, by the way.
They either have a delay of game penalty
or have to waste a timeout every week.
And then you think back to these errors that don't correct themselves.
And it shouldn't even be a question.
I mean, I put it out there, but this isn't a question.
Is Aaron Glenn on the hot seat? Yes.
Now, I don't believe in firing coaches midseason
because I don't think there's really a reward to doing that.
I don't think it turned out well for the Jets
when they did it with Robert Sala.
not saying that if they kept him around during
or during that season it would have answered things
but no I don't think they should fire Glenn during this season
but I'm feeling very confident Glenn
will not be around next year and I'm also feeling
good about him not being around next year Aaron
Glenn has not won a game against an AFC East
opponent he's now 0-8 the Miami Dolphins did
not have a lead against anybody going into this game
and if you look at the season trajectory
it's going downhill it's going to take a lot you
for every game the Jets should win on paper that
they lose they have to reverse it with a game that they should lose
but win and there is still a lot
of season left it's the NFL crazy things can happen
but we weren't asking for playoffs this
year we were asking for competitive football we
were asking to not have the season end before
halloween and it certainly feels like it has
but let me know what you guys think there'll be a lot
of discussion is aaron glenn on the hot seat
and how is he going to to answer this test how is he
going to manage the clock and key downs better how are the jets
and frank wright going to feature
their offensive playmakers more
no and i don't think aaron glenn does comment below let me know
what you guys think
and as always guys even through the continued futility let's go jets
