The AFC and Asian fans are wondering why the U23 Vietnam team always faces unfavorable decisions from referees when facing West Asian teams The referee is the person who controls a soccer match The referee is responsible for enforcing the rules of soccer and controlling the assigned match He is the one who makes the final decision regarding a situation that occurs on the field and cannot be changed or disputed That is why the referees are always placed on the black shirt Each decision made by the referee can also change the outcome of a match Therefore being a referee requires extremely good expertise a solid understanding of the rules and especially not acting on impulse or being swayed by external influences Football has witnessed many matches where the referee failed to perform their duties by intentionally making incorrect calls or favoring a particular team It can also be about making very confusing decisions that lead many teams to suffer extremely harsh consequences Vietnam's U23 team and Vietnamese football in general have repeatedly faced extremely unfair and unreasonable decisions when competing against international teams from regional to continental competitions They have had matches where Vietnam encountered this phenomenon The first one was just last night The match between Vietnam U23 and Saudi Arabia IFC and Asian fans all had many questions for Vietnam U23 That the U23 Vietnam team keeps facing West Asian teams and is always penalized heavily by the referees In summary the match last night left fans still confused and frustrated with the Japanese referee Araki made very harsh and hard-to-explain decisions on 4 of the 10 mistakes by the U23 Vietnam team in the match against the U23 Saudi Arabia The player was penalized with three yellow cards and one red card U23 Saudi Arabia was penalized with three yellow cards and one red card Your team also committed 5 fouls and did not back down at all In the match between Vietnam and the U23 Saudi Arabia this referee issued four yellow cards out of a total of 10 fouls committed by Vietnam That was the training session of the Kiwin team midfielder Duy Cuong forward Van Tung and especially goalkeeper Van Chuan who the referee did not hesitate to show a card to In the case of referee Kiwin's training the South Korean team was upset when the referee overlooked a Saudi Arabian player's foul Thirteen minutes later the goalkeeper of Van Chuan team received a direct red card while trying to stop Fera In the diving shot Van Chuan touched the ball before colliding with Fera But after a thorough review referee Araki still considered it a clear goal-scoring opportunity for Saudi Arabia Meanwhile your team committed 5 fouls The most notable was the situation in the 31st minute Hussaini stepped directly on Duy Cuong's foot but referee Araki did not call a foul Instead he only reminded the players from Saudi Arabia The referee started officiating at the age of 26 and four years later at 30 he was regarded as one of the few young reliable and stable referees in the Land of the Rising Sun A year later Araki was conditionally appointed as a FIFA referee for an international match According to the Transformers website this referee has officiated a total of 253 professional matches Cited 646 yellow cards 21 indirect red cards 16 direct red cards and blown 50 penalty kicks This statistic highlights the severity of the 36-year-old referee However being strict with just one team while the other acts recklessly where is the credibility what is the reputation for These Japanese referees have caused great frustration among the fans Fans have issued harsh criticisms and even attacked the social media account of this referee Before the incident the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) immediately got involved The referee must explain the decisions he made during the match The Asian Football Confederation has confirmed it will soon provide answers to fans' questions However when fans asked why Vietnam always has to suffer penalties from the referees Especially when the referee Va faced teams from West Asia The AFC representative did not provide an explanation Looking back Vietnam has almost always faced biased decisions from the referees Every time they face West Asian teams like Qatar UAE and most recently Saudi Arabia By seeking answers to this issue we consulted many experts Most experts agree that the U23 Vietnam team does not fully understand and handle situations according to the rules Along with that the level of the referees and the impact on the field lead to inaccurate decisions by the referees The experts' answer sounded very reasonable but could not satisfy the Asian fans Share on the Iceland Football page a fan commented The referee probably received 100 barrels of oil to favor the team from Western Asian countries He the one who is respected Ansari commented that the suspect is not clear here Vietnam is always more vocal than the Middle East Asian teams are always favored it's definitely a problem with the referees Vietnam always plays very fairly Yet the referee's decision was truly confusing People who are obsessed with Australia said that being a referee without a strong mental state is very easy to be bribed by money Lao's fans are playing tricks the referee is afraid to penalize Asia because of the threat from the father's group and Vietnam is already over Vietnamese fans are constantly guessing why Vietnam is always being officiated this way Viewers join us in reviewing some matches where the U23 Vietnam team was pressured Let's find out the real reason First was the match in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship The Singaporean referee became the center of attention after the match against Vietnam and Qatar with decisions that were somewhat unfavorable to Vietnam They faced a disadvantage in the last minutes of the first half in the semi-final match against U23 Qatar when they had to concede a penalty kick In the situation where the referee made a harsh decision but at that time Van Duc was pushed down just before the Quata penalty area The Singaporean referee did not issue any penalty This has caused many Vietnamese fans to become upset After the match many contestants across Asia expressed their dissatisfaction with the decisions made by the Singaporean referee On Alani's personal Facebook page as well as the official Facebook page of the Asian League A user named Alani wrote Cheaters will fail You could have won this match without having to go into extra time It happened a long time ago Why does the referee always make decisions against you I am truly proud of you Vietnamese players You have taught Quata a lesson You have real heroes I hope Vietnam can win the championship Life is not fair When you are in a disadvantaged position you will have to try a hundred thousand times to get through Fan comments It was the first time Asian fans stood up to demand justice for Vietnam Three years later the U23 Vietnam team once again became a victim of the extremely confusing and inadequate decisions of the match referee In 2021 Vietnam U23 faced the UAE in a match for the top of the group within the third round of the Asian qualification The Vietnamese team let the UAE team take a 3-goal lead just before the 60th minute But since then Park Hang-seo's players have given their all Indeed in the final stages of the match Vietnam scored two consecutive goals The goals from Tiến Linh and Minh Vương in the 84th and 92nd minutes These two goals were not enough for the Vietnamese team to avoid a defeat against China with a score of 23 to the UAE But reversing the story in the 61st minute Iraqi referee Al-Khwais He overlooked the 10-10 penalty kicks for the Vietnamese team Specifically Tien Linh created a situation in the drainage pipe in the district's drainage area The Vietnamese player was blocked by two OAE defenders from front and back causing him to fall inside the 16-meter area It was a situation where the town's drain was already full before being blocked by the OAE defender The referee Al-Khwaisi was also standing there but he did not award a penalty to Vietnam If Vietnam had made good use of that opportunity we could have drawn with China 3-3 before the OA That way they maintained first place in Group G Fortunately Vietnam U23 still managed to continue Otherwise the fans will definitely have to make it right because of this referee After briefly reviewing a few matches that were handled unfairly We who have been watching for many years still cannot find a way to explain the confusing decisions of the referees Those who are well-trained but deliberately act improperly hold the decision -making power that determines the victory or defeat of a national team But still they are not aware of their responsibilities when working extremely carelessly This incident may take a very long time to subside And fans will definitely have to go all the way and just one mistake the referee will have to pay a heavy price This will serve as a warning to other referees when officiating Asian matches in the future
