Hello guys and welcome back to my channel and welcome back to a brand new fashion video. In
today's video I'm doing one of your favourites. It is the absolute ultimate autumn capsule wardrobe
video. These are my absolute go-to essentials that I rely on when it comes to my autumn wardrobe and
usually these videos always get a really good reception from you guys because I think it's
nice to see. As much as it's really fun to you know buy new clothes and you know play around
with trends, I think fundamentally what makes a good wardrobe is having good basics. So I have
filmed this video like I've never filmed it before. I usually try to condense them into sort of the
top 20. No, we've gone bigger this year. I've actually managed to condense it down to I think
around about 30-32 pieces with this because I really have given you my ultimate collection of
clothes that even if you were to take away the rest of my belongings out of that dressing room,
I would still comfortably be able to dress throughout the entire autumn period if I only
had this in my wardrobe. So I really hope you enjoy this video guys. The way I'm going to film
this is to show you the pieces and then I'm going to put up some inspo pics for you on screen so
that it gives you a little bit of an idea of how to style each piece that I'm showing you. Some of
these pieces are old and have been in my wardrobe for years so I might not be able to link the exact
one for you in the description box but I will always try and find something as similar as
possible and link an alternative instead. But otherwise guys, let's jump straight into the video.
Let me show you my ultimate capsule wardrobe. So let's start with tops. Starting with the
classic white t-shirt, truly the base layer that starts off the majority of my outfits
and my favourite one has to be the heavyweight t-shirt from Arquette. It's just one I always
come back to. I do also like the H&M premium t-shirts. I've had a couple of those now and
they have really lasted. They're really good as well just as a slightly different alternative for
in case you can't get delivery for Arquette. But yeah, as I said, classic base in everyone's
wardrobe. You want one that's tailored to your body so I prefer one that's a little bit boxier
because I'm quite a short torso on top. I like to add a little bit of shape by wearing something
slightly boxier. Obviously nobody wants a see-through t-shirt either so make sure the quality
is there when it comes to that and honestly you cannot go wrong. Okay, second up it has to be
a lovely turtleneck. Now I'm showing you my chocolate brown one from And Other Stories.
The perfect base layer. It's not a chunky knit, it's really really fine. I wear this in the exact
same way I'd wear a t-shirt. You can wear it on its own, lay it underneath blazers, underneath jackets,
whatever colour you feel you would get the most wear out of. So for some, perhaps it might be
black, perhaps it might be cream or tan. For me personally, I find black sometimes a little bit
harsh on my skin tone, my hair colour and I think chocolate brown is the perfect dark neutral for
me. Next up it has to be a crisp white shirt. However, I think you also, you just can't go
wrong with having a blue one in your wardrobe. I love pairing blue with chocolate brown in the
autumn time and a white shirt layered underneath knitwear, underneath a blazer. It's just, it's as
used as a t-shirt is. I love how shirts look on their own but for me in the autumn winter time,
it's all about the layering and I just don't think you can be a shirt layered underneath a jumper at
this time of year. My white shirt is from With Nothing Underneath. The quality of their shirts
are just fantastic, not see-through. They do different styles, you know, you can have something
a little bit more fitted from them. I tend to go more towards their boyfriend sort of shirts.
I find that they're not too long to tuck in, they look really nice underneath knitwear and they just
seem to suit my frame a little bit better. Or my blue one, like the one here, is from Massimo
Duty and I, again, their poplin cotton shirts are just really good in my opinion. Okay, still in the
tops category but moving through to knitwear. In the autumn time, I always love to have a knitted
t-shirt. This is my cream one from LilySilk. It is so soft, it's like a cashmere blend and this is
so good for when it's not quite warm enough for a cotton t-shirt or you want to add a little bit
of texture, a little bit of warmth into your outfit, a knitted tee really is perfect. It also feels
slightly more elevated than a regular tee. Tucking this into some tailored trousers, throwing a blazer
over the top, it just feels slightly more lifted for perhaps an office or a work environment or
if you just wear it on its own with a pair of jeans to casual it down a little bit. It's just
perfect in the autumn time. Second up, it's got to be a cardigan. This is one of my favourites, one of
my go-tos, my brown alpaca knit cardigan from And Other Stories. They do this in multiple colours.
I also have this in grey, I have it in yellow which I love to wear in the spring but at this
time of year certainly it's got to be a brown one in my wardrobe. I get so much wear out of these
even if I don't wear it fully done up to the top and just want to wrap it around my shoulders,
it really is the perfect essential for me. And then a couple of alternative knit pieces I love
to have, something like this, like a quarter zip or a v-neck depending on your preference. For me,
I really do enjoy a quarter zip because obviously you can wear it up, you can wear it down.
I love how this looks layered over the top of a shirt. This one is from Sazan and I also really
love about this one the zip on this. Can you see that little pearl zipped detail? I feel like it
just feels a little bit more premium than something with just a regular zip and I love it. This
layered over the blue shirt is just such a match made in heaven or just wearing it by itself with
a pair of jeans looks really nice as well. And then of course you need a regular crew neck jumper.
I have gone for navy but truly there are crew neck jumpers in my wardrobe in various colours.
I really found it hard to pinpoint one but I thought I'm going to be showing you a lot of
cream, a lot of brown so it's nice to be able to show you an alternative but as I said when it
really do need to reflect you and your preferences and what you wear because what works for me,
my skin tone and my personal preferences might not work for you. However, I think most of us
can get away with a nice navy knit. This one's from Sazan, again looks nice on its own, looks
really nice layered, a true essential. Okay, let's move on to bottoms. Starting with jeans, I'm going
to show you my current favourite jeans that just, they are literally what I think of when I don't
know what to wear in the morning. First thing I usually do, reach for a good pair of jeans, reach
for a good base layer like my t-shirt that I showed you in the beginning and then it's amazing
how many outfits suddenly come to fruition when you just start with some really good basics.
Starting with a good pair of ecru coloured jeans. These ones are just from Zara, I love them. Again,
when it comes to shape and fit of jeans, you have to go with what your preference is. I personally
love a good pair of straight leg jeans. I like a pair that has a slight crop at the ankle to give
me the option of wearing ballet flats or trainers and then I also do like a straight leg with a full
length leg as well. So these do have a slight cropped leg, they're perfect for taking you from the
summer to the autumn when you don't want to wear all dark colours yet, you want to keep a few of
your outfits light and bright. I think ecru jeans are just a must. And then obviously you need to
have some good blue denim jeans. Both of these pairs are from With Nothing Underneath, as you can
see, different colours. So starting with this one with a slightly lighter shade. I love their straight
leg jeans, these are a full length, they fit really, really well. I believe these are a new model, I think
they're called the Crawford Jeans, on their website. Well worth the money. The fit of them are just
perfect, I really do adore them. But when it comes to the winter for me, a good dark pair of indigo
blue jeans are also an absolute must. For me, I would rather reach for a really dark blue pair of jeans
than a pair of black jeans. Again, I find that black black denim just doesn't really do anything
for me, so I much prefer a really dark blue. I also think it's nice to add a bit of colour where
you might opt for more of a neutral wardrobe. It's nice to have some different shades of blue in there
when it comes to the bottoms. Something else I love to have in my wardrobe is a satin maxi skirt.
Now I have opted for brown here, but as I said, you don't have to go for this colour, but this really
does put in a shift in my wardrobe. It is so easy to style, whether you want to dress it up for the
office, make it casual for the weekend with an oversized jumper, make it feel more fancy, maybe
with the chocolate roll neck and a pair of knitted knee-high boots if you're going for
drinks or dinner. It really is a versatile piece to have in the wardrobe. I have gone for a maxi length
but you might prefer midi. I just personally reach more for this sort of length when it comes to
skirts, but both really can work in your wardrobe. Okay, now let's talk tailored trousers because
I have to say when it comes to brands and a wool blend tailored trouser, LilySilk really does stand
out for me. So I have two pairs from LilySilk, both a wool blend so they're not see-through at all
when it comes to the ivory. I know some people have concerns when it comes to ivory trousers
about how see-through they're going to be. These are just amazing, I love them and because they are
that wool rather than like a regular sort of cotton material, they really add that bit of texture and
warmth to outfits which I think in the autumn that is one of the real differences going from summer
to autumn. You want the warmer textures, the wool, the suede, the leathers and this is a really great
way to incorporate it into your autumn wardrobe. As I said with tailored trousers, I don't think you can
go wrong with having a chocolate pair and an ivory pair. I just think these two together, oh these
colours, they're just a match made in heaven. So these are definitely my kind of most reached for
trousers and then this one might be a little bit rogue, however I stand by it. It is my pair of
black tailored shorts. These really come into their own in the autumn because one of my favourite
outfit formulas at this time of year has to be a pair of black shorts with black tights, my knee
high riding boots and either a blazer or a knit, a jumper. It really is a go-to particularly in
early autumn when it's not too cold outside and it just gives you a little bit of an alternative.
It's a nice excuse to get your legs out a little bit. We're going to be covered up throughout autumn,
winter so I just love a pair of black tailored shorts. Again you can dress them up, dress them
down, you could wear a nice roll neck with this, you can wear your oversized blazer, a trench coat,
whatever your heart desires but they are a firm favourite in my wardrobe and these ones are from
Goelia. Okay moving on to jackets, coats, I'm going to put blazers as well in this category.
So blazers, a couple of blazers that I cannot be without in the autumn, starting with a good tan
coloured blazer. Again it adds the warmth and its colour to your outfits whether you're going to the
office or just going out to meet the girls. A blazer is definitely an essential and although
I wear blazers pretty much all year round I do think what colour you wear really dictates the
seasonal mood that your outfit gives so for me in the autumn it's all about a rich tan colour. I mean
you may choose to have black or grey or navy, I think they all have a place in your wardrobe but
for me this colour just screams autumn and I love it and then I also think a good wool blend blazer
is a must. I'm not necessarily saying it has to be a tweed or a herringbone however I do think having
that as a little bit of an alternative to a plain blazer is a must. This is my Fairfax and Favour
hazel blazer and I just love the little, the kind of texture and the tones that it adds because it's
not just plain, it is more of a houndstooth kind of tweed blazer. It again, I just feel like this
kind of pattern just screams autumn to me so this one will always be a favourite in the autumn,
caps your wardrobe. Speaking of textures, a good suede jacket. Now this is from Massimo Dutti,
I mean you could class this as a blazer as well but I don't know, I feel like with the three buttons
it gives more of a jacket kind of vibe. It's quite heavy as well, feels heavier than maybe a typical
blazer would however I absolutely love it and I love the richness of the suede. You can see
compared to the other things in my wardrobe how each kind of item, especially the outerwear,
it all adds a different tone or richness. You don't just want a rinse and repeat of the exact
same colours, you can wear the same colour, let's say brown and wear different shades of brown and
create a whole new look. So don't be scared to mess around with your shades, your tones because
that's what's going to add a little bit of interest into your outfit. Don't feel like everything you
buy has to match each other, you know you're creating outfits not tracksuits. Okay so
coats. Are we surprised? Absolutely not. The classic trench coat will,
you will have seen this appear in probably every single capsule wardrobe video I've ever done for
autumn and you will probably continue to see it every single year and I'll probably say this line
again and again and again. My good old Burberry trench coat, you don't need to own a Burberry
trench coat however, from what I've just said, the cost per wear for me, it was worth splurging
on a Burberry trench and I truly do love this. One of my favourite features of this one is the
little Burberry design underneath the collar so if you want to wear the collar up and have a little
flash of that design you can or you can wear it down and classic and it just looks like a regular
trench coat but always a firm favourite in the autumn capsule. Something else I love is a tailored
wool coat. Obviously this probably comes into play more so kind of mid to the end of autumn
when the temperatures start to drop but still an essential and for me a good camel coat like this
will always be a winner. This one is from Mango. It does also have, if you can see, a tie waist as well
so it gives a bit of a different silhouette to the other jackets. You can wear it open and more boxy
or tie it cinching the waist and I think that's one of the key things when it comes to a capsule
wardrobe. You want to be able to play and have different silhouettes because ultimately when
you're talking about a minimalistic wardrobe or a condensed wardrobe you need to be able to create
structure and shape and that's what's going to be able to add interest and differentiation
between your outfits. And the coats and jackets play a huge role in that so yeah this is the
Italian wool coat from Mango. Not sure if they'll have it online yet. They always have a variation
of this coat every year. A camel coat is so classic so I'll see what they've got online. I
don't know if this exact one will be on there but I'll see. And then as I've said before a capsule
wardrobe needs to ultimately reflect you and your lifestyle so there will be things in my wardrobe
or missing from my wardrobe that you might see in other capsule wardrobe videos. For example
a pair of kitten heels does not feature in my wardrobe because it is not a go-to for me.
I live in the countryside. I would get very little wear out of them. A pair of wellington boots is
probably more appropriate for me. When it comes to jackets this might be the time when someone shows
you maybe something a little bit more snazzy, on trend, maybe a barn jacket. For me my tweed field
jacket in the autumn winter becomes my go-to for dog walks, going to the yard, walking down to the
pub for dinner. It really is that go-to jacket for me and if you do live in the countryside or you
visit the countryside a lot I can't explain what a good field jacket will do for your wardrobe.
This is my Holland Cooper one. I have already got so much wear out of this and I just truly
truly love it. Okay moving on to shoes. Starting with a good pair of ankle boots. These are my brown
suede boots from Mint Velvet. You might prefer maybe a pair of black leather boots. It really
is up to you. I personally think you can't go wrong having a pair of ankle boots in a few different
colours. However if we're talking about which ones I would buy first for a capsule wardrobe it would
be dark brown suede for me. As you can see I've got a lot of browns in my wardrobes and I feel like
autumn it really is more about the the tans, the golds, the browns. So these would be my initial
go-to. I don't think these exact ones are online anymore but I will link some that are similar.
And then a pair of neutral and I'm going to say unbranded trainers. Why do I say unbranded? Because
I personally think the fastest way to date an item of clothing is to whack a brand all over it because
what is trendy one year might not be in one year, two years to come. And even though the item itself
might be a nice pair of trainers or whatever because of the branding all over it you kind of
you might see a pair of shoes and go oh they were everywhere in 2021 and automatically it dates and
ages the outfit. So I always think going for something a little bit more minimal and understated
will always be better in the long term. So I have I'm showing you these trainers. I've got these in
two colours. I've got them in dark green which I'm showing you here and dark brown. These are like a
velvet trainer from Vivaya and they just go so well in my wardrobe that they deserve a spot
in the capsule wardrobe because you're not going to look at these even if I was showing you these
five years ago versus in five years time. You're not going to say oh my god do you remember when
everyone was wearing those insert brand here adidas trainers or those Nike trainers.
They are kind of undetectable with the time of when you wear them so for that reason they're in
the capsule wardrobe. I love them. Next up a good pair of knee-high boots and these are new in my
wardrobe hence I can hold them there because I haven't worn them outside the house yet. So I wanted
to show you these. These are from Holland Cooper. They're my black pair with the dark brown top there.
I just think these are so beautiful. I do also have other pairs. I have a few pairs of knee-high
riding boots. So other brands I would also recommend Massimo Dutti. I have two pairs from them black
and brown suede. They're really good. Fairfax and Fauve knee-high riding boots. They're very
good as well but I could only show you one pair in this video. So I'm just going to show you this
pair but yeah a good pair of knee-high boots whether you want to wear them with tights and
shorts or tuck your jeans into them. An absolute essential for me. Next up a good pair of loafers.
These ones are probably my most reached for because they are without a doubt one of the most
comfortable pairs of shoes I own. They feel like slippers. They're just from Zara. My chocolate
suede loafers. I absolutely love them. I also have them in tan as well so if you prefer something a
little bit lighter. I don't know if maybe they do them in black as well but these are just great.
And then finally a pair of ballet flats. Now these are probably more so towards the beginning to mid
autumn. As you know we get into the colder territories you're probably going to start to wear
things like this less and less. However I am definitely still reaching for them at this
time of year. These are just from H&M. They're just like a brown faux suede ballet flat but I
just love the tone of these. They go so well with so much of the wardrobe. I would say when it comes
to ballet flats that that is a really good time to add in a bit of texture to your outfit. So
I don't think you could go wrong with a good pair of suede ballet flats at this time of year. And
finally let's move on to some accessories. Now I could give you a whole list of accessories that I
love to wear in the autumn. However I've just really narrowed this down into my top top top
top accessories that I feel like if I were to lose everything in my wardrobe these would be the first
things I would re-buy. So starting with a chocolate brown suede belt. This one is from Arquette.
I wear this all the time. If you watch my outfit videos you'll be sick of seeing me
wearing this belt but it truly goes with everything so a definite must. And also a silk scarf. I just
love what this brings to an outfit and how versatile it is. Whether you want to tie it in
your hair, around your waist, around your neck, around the handle of your bag. It's just such a
versatile piece to have in the wardrobe. This is a recent one I got from Jewels. It's really
beautiful actually. It's got a lovely equestrian design on there which obviously being an equestrian
I love but I just love the colours in this. The brown, the navy, the cream. I just think this is
gorgeous for this time of year. And then when it comes to handbags I really don't think you can go
wrong with a beautiful black handbag and then one perhaps in a dark brown or burgundy colour. These
would be my go-to bags that I use the most now for this time of year. This one is my Fendi peekaboo.
If you don't watch my videos you won't know but I'm a big Fendi peekaboo lover. This is the first
Fendi peekaboo I ever bought. It is very well loved and well worn and I just absolutely adore it.
And then this is the Town and Country bag from Fairfax and Faber. This was the collab that
Lydia Miller did with them so I got this bag last year. However I know they're bringing out
sort of alternatives. They have different shapes, different colours but I would say this has
definitely become like one of my go-to bags. I love the richness of the colour. It's a beautiful
deep deep burgundy colour. I just think it is so gorgeous so definitely deserves its place
in the capsule wardrobe. And that is it guys. That is my ultimate autumn capsule wardrobe. Let me know
if there's any pieces that you would add into yours. I always like to hear kind of like how
everyone has a different take on these wardrobes so I always find it really intriguing if there's
anything that I wouldn't have in mine what would you have in yours? But anyway I'm gonna leave this
video here guys so I hope you've enjoyed it and as always I'll see you in the next one. Bye guys!
