Video Summary
AI GeneratedNBA media day was filled with chaotic moments, from LeBron James discussing his career aspirations and the reasons he overlooked the Knicks, to Steph Curry's frustration with questions about the Warriors' playoff prospects. The event also featured lighthearted distractions, including leaked reporter comments, player fashion choices, and Giannis Antetokounmpo's struggle with iguanas.
Starting to see how the pieces fit.
That's disturbing.
This media day got completely out of control.
LeBron dropped a bomb.
You know, I have visions of definitely, you know, playing in a garden,
finishing my career in a garden.
One of the best places I've ever played.
I think it's the number one arena in the world.
While Luka is relieved that he's finally gone.
How does this feel this day with LeBron James not being here?
It feels great.
Obviously, it's a new challenge.
And Steph Curry walked out of the press after an annoying question.
I'm just wondering what you think about that.
Do you feel the freedom?
That's what I think about that.
Damn.
But let's start off in Sacramento,
where a couple of female reporters of the team got caught on a hot microphone,
thirsting over Ben Simmons and Zach Levine.
Um, and that's what comes with being Ben Simmons, so.
That's what comes with being Ben Simmons.
Oh, yeah.
He's like a looking dude.
His skin's like so smooth.
I was like, damn, no tattoos?
What about Zach Levine, then?
Zach's cute, but his personality ******* annoys me.
He just seems like he's hella like a prick.
He's beautiful.
I actually think I put Ben above Zach.
Probably because.
Ben over Zach.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, he's very smooth.
I was like, what's your lotion?
And the skincare regime.
Right, the skincare regime.
It's safe to say that they all got fired first thing in the morning,
or at least relegated to agriculture or fishing news.
But what about SGA's hairstyle?
He had a buzz cut while playing for Canada in July this summer.
So how in the world did he grow a full set of braids in less than three months?
That's humanly impossible.
I guess we're faking a lot more than fouls these days.
La Pops also switched things up, freshly dyeing his beard for media day.
This is how a normal 40-year-old beard looks like three months ago on his podcast.
And this is him yesterday.
But that wasn't a big splash.
But what he told me that there was another team that didn't make the list
because of what happened back in June.
You know, I have visions of definitely, you know, playing in a garden,
finishing my career in a garden.
One of the best places I've ever played.
I think it's the number one arena in the world as far as a basketball player.
But after they beat San Antonio, I was like, I couldn't do it.
It wouldn't feel right.
Y'all wouldn't let me lay that down at all, you know.
But much respect to the Knicks.
Obviously, unbelievable team, unbelievable players.
Shout out Jalen Brunson.
Love that guy.
He's unbelievable.
But yeah, I'm happy where I'm at and I'm looking forward to it.
What he's saying is that the huge media backlash of him joining the champions,
something that KD experienced back in 2016, is what caused him to overlook the Knicks.
Damn, he also made it clear that he's not making all the sacrifices
just to fall short of winning a title.
In order for us to be great, we have to do things that are just not comfortable.
We have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
That is the best way to expedite being great.
You have to fall in love with doing things that's uncomfortable.
And if we can do that, then we can be a great team.
If we don't do that, then we'll be like, oh man, it was a great team on paper
and we had a lot of great talent and we lost in the second round.
I don't want to do that.
I didn't leave my family to lose in the second round.
I know that for sure.
So work needs to be done and I'm ready to put the work in.
One thing's for certain, the Sixers starting five looked really scary yesterday.
You got four superstars and one freak of an athlete,
Youngin, that you don't really know who's the main guy.
Going into training camp, do you guys know who this team is or who the alpha is?
And is that something that matters?
And is that something that's going to come play out over time?
Next question.
Well, that was awkward.
But wait till you hear the strange sounds that suddenly broke out
while Austin Reeves was speaking to the media.
How have you guys kind of gone about starting to see how the pieces fit?
Oh, that's disturbing.
Really excited about what we have.
You know, obviously, you know, being around guys for this is impossible.
It really is impossible to concentrate and talk after that.
On the other hand, Luka is 100% sure on how he feels after LeBron James left the team.
How does this feel this day with LeBron James not being here
and now the focus being on you being a leader and also Austin?
It feels great.
Obviously, it's a new challenge.
You know, I was in this position in my career a lot of times, so it's not new to me.
But I feel great.
I feel excited and I'm like I said, I'm ready to go.
It's been a long time since I played basketball, so I'm ready.
Him feeling great has nothing to do with LeBron leaving the team, obviously,
but it will definitely be interesting to see how
Doncic leads the snow-time Lakers into the new season.
On the contrary, Steph Curry wasn't feeling this underestimating question.
Hey, Steph, Steve was saying that he kind of likes
that no one expects you guys to make the playoffs
and that there's a little bit of freedom to flying under the radar.
That's how bad it is?
To make the playoffs?
From championship to...
I'm just wondering what you think about that.
Do you feel the freedom?
That's what I think about that.
He's got a point.
They didn't improve the roster as much as Dubs fans might have expected,
but getting Yaxa Lenderborg, a 23-year-old rookie who's game ready
and potentially getting both Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody in the lineup early in 2027
still makes a very respectable roster.
And speaking of Jimmy, he was back with his media day shenanigans.
Earrings, can you tell us about those?
My earrings?
Yeah.
The ones that they told me to take out?
They're just earrings, you know?
Yeah.
I got some new earrings this summer and I was like, you know what, I'm just going...
Oh, I got some new piercings when I was out with my ACL.
I had a bunch of new ear piercings.
I don't really do tattoos, but piercings, I like piercings.
I won't get my nose pierced or anything like that, but ears...
What was the motivation?
Was it just, you know...
Boredom.
That's what happens.
And then they're like, you got to leave this piercing in for a year.
And I'm like, oh, what a coincidence.
I'm out for a year.
And that's why I went and got some new piercings.
That's just Jimmy doing Jimmy stuff.
But check out Brandon Podjimski.
Bro showed up looking like Julius Caesar, but with a fade.
This comment on Instagram almost killed me.
That's hilarious, but I hope he changes it soon.
Let's continue with the high spirit by reminiscing of Kawhi's iconic laugh.
I'm curious, the last time you got introduced to us,
that iconic laughing clip that came out.
I just always wondered what you thought about that.
And I'm just curious about what you think about the longevity of that.
Whatever is making people happy, I guess.
If I can make people laugh with my laugh, that's okay with me.
Personally, I'm not embarrassed about it.
We was talking about making a little show.
Let's see who got the funniest laugh through the microphone.
I would watch that show.
And I will definitely keep an eye on the Spurs,
especially after Wimby said this yesterday.
You can tell that he's hungrier than ever.
It's going to be scary times for the rest of the league.
And another team that should be on the rise are the Timberwolves,
now with Lamello and Kuminga joining Ann, Jaden and Rudy.
From here on out, it's going to be even scarier.
And outside of winning and losing,
how do you go about evaluating if you had a good game that night?
And does that answer change as you get older?
Yeah, that's a good question.
I think when I was younger, it used to be how many points I had, how many points I had.
Now it's like I look at the plus minus when I was on the floor.
And really just about how good I was playing defense that night.
I feel like the last couple of years I couldn't play defense as good as I wanted to
because I was bringing the ball up.
At times I had to score all the time.
I was super tired.
But now I got Lamello.
I got point guard.
So I don't really got to bring it up at all.
I can go to the corner for three, four plays in a row and just guard the best player.
So I feel like this year I'm going to be great in my game a lot different.
Kuminga brings another defensive-minded type of guy to the starting lineup
because now you got me, Jaden, Kuminga and Rudy.
And Lamello is really good off the ball.
I feel like with Rudy, Lamello is going to be even better on the ball.
But the real jam is in the East, starting off with Giannis' newfound problem.
If the Iguanas keep on coming, I'll probably move.
Maybe get an apartment right across the street.
So there won't be no pools, no grass, none of that stuff.
And somebody told me when I came here in July,
somebody told me they were kind of cute.
They're not cute.
Sorry.
They're not cute, you know.
They're scary.
He'll manage the Iguanas, but I'm not sure the league is ready for him,
Bam and the rest of the Heat.
But if we have to single out the biggest losers so far, it's definitely the Detroit Pistons.
Jalen Durant didn't show up yesterday after declining the $200 million offer
and they're still in a stalemate.
This can only affect the rest of the team in a bad way.
And speaking of bad, the Lonzo Ball situation just got worse.
He said something on a podcast recently that can put an end to his career.
If you want to know more about it, check out my last video right here
and I'll talk to you in the next one.
Peace out!
