Steelers make MULTIPLE moves... Crazy Updates | Pittsburgh Steelers News
Oct 7, 2026
We have some breaking news.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have made yet another move this time, signing a very interesting
defensive end as Omar Khan continues to stay busy.
They have signed a very notable name.
We're going to break down exactly who this player is and more importantly, discuss what
it means going forward and the impact that he's going to have on this team, as well as
a plethora of other updates, including an unfortunate note surrounding Derek Herman.
Some big updates from practice yesterday into today, a lot to go over on this episode and
even some controversy happening surrounding this team.
But before we get into all that, a very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.
You guys are an absolute piece of support.

Multiple videos a day for you all.
Folks, we have a lot to discuss on this episode.
So new reports just dropped.
The Steelers are bringing back K.J.
Henry.
Yes, you are reading that right.
So they have reportedly signed K.J.
Henry.
You might recognize the name, but you can see here from Mike Garofalo, the Steelers are
signing defensive end K.J.
Henry after his workout yesterday.
Now, the Steelers obviously have been very busy over the past few days, brought in a
ton of names, a ton of players on contracts, sorry, on workouts and on tryouts.
And they're signing a bunch like we obviously saw.
I mean, the moves yesterday were crazy.
Sean Murphy bunting.
You have now K.J.
Henry, Marte Mapu from from yesterday as well.
All of a sudden now they're bringing in tons and tons of guys.
And K.J. Henry is an interesting one.
So he obviously was with the Steelers early on in his career.
We think back to October twenty twenty five.
I covered it on the channel.
We first joined the Steelers practice squad, then signed a futures contract on January
14th.
And the Steelers ultimately released Henry back in the summer, June twenty fifth.
And now they bring him back.
So what's interesting about this specifically is that he has some familiarity with the team,
right?
He's been around him for about a year.
Obviously, coaching staff and stuff change.
But they the Steelers have been known to kind of do that in the past.
They're going to bring back some of their guys that they are familiar with.
But K.J. Henry has actually had an interesting NFL since.
I want to start with his stats here over the past few seasons.
So has played 15 games, started three of them with the commanders in his rookie year.
Again, started three, played ten.
Hasn't really been a starter since hasn't gotten a ton of actual NFL run in his day.
But he's a name that guess what?
It's a body, right?
It is a depth piece.
It's a body.
And keep in mind, also, I know a lot of you guys wondering, you know, Nick, these are
just practice squad signings.
These aren't going to be huge signings.
Keep in mind, right?
Like I covered a lot of these last year and I sound like a broken record saying this,
but I covered a ton of these last year.
And guess what?
A lot of them ended up playing minutes.
A lot of them ended up playing meaningful minutes.
We can think back to I always bring this one up.
Dylan Cook.
He was starting the playoffs for this team.
And to further in Mike Garofalo's report a little bit here, he said that Henry was
So there was a real world where he was going to make the team out of camp for the 49ers,
but then he got injured.
And now that he's healthy, the Steelers are like, OK, I'm going to take advantage of that
opportunity.
So at the end of the day here, it's a pretty interesting move because you're getting guys
that other teams kind of valued, but they're going to need more defensive help if they
want to make the playoffs.
Speaking of making the playoffs on Cal, so you can trade on whether or not you think
the Steelers are going to make the playoffs right now trading twenty five dollars nets
you over 80.
That gives the Steelers about a 30 percent chance of making the playoffs.
And this is all on Cal.
She and this video is brought to you by Cal.
She where you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional

Thank you once again to Cal.
She for sponsoring this video.
Now let's dive into a stats a little bit more.
So obviously he was a twenty twenty three fifth round pick out of Clemson.
So not a super highly tattered process, but, you know, fairly notable 15 games, three starts,
twenty two tackles, five tackles for lost in his career and two and a half sacks.
We're going to have to see if he actually ends up kind of being a, you know, a player
and playing any big role in this team.
I wouldn't say that's going to be the case, but you never know how to cover it.
And if you would have told me at the start of the year that Joey Porter Jr.
would be gone, that we'd be having and Jamal Dean will be hurt and your cornerback goes
from JPJ, Jamal Dean, Asante Samuel to now rookie Dylan Everett and Sean Murphy bunting.
I would have called you crazy.
And a lot of that is due to injuries.
And speaking of injuries, we have more moves that have occurred.
Now, Derek Herman has officially been placed on the eye, which is unfortunate.
That is very, very unfortunate.
We assume that was going to be the case.
What happened yesterday?
The team confirmed, obviously, he's put on the eye.
This is from the foot injury suffered against Cleveland, which now means he's going to miss
a minimum of four games.
Yes, a minimum of four games.
And this initially came out a few days ago that he might might be placed in the eye,
that it wasn't necessarily seen as something super severe.
Same with Jamal Dean, who I'm sure we'll get an update later today, potential video later
today on that.
Yeah, it just sucks, man.
Like Derek Herman was finally starting to figure himself out.
Right.
He was finally starting to.
I mean, we think about the, you know, the Joe Burrow sack.
We think about everything that was happening with this defense.
And now, again, he had hurt on October 1st Thursday's game.
He left it with an injury.
He was seen in a boot.
And then, of course, it came out multi-week absence.
Now in the eye are at the very least, he's going to miss four weeks.
So four games.
And I mean, you look ahead of what those games are going to be.
They're not going to be easy ones.
Of course, you play the Colts this Sunday and the Buccaneers and then the Saints.
And obviously, the reason that they are going to be, quote unquote, easy are the Colts playing
really well right now.
They're playing OK.
Coming off a win.
The Buccaneers are 0 and 4.
They're terrible.
Hopefully that's a bit of a gimme.
The Saints, you know, not amazing with the rookie quarterback.
But Herman's going to miss at least these three.
And then going into, of course, November.
It is unfortunate.
And this defense just can't get any break.
And this has all led to some big questions surrounding the Steelers and the potential
of moving Jalen Ramsey back to quarterback and not at safety.
And he basically came out yesterday and we got reports that that's not going to happen.
So him and Michael McCarthy both spoke out yesterday.
I like where Jalen is at.
And they're basically not going to move off of Jalen Ramsey at quarterback.
Right.
They're moving back to quarterback.
His role is going to remain as safety.
Mike McCarthy and Patrick Graham basically said that they'd like where he's playing at
safety.
And he's having a hell of a year.
So I can't really get too, too upset about it.
I do think at the end of the day here, missing out on, you know, Joey Porter Jr. and managing
that situation, the injury to Jamel Dean, that is way more important than the unfortunate
reality of Jalen Ramsey not being able to play quarterback.
He also broke his wrist.
So I don't know if that's, you know, something that's playing an impact in it as well.
Would you consider safety less dangerous on his wrist than cornerback?
I'm going to leave that up to you guys.
But yeah, it is.
It is unfortunate.
Now, something that could help and maybe push somebody off as well is the potential of Deshaun
Elliott.
So we have an update on him here on no timeline right now, but he had a really good workout
last Wednesday.
So Mike McCarthy came out and revealed that that's a huge, huge piece.
This team Spears Jennings has been looking pretty good.
And the way that the team just looks right now in general on defense has been a little
bit lackluster.
But at the same time, the offense has also been pretty rough.
So if you can somehow get Deshaun Elliott back and then you have Jalen Ramsey, Jamel
Dean comes back maybe around the same time Deshaun Elliott comes back, all of a sudden
you have some depth, you have some pieces that you can actually go ahead and work on.
And you know, I'm I'm cautiously, cautiously optimistic, especially with a somewhat light
schedule over the next three weeks.
But a good, good update, but also no timelines, a little crazy for Deshaun Elliott.
So comment down below what your thoughts are on all of this news continues to flow, folks.
New signing K.J.
You have Derek Harmon getting moved.
Also Danico Slaughter.
He was.
I'll just throw this up as well.
He was released.
So he was waived yesterday by the Steelers.
Not too much of a surprise there.
They weren't going to.
You have to make room for a lot of these guys.
They're signing the Neymar D.
Folks, let me know down below what your thoughts are on all of this.
Thank you guys for watching.
And it's going to be a very, very busy week.
