The Great One

A touching dramatic story about friendship, family values and the importance of moments that we often overlook in the frantic pace of life. The plot centers on Molly O’Brien, a successful sports journalist who has dedicated herself to her career and the constant pursuit of professional achievements. Her work brings her recognition and awards, but at the same time destroys her relationship with her family: Molly increasingly misses important moments in her children’s lives and moves away from loved ones.
Everything changes after an unexpected night call when she learns about the death of her childhood friend Danny Trillo, who died of cancer. Returning to her hometown for the funeral, Molly is immersed in memories of the summer that once changed her life. Together with Danny, they spent carefree days, fascinated by baseball, the legendary Pittsburgh Pirates team and the famous Roberto Clemente. It was then that they learned friendship, support and simple human values.
As she sifts through the things Danny left her after his death, Molly begins to rethink her own life. She is particularly influenced by the words of a friend recorded on an old tape recorder, as well as memories of her father's instructions to always be kind to others. Gradually, the heroine realizes that true happiness lies not in career victories, but in close people, sincere emotions and shared moments.
