Even though most cars are getting an upgrade for their 2023 models,
the Subaru Forester is different. Subaru has decided that the only difference is mainly
in the pricing, which is a difference of about $550 compared to the previous versions.
Yes, there are some minor changes, but nothing super major. However, the 2023 Subaru Forester
is still one of the best SUVs available. After all, it's been there for a while now.
So that begs the question, what minor changes are there? Let's find out, shall we?

amazing updates on your favorite cars. And with that, let's look at the 2023 Subaru Forester.
The 2023 Subaru Forester does not really have any notable upgrades. However, the only thing
it was granted was an extreme makeover last year. And for the next year, the only thing
it is getting is a slight bump in the price tag. The Subaru Forester is one of the few
all-around small SUVs that shines both on and off the roads. This two-row SUV from Subaru
has passed all the tests possible. Not only that, but it also comes with some impressive
off-roading capabilities. It may be humble, but it's definitely powerful.
However, when it comes to the 2023 model, there are not many changes to this capable SUV.
The Forester continues to be a well-balanced pick standing out among its competitors,
which includes the Mazda CX-50, the Honda CR-V, the Kia Sportage, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Nothing has been added or removed in any of the six trim levels of the Subaru Forester.
This even applies to the various optional packages that come with them. The performance
is very mature and sensible, but the flat four-engine has enough grunt to put a smile
on the driver's face when it's taken off the road. The 2023 Subaru Forester still remains
a driver's car, and the dynamics are livelier than ever. If you prefer going off-road more,
then the best option for you is the Forester Wilderness. But in addition to that, there are
five other trim levels. Either way, if you're looking for an affordable option in the small
SUV space, then the 2023 Forester is still your best option. The slight price bump does not really
cause that much of a difference. As we've seen, the 2023 Subaru Forester still comes in six
different trim levels. These include Base, Premium, Sport, Wilderness, Limited, and Touring.
The latest addition to this list is the Wilderness trim, and it brings about some
major updates that Subaru granted to the Forester in 2022. The Base 2023 Forester trim comes with a
starting price of $26,395, which goes up to $36,495 for the top-spec Touring trim.
When you compare the 2023 model with the 2022 Forester, you will notice that the prices have
increased by about $1,200 across the lineup. However, even with this increase, the competitive
optional package pricing is unchanged for 2023, and it continues to provide some additional value
to all the trims apart from the Touring trim. One thing about the 2023 Subaru Forester is that
it still packs a tried and tested flat-four engine. Subaru remains to be the only automaker
that packs a flat-four in bread-and-butter offerings. The 2023 Subaru Forester is still
powered by a well-versed 2.5-liter flat-four engine that gives it about 182 horsepower
and 176 pound-feet of torque. All this power is distributed to all four wheels over a standard
CVT gearbox. The Forester is quite strong, given that it can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
The Wilderness trim is more powerful, towing double what the other trims can.
This means that the Wilderness trim can tow about 3,000 pounds comfortably. However,
even though this trim is not the most spirited, the Forester has enough low-end grunts to put
a smile on your face. Subaru has ensured that the 2023 Forester is highly capable of going off-road.
The 2023 Forester is an SUV with a much more dynamic and plated character on the tarmac.
But when it comes to some loose soil, this Subaru shows the world what it's made of.
It's a very capable machine. Subaru gave this SUV a raised ride height, rugged plastic cladding
all around the lower half, and a peppy engine, all of which combine to make for a thrilling
off-road experience. Most of the optional packages that are on offer with the 2023 Forester
are all intended to make off-roading easier. For an additional $625, you can equip your Forester
with 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels and a ladder-type roof rail. This rail system can
carry a dynamic load of about 176 pounds and a static load of about 700 pounds. However,
if you want to experience the full power of the Forester when it's off-road,
then the Cool Wilderness trim is the one for you. It has extensive chassis and suspension upgrades
that jack the ride up by about 9.2 inches, placing it about 0.5 inches higher than all
other Forester trims. In addition, it also comes wrapped with Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tires
for superior traction levels when it's on loose soil. So far, we've seen that the 2023 Subaru
Forester is no different from the previous model, but what about the MPG figures and driving range?
Well, the 2023 Forester still remains to be a very efficient all-arounder. Given that there
are no tweaks on the powertrain front, the MPG figures are unchanged from last year.
Considering the all-wheel drive layout and the athletic engine, the 2023 Forester can give you
a combined 29 MPG, which is about 26 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
If you add in the ground clearance and the heightened capabilities of the Forester Wilderness,
you will notice that this trim has a lower MPG. The Wilderness Forester gives you a combined 26
MPG, which is about 25 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. The 2023 Subaru Forester can go
for about 481 miles on the full tank of gas. The interior of the 2023 Subaru Forester is rugged
and full of technology. Subaru made sure that the 2023 model maintained its clever interior.
It still has the same rugged style, and it packs the latest technological features there are.
The cabin layout is no joke, and it has a straightforward design. The ease of usability
and practicality are some of the key aspects that set the Forester's interior apart from its peers.
The materials that have been used in the cabin are on the wild side, but they still flaunt a
certain degree of plushness. The level of flexibility offered in the 2023 Forester is
laudable, and it still comes with flat folding second row seats. These seats can take the 2023
Forester's cargo space from 28.9 cubic feet to about 74.2 cubic feet. All the 2023 Foresters
have a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. There's also an 8.0-inch unit that is
optional on the Sport trim, but standard on the top two trims. In both cases, the features are
plentiful, and each comes with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the 2023 lineup,
there are some extra features that are optional, such as more USB ports at the rear and in-built
navigation. As much as the 2023 Subaru Forester gives off a lot of power, Subaru has also ensured
that it has some clever safety features. The Forester was lauded for packing a commendable
safety suite with EyeSight Driver Assist technology. And with that, the 2023 model
of the Forester continues to pack some of the most impressive safety features.
Each new Forester model has a standard 7 airbags, including a driver's knee airbag.
The EyeSight Driver Assist technology includes some features such as automatic emergency steering,
blind spot detection with lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise
control comes standard across all trims. Subaru has not really changed anything with the 2023
Forester unless they fix a few things. The only thing they've changed is the pricing,
which costs an extra $1,200 to $1,300 compared to the 2022 model. However, this is understandable
given that the car was given a major upgrade for its 2022 model. Therefore, there's nothing new at
all with the 2023 model. What do you think of the 2023 Subaru Forester? Feel free to let us
