'Shrinking' season 4 sets 'Ugly Betty' reunion

It may not be the full Ugly Betty reunion that we've been hoping for, but we will take anything we can get. Because just today it was announced that Judith Light will be joining the cast of Shrinking for season four, making an Ugly Betty reunion between her and Michael Urie. And the best part is, we may actually know who she's playing already. Now in case you've forgotten, Judith Light and Michael Urie were co-stars on Ugly Betty where she played Claire Mead and he played Mark St. James. Because they developed a close relationship while working on the show, they've been saying for years that they want to work together again, including in separate interviews with us here at Decider where they may have hinted at exactly who she'll be playing. Check out their interviews from 2024 and 2025 respectively. You know who wants to play my mom? I'm going to throw, I'm going to say it, Judith Light. Of course. She's wanted to play my mom for years. I talked with Michael Urie a few months back and he said he wants you to play his mom in Shrinking. Have there been any conversations there? No conversation whatsoever about that. He had mentioned that to me too and I said, you know, I would go anywhere just about to play Michael Urie's mother, but he is like delicious. I guess it's more like predicting or manifesting than it is hinting, but still, we're not ruling it out.
