We saw several fake reviews for the Sheraton Lisboa hotel and spa so we wanted to actually stay there, immerse ourselves in the facility, and tell you exactly what to expect at this hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.
I'm in the Sheraton Lishboa, Lishboa, and I just walked in to the Matrix.
No one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
So I'm actually here right now sitting in the lobby bar of the Sheraton Lishboa and here is
the front of it. It's not very, I mean, it's kind of okay looking from the front. Not as an exclusive
four or five star that you would expect, but more than anybody needs, I guess. It does have a taxi
stand out front, which is super convenient. Here is the lobby coming down from the second floor.
There's a lot of space in here for corporate meetings and I did notice there are a lot of
airplane pilots who stay here, which means this hotel is vetted. You've got 25 floors and then a
top floor, which I'll show you in a second, which you're theoretically not supposed to go through.
You have to walk through the Matrix and then you will enter a leather door.
These doors have legit leather on the front and back. It's weird. Here is your room and it's a
nice room. We got an upgraded room here and they weren't really expensive. I'll show you the prices
at the end. And the bathroom is weird because it has glass walls. I mean, why would you put glass
walls on a bathroom? And you could theoretically just put it half down so you could just see your
bits, which is even more weird. There's a safe and a refrigerator in here. They give you a robe
and some slippers and that's nice. They're always too small for me anyway. Here's the bathroom and
here's the tub and the shower and I'll show you that in a second. Nice sink and the light switches
are confusing as I don't know what, but once you figure them out, I guess. Actually, I hadn't
figured them out and I was here two nights and this is weird. This is where you show your naughty
bits on the bottom. You could actually lower it all the way down. I really don't recommend this
for a family. Not a great idea. It does have a bidet, which I did not try here because it was
kind of pointed up and I didn't want to touch it, you know. And there's another story. Now, the shower
head's really weird. It's kind of low, but you can adjust the angle of it and it's really difficult to
get into these settings because it's so close to the glass. I hate these half glass walls. I don't
know why they just don't put doors on them, but whatever. There is a hairdryer on here and Felicia, did
the hairdryer work pretty well? Yeah. You're good? Hairdryer gets the stamp of approval from Felicia
and a mirror. Here is your iron and your ironing board included in this room next to the leather
door and it does run on 220. There is an outlet next to the coffee makers that works. This guy
showed us how all the automatic blinds work, so that was pretty cool. Very nice. Brought our bags up.
And this is the view. We're on the 19th floor. Nice view. Now, we did want to run down to the herd.
There was a pool here and after getting 20,000 questions by the woman in charge,
what room are you in? What is your name? You had to verify RID to make sure we were staying at the
hotel before they would even let us look at the spa in the pool area. And here it is. It was November.
It was 69 degrees outside. There's no way anybody's going in that pool, so they don't have this thing
all set up. But normally, I understand they have a bar out here and drinks in the summertime,
weather permitting. So, it's a nice looking pool area and it's interesting it's in the middle of
the city, right? And here is the view from our suite. So, the lobby bar, kind of the heartbeat
of the hotel. Here's the wine menu. A lot of nice Portugal wines here. And they're very, very
reasonably priced, too. I mean, for a hotel wine, I can get a bottle of wine. A nice bottle of red wine for
30 euros, which is insane. In the States, it's like 80 bucks, man. It's crazy how much they charge
you over there, but they're very, very affordable. It's actually cheaper than beer and I think it was
cheaper than water, to be honest with you. We got this Monte de Pequiga. I can't pronounce that, too.
It's a nice, like a medium body red wine from Portugal. Nice one. Here's the lobby bar. The chairs
are a little too low for the bar, but that's okay. And a lot of places to sit in the restaurant here.
The menu is a little strange for us, a little too heavy on seafood, but I'm sure a lot of people
like it. And we had a really nice introduction to some Portuguese wines here in the lobby bar. So,
that was really nice. Had a little bit of tasting. Decided to get all three and throw down. That's
what we do here. We want to immerse ourselves in the culture and I recommend that you do the same
thing as well. And ended up getting some appetizers. This is like a teriyaki vegetable roll
and the caprese salad was delicious to die for. Excellent cheese. And we came down the next morning,
had breakfast. I do sell this as a package. We didn't buy it, but we got it anyway. This is my,
it's a nice spread. It's kind of a buffet style thing and it's 42.50 for two people. A little
higher price. But now on the TVs, they advertise this top level. It's like on the 25th floor,
I believe. It has a beautiful restaurant and this girl that's singing stuff and this little chef.
There's probably Michelin star and all this beautiful stuff. So, we went up there. You're
not supposed to go up there because it's, I guess it's closed, which you will see in a second. But
look at this. I had to see this. I mean, the setup is beautiful. What an opulent place,
but went up there and it's pretty much gutted. I guess it didn't work out. Not sure what's going
on. No one seems to have the story. You ask people if you can go up there to get a drink.
They're like, no, you're not allowed up there. It's reserved for private parties. Us, we go up
anyway. You know what I mean? It's a beautiful view. I played a little piano. This is a beautiful
piano. I'm surprised they leave it open like this. It's crazy. They really need to lock that
thing down. There's the wine room, which is dead. These are all empty bottles, but it's neat. You
can walk into a wine room and sit on these like Wonder Woman invisible chairs. Interesting. They
do have some coffee and water up here. It looked like it hadn't been changed in like a month.
I don't know. Maybe they do it in the morning, but look at the view.
What a waste of an amazing space and a beautiful view of this side of Lisbon. Unbelievable that
and even better at night. And you ask anybody downstairs, they're like, oh no, you can't go
up there because it's reserved for whatever, whatever, whatever. But it's open and you just
walk in there. So there's a late petite chef there a couple of nights a week. It's about $129
a person. And there's this outside bar. I guess it's closed for the season. Here's what we paid.
Overall, it's a pretty hotel. It's a nice place. Reasonable combinations of beds,
pretty comfortable, and I think you'll enjoy it.
