The Leafs are about to change FOREVER...
Oct 2, 2026
Video Summary
AI GeneratedReports indicate that the Toronto Maple Leafs are facing a period of massive organizational change following an atrocious season. Beyond the expected departure of coach Craig Berube, there is significant speculation regarding the future of GM Brad Trelivan and a potential overhaul of the roster and front-office philosophy to break a decade of stagnation.
Huge changes are imminent for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
While it's no secret this season has been absolutely atrocious and it's no secret that
changes are incoming, we have some more crazy reports that have dropped revealing some new
specifics surrounding what changes are going to be coming to this team beyond just Craig
Berube.
We have some updates running some specific players and this team is going to change forever
following this new report by Elliot Freeman.
We're going to break that down as well as discuss a ton of other updates on this episode.
You're going to want to stay tuned to the very end of the video, but before we get into
it all, a very quick reminder folks to hit that subscribe button.
You guys have been an absolute beast with the support.
Darius, a ton to go over today, we have tons of reports from Elliot Freeman and others
revealing some big information.
Also, you're traveling, so guys bear with the quality here for the next couple of days.
Of course, they'll be back in the weekend.
Darius, let's dive right into it.
You can see here from Elliot Freeman, he says, and this was yesterday, there was a lot of
different kind of reports here.
Bottom line, the mix they have, it is going to be different.
This is going to be an off-season of change in Toronto and they're definitely not coming
back the same.
Leafs are about to change forever, quite frankly, and to hear this from Elliot Freeman, again,
we know they're going to change.
The big question was to what degree, whether that be the front office, whether that be
the coaching staff.
I think now it's confirmed that it's going to be beyond that and we're expecting some
massive, massive changes here over the next few weeks because again, the season's almost
over.
Yeah, and Elliot Freeman doesn't mean just the player personnel or just management or
coaching either.
It could be all of it and it probably should be all of it from everything we've seen this
season.
And it's not just this season.
A lot of people are saying it's just a down season.
You can absolutely look at it that way.
And obviously, Chris Hanna being out of the lineup is a huge deal, right?
He is their best defenseman, right?
So that is a big deal.
But at the end of the day, it was leading up to this.
Their reactionary decisions and sitting on things for too long has finally caught up
to them, right?
And it's not even the guys that are there right now.
It's just been 10 years of that.
But at the same time, when you look at the guys that are here, Bradshaw Living's not
making good moves, right?
Like to this point, or he's not made any moves to try and make them better, right?
Obviously, the system, the coaching system does not work.
They get outshot by like three times every game.
It's not working.
So not only that, they're going to sit down and really, all of this is just talk until
we get those exit meetings, those exit interviews, because I really want to hear what comes out
of that.
I want to hear what Austin Matthews thought about the season.
I want to hear what the coaching and management thought about the season, because we're going
to get some interesting notes that are going to come out of that, some interesting perspectives.
And the other thing too, and I want to get into, and we're going to get into it later,
is Keith Pelley.
There was an interesting report that came out yesterday about what he's doing right
now.
And I don't think he's a dumb guy.
I just don't know if he knows how to run a hockey team, which is what he's being tasked
to do right now in hiring probably a new general manager, because there is no president position
anymore in MLSC, right?
So we'll get to that in a second too.
But I would be shocked if they came back looking the same next year.
It can't be the same.
We've seen too much, especially the last couple of weeks, where it's like nothing aligns and
you have to make a change.
Yeah.
And obviously they're not going to be the same.
That's kind of obvious at this juncture, even if that's just Brad Trelivan.
We do have some more reports you can see here.
Pierre Lebrun has recently come on Insider Trading and said that Keith Pelley has had
one-on-one meetings with the Leaf staff throughout the organization and that he hasn't limited
his meetings to just the ORC, also to people within the industry and league as well.
The urgency is he has a decision to make, starting with the GM, which means, based on
this report, again, we had a video on it yesterday, Craig Brube is as good as gone at this juncture.
That's not really a surprise.
But for Brad Trelivan, that's now the next question.
Obviously the natural follow-up.
I think the Brad Trelivan one, for us, is probably easy to say he should go.
They might not have a good candidate in mind, potentially, and again, that's a huge decision
to make surrounding the most important offseason for this team, depending on what happens with
their pick.
This is now Pierre Lebrun saying that Keith Pelley is getting some, I guess you can say
assistance from outside just the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is a little bit, I mean you want
to hear that ultimately at the end of the day here, but it is crazy report after crazy
report and it's come a point now where the team is not going to obviously be the same,
but is Brad Trelivan going to be the one fired?
That's the biggest question mark in my mind heading into next month.
Yeah, and we don't know the specifics day-to-day of what these guys are doing, right?
We have an idea, but at least Keith Pelley, we don't know exactly what he's doing day
to day, but I like to hear this.
This is a good thing.
At the same time, Nick, I don't know how you feel about this.
Like I wonder if he's talking to other people that work for other teams and they're telling
him, yeah, man, keep Brad Trelivan.
He's great.
So we can continue to fleece him in deals and, you know, catch him with his pants down.
Like I think that was pretty interesting in a perspective I saw out there on social media
as well.
But at the same time, I like this meet one-on-one and you can kind of try and see what the truth
is through everything.
Because when you're meeting with people, they're going to try and keep their jobs, right?
And some players are going to say, I want to be here.
But everybody who plays for the Leafs keeps saying, I want to be here because obviously
the medical staff, all of that stuff, and we talked about that this year and how they
removed some of that.
But at the same time, you know, you're, you're treated very nicely when you play for the
Toronto Maple Leafs, right?
Versus some other franchises.
So of course, some guys want to be here, but do you really want to be here and are you
putting it on the line for the team?
That's the biggest thing, right?
And so I think that, you know, I like this.
I think it makes a lot of sense.
I don't think Keith Pelley is a stupid guy again, like we, maybe it comes across that
way in some of our content and everybody, the way that they're talking about him, you
know, recently, but I'm very interested to see what he says at the end of season press
conference, because I don't think he's dumb.
I just don't know if I have faith right now in him, you know, being the president basically
of this team and hiring, you know, the next couple of guys that are going to come in because
I think Bradshaw living's done.
I think Craig Brube is done.
I think you have to go in that direction at this point, you also have to make moves to
the roster, but that comes with some of those other decisions, right?
And they're fortunate that this year they're missing the playoffs and they have a little
bit extra time to make those decisions before July 1st, like a couple of years ago when
they did bring in Bradshaw living.
But I think you have to wipe everything kind of clean of the last era.
And I think Brandon Pritam's done a good job too, from what we've heard, but maybe you
got to clean house a little bit in that regard, start over with a different philosophy.
Maybe that's what it's going to take and you make some moves on ice too.
So I don't know.
I'm just spitballing at this point based on reports we've heard.
I'm very interested to see what comes out from the exit interviews and what Austin Matthews
is thinking too.
I don't think you should bend for him like too much.
At least you bend a little bit for star players, right?
But you have to work with them.
Like this is our vision for the team.
This is where we're going.
Are you on board or are you not?
And we're going to make a decision based on that.
And I'm sure if you, I mean, a lot of this has to come down with if they get the first
round pick, who's making that decision, obviously they have the draft guys who are probably
going to stay, but then are they going to push out Bradshaw living early?
There's a lot of question marks there.
And he said that we sit here recording this late Thursday night into Friday morning.
I don't believe there's a plan in Toronto to announce anything early.
I do think changes are coming, but we don't know yet what they are.
Now, this is something that keeps coming out.
They're obviously not going to make any moves ahead of the, or before the regular season
ends.
There's no real need to like the team.
They're kind of stuck where they are at this point.
They're either going to get the top five pick, which they probably aren't at this juncture
and Brube is going to keep running the team until the season ends.
And we expect Craig Brube to be fired the second the season ends.
But again, Bradshaw living is a bit of a wild card in all of this.
If you were to pause and read this full excerpt from Elliot Freeman, it goes on to say that
this is going to be an off season of change in Toronto.
So if you're excited for change and you're excited to see a lot of different things happen
for the first time in a very long time, this is the off season.
And it also goes on to say, there's a sense that a lot of what happens could depend on
Austin Matthews and the direction he decides to take with some decisions potentially being
made for them based on how things play out there.
I assume he's talking about, of course, the future of Austin Matthews, but there's any
final thoughts on all this.
It is a wild one.
Changes are coming.
They're going to be exit meetings, which we're going to cover, and they're going to be crazy.
The Leafs made another move.
They had they got rid of Bo grew.
If you guys are upset about that, he this is the couldn't play another game if you want
to be eligible for the playoffs in the NHL.
So any final thoughts on this for up?
Yeah, you know, they're really quick.
Bo grew was sent down because if he wants to play in the playoffs with the Marlies,
he had to be sent back down.
So that makes sense.
That's nothing in terms of like they didn't like his player or anything like that.
So that makes sense.
The other thing I wanted to say, not related to the reports, but kind of plays into the
same thing.
Like you mentioned off the top and traveling right now, I'm actually in Montreal and I
went to the Canadians versus the Blue Jackets last night.
And the atmosphere in that building kind of opened my eyes to something that there are
more problems than we realize with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization in that building
with half the seats, if not more being, you know, owned by businesses and people going
to games that don't really care about the team.
The atmosphere suffers.
I feel like the players don't have that much juice because of it.
So many people have come into Toronto and said that it sounds like a library, right?
Like that type of thing.
And going to that game really opened my eyes to that, because obviously Montreal is in
a playoff hunt right now.
But I just wanted to mention that because I wonder, I wonder if MLSC looks at that.
Obviously, they're making a ton of money and they would never cut that off.
So I don't think that will ever change.
But if you wanted to really change this organization, like maybe there's a different way to funnel
money in.
I don't know.
I don't think they'll ever change that.
But that is actually a problem as well.
How quiet it is in the building.
Yeah.
Corporate.
I mean, you look at obviously Montreal Canadiens, they're in a peak time for their season, but
tickets are cheaper.
The vibe.
Well, they were cheaper.
So get a bit more expensive.
The vibe was higher.
Let us know down below what your thoughts are on this.
What changes you expect.
We'll see you guys later.
