Yo what's up guys. Today I'm reacting to this documentary made by NTD called
Unbroken the Untold Story of Shen Yun. Let's jump in.
I never imagined myself dancing before. Before I started dancing I played baseball for
For the past five years I've toured the world with my brother by my side.
Right now I'm enrolled at Feiting Academy of the Arts. There's green hills that roll up to these
wooden temples that I've never seen anything like before. And there's a mist on the lake
and there's snow on the temples. It's beautiful. It's gorgeous. It's absolutely the probably the
best campus you can find in the United States. So peaceful. So serene. Having a bad day just
walk. Walk around the lake. Walk through the temples. Better than any therapy you can find.
The New York Times has for six months been preparing a series of articles against
Shen Yun performing arts. The New York Times got like all the viewpoints from people who are
not in Shen Yun anymore. Not in Feiting anymore. Disgruntled. You know people who either left
their own court or got kicked out. Not a very impartial witness. It just really conflicted with
my experience so far. Shen Yun had been highly regarded around the world. It was really lovely.
I love the color. I love the music. Mr. Bilbo Baggins.
Tony Robbins. I've seen one of his ads on YouTube before.
Taiwan's president Lai Ching-da and more than 100 government officials sent congratulatory messages
and well wishes. I've personally seen flowers given by Tsai Ing-wen, the previous Taiwanese
president, to our dance group Boomerang in Taiwan. That was so cool. You just see like the flowers
gifted from Tsai Ing-wen. I was like oh so cool. I've seen quite a bit of different professional
athletes from basketball players to soccer players. I've seen him before. To many performers. He's seen
me before. I've seen a lot. It's actually it's really convenient for us to see. We give our
company manager a notice and then she arranges it straight up. No cost on us either. Have you
heard from the New York Times yet? No in fact when it came out I was like waiting for them to call me
and say hey okay probably any day they're going to reach out to me get my take on it
but nothing. How are you going to write an article trying to do an expose or investigation when
you're not even talking to any of the health care professionals that are treating the performers?
All right. Didn't make any sense to me. The reason it doesn't make sense is because it was a
we call a hit piece. I just call it bluntly a hit piece. They had their end goal in mind. They were
not worried about getting ethical truth. They had their narrative and they just chair picked the
evidence that fit their narrative and then published the story. So any evidence any witness
any truth that goes against their narrative is going to be ignored. They're not going to bother
to listen to you. Why didn't any of that make it into the New York Times coverage? That's unethical
journalism. I reached out to Shen Yun. We have lots of proof of medical treatments.
After the New York Times articles came out we have performers who gave us these records.
These are all pretty much all different dancers. I gave them my record too.
Dancers here. Yes they voluntarily gave us these records. Here show them. I'm not angry at them.
I'm not angry at anyone. I'm just like what can I do to tell people our side? You feel this
responsibility to uphold what's been so dear to you. To really show the audience the authentic
side. It kind of added the fuel to my inner drive. That's true. All these ever since the
New York Times things came up it for me personally it really made my inner drive determination
motivation so much more stronger because I was like okay this is much bigger than just myself
than just like my own small world. This is big. This is impactful. Right before the show we saw
some folks handing out leaflets and they had Chinese characters billboard around them so we
stopped to take a look. They're handing out the New York Times articles here. Have you seen the
evening? What's that?
What's that? Basically they're doing on abuse.
He could explain more to you. How did you hear about this opportunity?
I wouldn't want to give you incorrect information. Where did you hear about it?
Yeah just uh yeah prior to you asking me yeah just hear what I'm up. What's your day job?
Uh we're a consultant. You're a consultant? Yeah. Typically when you have somebody that
is out protesting it's usually a cause that they believe in. It's a passion that they have
and that clearly didn't come across with these people. You had one Chinese gentleman who was
acting in a very. I swear these people paid man. They understand that the major threat to their
regime is not economic. It is for what they used to call the hearts and minds of people. They see
that as the sort of center of gravity under which their regime could be in trouble.
Communism needs control. Control of thinking. Control of thoughts. Control of words. Control
of speech. Control of actions. And what we give people is a freedom of thought. We don't
tell you what to think. We show you our story. We show you Chinese civilization. Five thousand
years of Chinese civilization before the CCP took over and let you make your own decision. We don't
coerce. We don't threaten anyone with anything. We use peaceful measures. We don't force anyone
to come watch our show. The show tickets are even a little pricey you know. So but then that's what
they fear the most. Free thought. Freedom of expression. This thing that they can never control.
Hey it's the Jack. How are you doing? I said you know do you have any of these kids as students?
Do you know anything about them? He said sure and he came over. He showed me this ongoing conversation
you know going for like spending about three, three and a half years with one of the primary
accusers. Coco who's the primary plaintiff and one of the lawsuits. You know when I am sued I was
so shocked. I was speechless. I really don't know why she sued me. Then I go back revisit all the
conversations. Oh I like that. He's so innocent. He's like I don't know why he sued me. He's like
I didn't do it. I'm an academic professor here. I teach you academics. I didn't do any of
the so-called if there was any dance abuse I had nothing to do with it and then you're
He had because until April 2024 she was still very friendly to me.
That's the photo she posted on her Facebook and added a lot of good words about the school,
about her experience and then she invited me to Taiwan to attend her wedding ceremony.
I'm now out. I'm not with him. That's why I can't talk with you and she said my husband doesn't
allow me to tell my whereabouts. Wow. That was April right. She was contacting Shen Yun saying
that she wanted to come to see the company manager and other members. I don't know like
looking for someone to talk to or I don't know. She fell in a trap and she's being used. That's
four months away. Grinding shows day by day by day by day. We're not just relieved. It's almost
like we did it. We pulled through. We pushed through. We did what we had to do and it was
worth it. We take a lot of photos, you know, in different costumes. Produces very good memories
for all of us. It's amazing feeling. I can't describe it. Mashup is always the best show.
Amazing opportunity to speak to any of these performers. I'd say that they're
very brave for doing this. Continue doing what they're doing. There's darkness everywhere and
in that mass amount of darkness there's always going to be a light. A small light. A mustard
seed of light that will always come out in the darkness and this this showed it. The show showed
it. The performance showed it and it was amazing. It was beautiful. Never give up. Never give in.
Be true to yourselves. Be true to your to your beliefs and if you hold true to those beliefs
then no force in the world can stand against you. That guy said I cannot put any better. So true.
So touching. This is amazing. What Xinyu did for me when I watched it, I kind of want to
do that for others. That is a very meaningful life to live. Oh that's me. That's me right there.
Following you. Since last year.
Most people go to a Xinyu show and they're like wow that was amazing. That was hopeful. That was
inspiring. I just finished that documentary and I think it was it was actually really good. Overall
I think the documentary is very very true. I was pretty surprised at how real it felt because we
experienced the exact same things. I guess my final takeaway from this documentary is that
if the CCP can do this to us to Xinyu in America. If they can do it to us they can do it to you.
They can do it to anybody. Any organization in the United States and I think an attack on the people
of faith is fundamentally an attack on what America stands for. If you look at just the start
of America, why did the pilgrims come to what we now know as the United States just to escape
religious persecution? And the fundamental difference between America and other countries
is like the rights of man, the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, and the Declaration of
Independence. It states very strictly that our rights do not come from the government. They come
from the creator. So America is fundamentally a country of faith and so I believe an attack on a
faith-based group like Xinyu is fundamentally an attack on everything that America stands for.
You know people always talk about like you know how in the World War II during Nazi Germany
like how bad the Nazis were, how they treated the Jews, and then the propaganda they had,
the Gestapo, the secret police, you know all the subversion, the denigration, you know the libel.
And then people are like if I lived in that time period, if I lived in Nazi Germany, I would
definitely stand up for the Jews. I would do something for them. Personally as a dancer of
and as a volunteer practitioner, I feel that this is the time period where history is repeating
itself. You know right now it's not Nazi Germany. It might be the CCP, you know, but the amount of
propaganda going against us, this international repression, this huge misinformation campaign
directed directly by the higher-ups in the CCP is not much different from what the Nazis did
to the Jews in World War II with all due respect. So honestly, I think this is a very great
documentary, you know. I'm not telling any of you guys to believe in completely what I say,
what the documentary says. I can personally say that the documentary is very, very true to our
lives. It's very truthful. You can hear our side, you can hear their side, and then make your own
decisions, you know. Once again, great documentary. Thank you to NTD for making it and seeing that
wonderful Jesse and Lucas, such great dancers, so handsome, you know. That was kind of random,
but yeah, peace out.
