Welcome to Minh Tran Tuong's radio program.
Let's listen to the stories of traditional culture,
upholding moral values and kind-heartedness.
Today, we are honored to send you a poem
titled The Virtues of a Gentleman.
It was published in Epoch Times.
The traditional painting of Phuong Dong, Mai, Lan, Truc, Cuc,
is considered a symbol of the virtues,
qualities, and high values of a gentleman.
Each tree has its own characteristics.
Mai symbolizes gentleness and vigour,
like the flowers of Mai that bloom in the snow,
in the rain, or in the sun.
Lan, although strong,
is as fragile as a stone.
Khiem is modest, polite, and strong.
Cuc, tough, and brave,
overcomes all obstacles.
Khiem is modest, hidden, in front of the flowers.
In Nho Gia,
the qualities of a gentleman
are valued as precious as Ngoc.
The virtue of a gentleman
can be related to Ngoc.
In ancient culture,
a man must have a noble personality
to be called a gentleman.
Therefore, when talking about a gentleman,
there is a saying that
the flower of a beauty
is the beauty of a gentleman.
In short,
the flower of a beautiful beauty
is the beauty of a gentleman.
In the birth certificate,
it is recorded that
the gentleman was born
with the virtue of a gentleman.
In other words,
the virtue of a gentleman
is as precious as Ngoc.
It is gentle and bright,
so it can be compared with the word gentleman.
Therefore, it can be said
that in the ideal world of a gentleman,
a gentleman is a metaphor
for personality and beauty.
Therefore, he compares the personality
of a gentleman
as precious as Ngoc.
Ngoc is different from ordinary stones.
At first,
it was just a small stone
scattered all over the mountains
that no one knew about.
If it did not go through
it could not be formed.
But that stone
after being crushed
shone brightly,
making people fall in love with it.
The light shining around Ngoc
does not cast away the flower
like diamond or silver,
nor does it leave a trace
like a crystal veil.
Ngoc knows how to rejuvenate
and wears it more and more beautifully.
This characteristic is very similar
to the virtues of a gentleman
who has a lot of talent.
Therefore, a gentleman
who is gentle like Ngoc
is truly excellent.
There are nine things
that a gentleman should pay attention to,
just like Ngoc is beautiful
because he has nine virtues.
In the ancient book
of Prince Thuy Dia,
it is said that
Phu Ngoc is compassionate,
gracious,
benevolent,
pious,
scrupulous,
unorthodox,
generous,
merciful,
love,
kindness,
peaceful,
and loving.
In short,
Ngoc is precious
because it shows
the nine virtues.
Ong-nyung-ma-sang-pong-do-la-long-nyung-tu-go-no
Thanh-ting-ma-ko-hoa-vong-do-la-trui-tue-go-no
Kien-cuong-ma-kong-kwot-fuk-do-la-trui-tue-go-no
Ngay-ching-ma-kong-hai-ngoi-do-la-trui-tue-go-no
Chong-sang-ma-kong-kao-bong-do-la-trui-tue-go-no
Ko-the-vo-ma-kong-kong-gop-do-la-trui-tue-go-no
All the advantages and disadvantages can be expressed outwardly.
This is its sincerity.
Glamour and light affect each other.
Intimate but not offending each other.
This is its generosity.
Hit the far-off sound.
Neat and not messy.
This is its boldness.
Ngoc swore to be broken,
but refused to surrender to his work.
This is admirable.
This is also the beauty of the gentleman.
The gentleman has a heart like the moon.
The Chinese traditional culture is a god-given culture.
It has a long history.
It has a great reputation.
It determines the harmonious relationship between man and nature.
It shows the most harmonious nature of the universe, life, and morality.
Therefore, when comparing the gentleman's work with the moon,
the idea of the gentleman is based on Ngoc's morality
to give a profound explanation.
The gentleman believes that Ngoc is a symbol of the perfection of nature,
so man should also follow Ngoc's nature to perfect himself.
The gentleman said,
The gentleman was broken by Ngoc.
The gentleman was innocent.
Ngoc was innocent.
The gentleman's brokenness is like Ngoc's brightness.
Therefore, all the gentlemen in the past wore Ngoc,
and it was their inseparable object.
In addition, the politicians and the noblemen of the ancient times
also learned from Ngoc's nature,
from which they built their own standards of morality.
The Taoist also said,
The gentleman was broken by Ngoc.
The meaning is,
Although he wears a plain shirt,
but in his heart, like Ngoc's brightness.
This saying is intended to advise everyone
to keep their hearts clean,
not to lose the pure nature of the beginning.
In today's society,
everyone likes to wear glittering jewelry,
but often forget that Ngoc's brightness is needed in their hearts.
The nobleman cherished Ngoc,
not only because of the eye-catching appearance,
but also because of the value and virtue that it contains inside.
The old man wore Ngoc on his side,
also to remind himself from time to time
that there is virtue, there is regret, and there is virtue.
The gentleman was like Ngoc,
without any vanity.
In the poem, The Viet Phong Sutra, it is written,
The nobleman is like iron, like copper, like sand, like gold.
The meaning is,
The gentleman also had to go through
cutting, peeling, grinding, and ironing,
just like Ngoc.
Ngoc had to go through a lot of ironing
to be able to form and become valuable.
The process of ironing Ngoc
is also like the cultivation of a practitioner.
In the massage of the mind,
it is possible to increase the spiritual level.
The gentleman is like Ngoc,
though delicate,
but still willing to follow the principles
and have a good demeanor.
Therefore, the gentleman,
even though the gentleman is gentle,
mature, and skillful,
but still keeps his spirit.
Forgiving Ngoc is even more than pity.
The gentleman does not lose his fame.
In the situation, he always thinks for others,
but he will not be weak and weak.
The light of Ngoc is absorbed inside.
The gentleman is talented,
but still does not show it to the outside.
The outside is modest,
but the heart is upright.
He does not back down when facing big things.
He does not fight for small things.
Only a person like this
is worthy of being called a gentleman,
worthy of Ngoc's noble nature.
High morality is the manifestation of Taoism.
It can create happiness for the world.
Ngoc is in the principle of perfection.
Ngoc is in the pureness of the Buddha.
Ngoc is in the deep,
where there is light.
Ngoc is in the high,
where there is Dalai Lama.
Just like the gentleman,
where they go,
their spirit will be intensified.
Take the virtue to embrace the gold,
to bring grace to the world.
Next, we would like to send to the audience
the essay,
Not only poverty,
but also the real test of the will of the gentleman,
published on NTD.
In modern languages,
the two words, poverty and the same,
are often associated with each other.
Poverty and the same,
both mean poverty,
but have different meanings.
Poverty is not scary,
but the same is the real test of the will of the gentleman.
Why do I say that?
Poverty consists of two words combined together.
The upper part is poverty,
and the lower part is divide.
In ancient times,
people used the cover
to represent wealth.
Most of the words with the cover
are related to money,
such as money,
money,
precious,
cheap,
precious,
expensive,
mud,
but Hu Gio still felt humiliated if he became an emperor.
Chu Vu Vuong could be considered a great man,
but Ba Yi still refused to accept his fate.
They are like that, so am I.
To preserve my orientation and temperament,
death is nothing to worry about.
After saying that, Ben continued to drink wine.
At that time, Tieu Huyen's son cried loudly and said to Thai Thu
In the east of the country, there is a dangerous enemy.
The four sides of the army are mobilized.
Finance is definitely needed.
I am willing to take out 1,000,000,000 VND to claim my father's death.
Thai Thu immediately returned to beg for mercy.
Kong Tung Thuat agreed to bring money to exchange for life.
After that, Tieu Huyen secretly lived in his hometown
until Kong Tung Thuat passed away.
Kong Tung Thuat was not seduced by the officials.
Ly Nghiep gave up drinking and reading and refused to surrender.
Just like Tieu Huyen at the end of the Western Han Dynasty,
he rejected Kong Tung Thuat's invitation.
There was only one person left, and that was Ly Nghiep.
Kong Tung Thuat had a talent for martial arts since he was a child.
Kong Tung Thuat did not follow the rules.
Kong Tung Thuat used to work as a doctor,
and was a teacher, studying, and practicing martial arts.
Kong Tung Thuat was passed down from generation to generation in the Han Dynasty.
In the heyday of the Ming Dynasty,
Ly Nghiep was promoted to be a doctor.
At that time, because of his dissatisfaction with his illness,
Ly Nghiep refused to accept any medical treatment.
After that, during the chaos,
Kong Tung Thuat lived in the palace until the end of his life.
After Kong Tung Thuat became a doctor,
Ly Nghiep heard about Kong Tung Thuat's talent and invited him to be a doctor.
Ly Nghiep had been ill for many years,
so he often refused to take the job.
Kong Tung Thuat was very angry.
He immediately ordered Dai Hong Lu,
Duan Dung, to bring wine and invitations to the palace.
If he agreed, he would give the position to Kong Hau,
and if not, he would give the wine to Duan Dung.
Duan Dung, at the will of Kong Tung Thuat, told Ly Nghiep,
The world is now in chaos.
Who can say for sure?
He is alone in a deep and uncertain place.
His famous and virtuous temple
has been empty for 7 years.
The four seasons of good food have never been forgotten for him.
He should be above the phoenix, the person of wisdom,
under the thought of his children.
So fame and wealth are all preserved.
Isn't that great?
Now he has not taken the position for many years.
Some people suspect that he has a bad intention,
which will lead to death.
Ly Nghiep sighed that
the country is in danger, should not enter.
The country is in chaos, should not stay.
We work unkindly,
this is the meaning should not have.
The military is in danger,
the people are in danger,
Ha can bear the temptation of the high officials.
Duan Dung saw Ly Nghiep's firm attitude,
he suggested that he should talk to his family a little.
Ly Nghiep said,
The great minister is determined,
why call his wife and children?
After saying, he drank poisoned wine and died.
After Kong Tung Thuat,
Ly Nghiep said that he did not want to be an official,
which is extremely shocking.
Because of his arrogance with the intention of killing people behind their backs,
he had to go to Phuong Dieu to commit suicide,
and was given 100 pieces of cloth.
However, Ly Nghiep's son, Ly Vung,
refused to accept.
After settling in Thuc District,
Hoang Vu De, Dong Han House,
Ha Chieu Thu built a stone wall in front of Ly Nghiep's house.
At the same time, he recorded his high bloodthirst.
Not only did he have little wealth,
he also built a statue of him.
The old man once said,
Tao is great, Heaven is great, Earth is great,
Humanity is great.
Tao is great, Heaven is great, Earth is great,
Humanity is great.
If a person wants to become great,
of course, there must be a way.
Let's ask,
Who can be a gentleman?
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, we would like to send to you and all of you,
when a gentleman dies,
he will not say bad words,
as stated in NTD.
There is a saying in ancient language,
Gold and silver, who will take it?
The one who kisses, who will take it?
They speak harshly to each other.
There is also a saying,
Infections come out of the mouth,
flowers come out of the mouth.
Gentlemen are the ones who are determined to keep their mind calm.
First of all, they often use their mouths as their heads.
In life, there are good fates,
there are also bad fates.
If you know to be humble,
to be peaceful,
to be kind,
and to overcome the bad fates,
then the hardships in life will be reduced,
and life will become brighter.
However,
when you come up with a selfish idea,
and want to protect yourself,
it is very difficult to control your emotions.
When emotions are not controlled,
we will use harsh words,
violence,
or similar negative things
to respond to the threatening attack of the other party.
The result is that both sides are hurt,
and bad fates are not resolved.
There is a saying,
Kindness is a three-way tube.
Kindness is a six-way tube.
Therefore,
in the old days,
when a gentleman took up the sword,
he did not say harsh words.
Although they may have been treated unfairly before,
when they left that place,
they did not say bad things about others.
Therefore,
to be humble,
to be kind,
to anyone who speaks,
is also beneficial.
A gentleman who takes up the sword does not speak harshly.
A gentleman who takes up the sword does not speak harshly
is a sentence in the Book of War, the Book of Peace.
It means that
a person who is humble
when he decides not to come back to anyone
does not say harsh words
and hurts the other person.
If we think more deeply about the meaning of the above sentence,
we can see that
a person of noble character
has gone through a thorough consideration
before making the decision to sever ties
with the wrong religions.
Therefore,
he will not hold a grudge in his heart
and will still keep the style of a gentleman
with the other people.
This is a sentence,
also a quote,
in the Book of War.
It is said that
Nhat Nghị was a general in China
who was very talented in using his soldiers.
He once helped Yen Chieu Vuong defeat Te
and became a general.
After Yen Chieu Vuong passed away,
Yen Hoi Vuong ascended the throne.
Yen Hoi Vuong did not like Nhat Nghị.
Moreover,
Te used a countermeasure
to make Yen Hoi Vuong take over Nhat Nghị's army.
Nhat Nghị was afraid of being hunted
and immediately fled to Triệu.
As a result,
Nhat Nghị's army was defeated.
Yen Hoi Vuong wrote a letter
to condemn Nhat Nghị.
Nhat Nghị wrote in the letter
that a gentleman who gives up his sword
does not speak ill of others.
He is loyal to his country
and does not speak ill of others.
He said that a gentleman
who gives up his sword
does not speak ill of others.
He is loyal to his country
and does not speak ill of others.
Nhat Nghị wanted to explain
about his noble reputation.
The result came later.
Yen Hoi Vuong no longer
made it difficult for Nhat Nghị.
In today's life,
the broken friendship
or the tense collaboration
are common things.
Friends at the wrong time
immediately turn into enemies
is not strange.
That's why there is a so-called
Those who do not have manners
when broken relationships
often curse,
even touch each other's feet,
harm each other, etc.
In the end, the vow
will not come back.
After giving up the sword,
they still use malicious words
to attack others.
It is a sign of
lack of morality.
There is a saying
Ong Ong warns the time of Hà Liệu
It means Ong Ong warns
when to stop.
If bad luck does not solve
there is no way to end forever.
In the end, it is still
hatred,
insecurity,
self-harm, suffering.
The Buddha said
to be angry in the heart
is like drinking poison
while waiting for others to die.
Arrogance,
greed,
meekness,
tolerance
is the prelude
to eliminate bad luck.
People with noble qualities
will not have enemies in their hearts.
The biggest difficulty in life
is not the poverty of material things,
but the spirit
that can't be peaceful.
Always carry in you
the virtue of meekness and benevolence,
which can be tolerant
of others' mistakes.
No matter what happens,
we will not say
harsh words.
There is a saying in the ancient language
Gold and silver,
who can afford to drink?
Smart people,
who can afford
to speak harsh words?
There is also a saying
Illnesses come and go,
bad luck comes and goes.
Those who are determined,
focused,
positive,
will always be the first.
