The ONLY red lip tutorial you'll need (DETAILED)

Y'all, the last time I did a dark skin red lip tutorial was 3 years ago. So, I think we need a wellto-do up to-date tutorial. So, let's go ahead and get into it. First thing first, let me just go through the tutorial and then I'll do most of the talking at the end cuz I know a lot of y'all just want to see the lip combo. And there's a lot that has changed. Well, there's only one thing that changed, but it's it's a lot within that one thing. So, the first thing that I've always done, and if you look back at my other video, is make sure I condition my lip, I've always used the Lanz one, and I still use that, but I've been trying to use other things, and it's just not working just the same way as the Lanes one does. So, I'm going to go back to that as soon as I'm done with this one, cuz this one just ain't working. It's not moisturizing the way I want to moisturize. And the base of applying liquid lipstick is essential to have it down because a lot of people they think liquid lipsticks are too drying to this to that. And to to be honest, they are extremely drying and they're hard to get off your lips and it's just a hassle. But if you really really prep your base with good quality products, then it's really a breeze for it to come off at the end of the night. So, I make sure I condition my lips with whatever lip balm you have. Me, like I said, my preferred go-to is Lanz. So, normally I apply that when I'm doing my makeup just so it can sit on my lips and actually, you know, seep into my lips. I normally go ahead and wipe off excess because you do not want it to be completely off your lips. You just want it there to condition your lip and you do not want it to sit on your lip like a lip gloss or your lip liquid lipstick is not going to stay at all. It really it's going to crack. And I've it happened to me before. So, make sure you take off a good amount to where it's still on there, but at the same time, um it's not sitting on your lips. Next, I always prime my lips. And I've been using the MAC Pepper Prime, which I am almost almost done with. So, normally I would use that. Right now, I'm testing one out at the moment. So, I'm just going to use this one. Basically, any siliconebased lip primer, it will do. I love using this as a base when applying before applying liquid lipsticks because like I said, the the lip balm conditions your lip for the day and helps it not dry out. But because these prep style lip products are siliconebased, it really helps with that barrier between the liquid lipstick and your actual lips for it to have that, you know, that soft silicone waxy base to where nothing is sticking on your lips at the end of the day. So, it helps protect your lips, but it doesn't allow a big film barrier to where it won't stick. The liquid lipstick won't stay on your lips cuz it will still stay. You just want a good thin amount. Everything are in layers and they're very, very thin. So, you just want a thin amount of the um lip primer in order for it just to have that protective barrier on your lips. So, um, your liquid lipstick is not ultra drying on your lips. Next, I always outline my lips with a black lip liner. You could do a dark brown if you want, depending on your complexion. For me, to get that very deep, very sultury, sexy red lip. I always outline with black. You could go as light as you want or you could go as deep as you want for the lip liner. It's just up to you. I prefer to have a very prominent black just so it can fuse infuse um with the red when I put the liquid lipstick on top. This next part is still a part of my routine is I use the NYX soft matte lip cream in the color Monte Carlo. Been using this for years. I always use this in order for me to um give an extra color pigment underneath the liquid lipstick. Even though they already have it, it's really not necessary. But I don't know, the soft matte formula always gives me a extra like powdery softness underneath my liquid lipsticks. I just let that sit and dry just for a little bit, not too long. For the soft matte lip cream, it's not something that dries matte. Well, it dries matte, but like it doesn't dry dry all the way. So, just let it sit and do its thing for a little bit and then I'mma top it off with my liquid lipstick. All right, guys. So, this is where the major change has happened. If you guys don't know, I've always used the Milani um Amore Matte Lip Cream in the color devotion. It is my go-to since it has been my go-to since I want to say a good 10 plus years now. Ever since I used to use it back in the day when I first started my channel, it was drugstore, very inexpensive, and they had the perfect amount of blue red uh what bluish undertone base to it. And I absolutely love it for my complexion. Has always used it to when they stopped selling it in the States. It was discontinued. When I moved to Dubai, they had it for sale here. I was like, "Oh my goodness, you guys loved it so much as well. You guys wanted to purchase it." So, I was purchasing it retail here to resell it to you guys in the States on my website, but guess what? It is now completely discontinued in the UAE as well. So, it is nowhere to be found. I'm like, what? And I had a feeling it was starting to, you know, be discontinued in the UAE because it was getting more expensive. And that's why I just stopped selling it on my website because every time I went to go try to purchase more to restock up, it was just get more and more and more expensive. And I was like, what is going on? to the point where I finally went into my local store and then I realized, yeah, they said it's being discontinued. I was like, good thing I did stock up a little bit. I did I do have a couple still available because I wanted to make sure I'm never out of that uh liquid lipstick. But hey, every good thing comes with sometimes. So, I was like, you know what? This is my opportunity to go ahead and create my own version of a formula I absolutely loved for years and and I admired honestly. So I went ahead and been working quietly and now I have my own dupe. I want to say it's not a dupe actually it's my own and it's better formulations. You know, I'm going to have to be biased when it comes to this type of stuff cuz it's my creation. You know, I took time and effort and everything in order for me to make sure I have the perfect blue base color uh liquid lipstick. And I think I did a good job. I ain't going to lie. So, this is Whoosh. which is now available on my website wana prevlon.com and it is my signature red lip. This is actually I don't think the camera is Oh, it's zoomed. Okay, this is a Haitian Haiti edition packaging. And then I have the regular packaging which is looking like this. But it is on brand. It is my color. Like I absolutely love the aesthetic the aesthetic of it. Um the process was very interesting. This is where I learned a lot about manufacturing cosmetics and formulas and any ingredients in there. Like everything was a very um rewarding process for me to go through when to create this. So, I'm very very proud of what it has become. So, it looks like this. All right, let me show you guys side by side between mine and the Milani one. I don't know if you guys can see, but yeah, it's very, very similar. The Milani one does have way more fragrance when it comes to like a fruity berry fragrance to it. Mine has mine has fragrance but not as much as the Milani one. So I wanted to make sure I let you guys know. Unfortunately, the Milani one is no longer available because they have discontinued it period throughout the entire brand. You cannot find it anywhere else. I know there are some little um like countries that still have it available but it is selling at a premium. So, we do have whoosh. If you guys don't know, whouge means red in Haitian Creole. So, yeah, I'm excited. And this is what I'm going to be using today as my liquid lipstick instead of the Milani one. I ain't going to throw it away, but move on over cuz we got our own now. [Music] Okay. So, after I apply, I make sure I'm smiling the whole time. I don't have I forgot my fan, but I normally fan my lips so it can dry as I'm smiling cuz if it dries while my lips are together, when I go and smile, it leaves cracks. So, I always fan and let it dry like this. It doesn't take long at all. Trust. But I think this is very very crucial. So this is my updated red lip tutorial. I will be doing shorts for people who don't want the whole spiel, the background and everything. If you just want the tutorial straight, I will be doing some shorts showcasing how I do it. But yeah, that's basically it. I was here to show you guys my new lip color and what I've been using for the past uh well I want to say month or so. So I'm really really proud of it. It is definitely going to be something I built off of. So I really want to you know just do more things when it comes to Wanda Prevlon like the chocolate brand. Like I was saying, this is Chocolate Dot. That's the brand name. I wanted to remove it from imported chocolate and just have its own. Chocolate Dot and Imported Chocolate will always be two of the same, but I wanted to have I wanted to have a platform of its own. So, yes, it does have its own Instagram, Chocolate Chocolate on Instagram, and it has its own Tik Tok as well.
