The Avengers Assembled For The 1st Time…

The Avengers assembled for the first time in Brooklyn. The Greek Freak and Bam Bam are looking powerful. and the Wizards big 3 infused some hope after a long time in DC. Last night was a flex night as all the high profile teams put their full arsenal on display, giving us a taste of the spectacular season to come. So we gotta start in Brooklyn, where LeBron James made his first appearance in a Sixers uniform. Damn I never thought I would say this, but as always he made an impact as soon as he touched the ball. Two minutes into it and we got the first LeBron look of the game to VJ for the dunk, let's go. this electric JB to Maxi connection and Tyrese Maxi the third Sixer already Tyrese explodes for the two-handed jam over Dolman and he got the bullet pass right in his pocket for a three from the wing splash Maxi was the motor in the first period scoring 10 of his 14 points in a hurry quickly ahead to Maxi oh Tyrese Maxi what a move there Maxi finding VJ in the corner back to Tyrese And he got the assist for the first Sixer bucket ever! James had 10 points, 4 boards and 5 dimes in his debut, including a second no look to Walker. Oh wee, that was sweet! And so are JB's handles. Brown led Philly with 18 points on 56% shooting from the field. From 1 to 4 they all looked great. But on the contrary, Joel Embiid looked pretty bad in this one. In less than 24 minutes of action, Embiid had 8 turnovers and just 6 points on one of five shooting. And he did all of that while dragging on the court ever so slowly. Even the one bucket he scored looked like it was an offensive foul. And three years ago, he would have brought the house down in a situation like this. That is just sad. At this point, the best case scenario for Joel is to stay healthy for as long as he can and try to offer at least some threat from the perimeter. And we all know how big of a threat LeBron is, but you certainly don't need to put your hand in his face at the logo. Otherwise, you'll make him mad. Josh Minot must have fouled James two or three times on this possession when he finally had enough. And despite everything we said thus far, the Nets still won the game behind a big third quarter by Noah Clowney with 10 and Nolan Traore with 8 points respectively. In Miami, we had a dunk off between Trey Murphy and Bam Adebayo at the start. Murphy blows past Giannis and throws down the monster jam over Bam, but Adebayo on the other end returns the favor with a powerful slam. Damn, I started spitting rhymes like Eminem. Jokes aside, Bam is so strong that he put Zion into the basket. with a bucket how he went right through a very strong Zion Williamson and Antetokounmpo joined the dunk party in the second quarter when out of the combo with a dunk and a foul he had made his first three treys Giannis handed it flush Giannis puts missy on a poster with the left-handed thunder and here's another freakish play by the Greek demigod late in the second period That's just unguardable. The two-time MVP looks to be on a mission in Miami and the rest of the league should be careful. He scored 18 points in 18 minutes on 62% efficiency. Klay, on the other hand, was shooting just one of six from downtown, but that one single splash was a pleasure to watch. And so were these high-flying plays by the Pels. The game between the Pelicans and the Heat was as exciting as it gets. And after a long time, Wizards fans have something to be excited about this season as well. Look at Ice Trey pulling out the one legged three in his pre-season debut. He lays 3 of 6 from downtown on his way to 15 points and 4 assists in 17 minutes of playing time. Anthony Davis finally starting at the power forward position besides Ayton had a strong shooting night as well, 16 points and 7 rebounds on 55% efficiency, but he got cooked on the defensive end twice by Cat and Josh Hart. Meanwhile, AJ Da Bonta was cooking whoever was in front of him. The number one pick in the draft had 11 points and 4 steals in 23 minutes of action, getting to the rim at will. But you know how the saying goes, everybody's better than Jalen Brunson until it's time to be better than Jalen Brunson. Captain Brunson took the young wizards to school on a couple of occasions, scoring an easy 13 points on 50% shooting, albeit in a loss at the end. Out west in LA, his former teammate also put on a show. Luka Magic casually drains the logo 3 with the shot clock expiring. He messed around for 25 minutes and got 23 points and 3 assists with the most beautiful one being to Mamuk right here. Sandro has been playing extremely well for the Lakers so far, putting up 19 points on 70% shooting from the field last night, but the play of the game belonged to AR15. Reeves had the defender in shambles with the smitty before laying it up and in. Amazing. And to keep up the fast pace, we go from AR's half spin to Harper's tornado. Dylan Harper got the starting job in the absence of De'Aaron Fox and he didn't disappoint. In 19 minutes on the floor, he was a matchup nightmare for the Hawks, scoring 16 points on 71% efficiency. And the same can be said about Castle and Wemby. Area 51 was in full swing last night, combining for 23 points on 57% shooting in limited playing time.
