AI GeneratedThis video provides a quick, 5-minute natural makeup tutorial specifically designed for busy new mothers. The focus is on using minimal products and simple techniques to achieve a fresh, awake appearance without requiring high precision or significant time, ensuring the look is practical for the unpredictable nature of caring for a newborn.
Let's create an easy 5-minute natural makeup look especially for busy moms with a newborns.
Something that will help you look fresh, awake and put together in just a few minutes.
And thank you to Merit for sponsoring today's video.
And honestly, I know these products extremely well.
Look how much I love each and every jar.
And some of them have almost completely run out.
So I'll be sharing a natural everyday makeup look
you can apply quickly without complicated techniques or perfect precision.
Let's begin with the skin prep.
Hydrated skin actually helps your makeup apply to your skin faster,
blend more easily and look much more natural.
So never skip this step even if you didn't sleep well.
And this is a biophase serum, so make sure you shake it well first.
I'm applying two pumps and gently pressing it into my skin with the hands.
You don't need to spend 5 minutes massaging your face.
Just distribute it evenly, press it in and give it a few seconds to absorb.
The formula feels lightweight and contains hyaluronic acid and 2% niacinamide.
It gives the skin immediate hydration and glow
without leaving a heavy or greasy residue underneath the makeup.
Postpartum skin can behave differently because of hormonal changes.
It may feel more dehydrated or sensitive,
or you may notice new breakouts, especially around the chin and jawline.
In this case, a facial massage doesn't spread the hormonal blemishes, but
being gentle is always a better choice when the skin feels irritated or reactive.
If your skin feels good and you enjoy facial massage, just go for it.
Makeup and skincare are never completely a one-size-fits-all.
Next step is foundation.
And this is a foundation and concealer in one, but I'm not going to apply it all over my face.
For quick natural makeup, I prefer strategic coverage.
And it's faster, it feels lightweight on the skin,
and it keeps the finished makeup looking like real skin.
I'm starting around my eyes, where my skin naturally looks a little darker.
Then I'm applying a small amount around my nose, over any redness or discoloration,
and mainly through the center of my face and T-zone.
I'm leaving the perimeter of the face mostly bare.
And new moms are constantly kissing, holding, and cuddling their babies,
so this probably isn't the moment for a heavy full-glam foundation routine.
And we want to use the smallest amount of the makeup that still creates a fresh, even complexion.
Also, look at how little product I have left.
That should tell you everything.
This complexion stick has never let me down.
Also, you can blend it with the Merit brush number 1.
This brush gives it more control than a large foundation brush.
So I can keep the coverage exactly where I place it,
and instead of spreading it across the entire face.
I also have a deeper shade, and you can use a deeper complexion stick
as a quick cream bronzer around the perimeter of the face.
But if we are going a true 5-minute makeup routine, bronzer is optional.
Next, blushes.
When the body is recovering after pregnancy and birth,
blush is one of the fastest ways to bring life and dimension back into the face.
And you can practically apply it with your eyes closed,
which is useful when you're functioning on newborn sleep.
And if you naturally have redness around the nose or in the center of the cheeks,
avoid bringing too much blush into that area.
Keep most of the color slightly higher and farther away.
Eyeshadows.
You don't need a full eyeshadow palette or complicated eye makeup tutorial
to make your eyes look bigger and more defined.
One soft neutral eyeshadow can add structure, create depth,
and make the eyes appear more awake.
I'm using my fingertip, but also we can use just a small amount of this eyeshadow
and apply it with the Merit brush number 2.
And this brush gives me more control over the placement,
but the edges still look soft and diffused,
which is exactly what we need for a quick everyday eye makeup.
I'm placing the eyeshadow close to the upper lash line first,
and then I'm blending it upward and slightly outward.
If you have hooded eyes, always apply and check your eyeshadow
while your eyes are open and your face is relaxed.
If you apply everything inside the fold,
the eyeshadow will disappear as soon as you look straight ahead and relax your forehead.
And then soften it upward and outward
with whatever product remains on the brush number 2 or your fingertip.
The cream to powder texture gives us the easier application of a cream eyeshadow
and just soft matte finish.
And you don't have to coordinate several different eyeshadow shades.
If your baby needs you and you are interrupted, you need to stop at this point.
Makeup already looks finished enough to leave the house.
Next step, mascara.
I'm starting directly at the roots of the lashes,
and I gently press and wiggle the brush at the base before pulling through to the ends.
And here is an important professional makeup artist trick.
So when you press the mascara brush against the roots of the lashes,
you deposit a little extra color to the base.
The darker lash line gives the eyes a definition similar to a very soft eyeliner,
but without needling an eye pencil, liquid liner or extra step.
If you have those little smudges,
you just can connect them together with a little tip of the brush
on the other side of the brush number 2.
And that's it.
It will be like soft, diffused, blended eyeliner.
And TB mascara is also perfect for a low-maintenance makeup routine
because it removes easily with warm water.
Look at this.
Just apply warm water,
gently loosen the mascara,
and you'll see the little tube sliding off the lashes.
For a new mom who may need to remove her makeup as quickly as possible,
that matters.
And for the final step, I'm using Merit Signature Lip Blush.
And this has a soft blurred finish,
so it doesn't require the precision or traditional matte lipstick.
No lip liner, no lip brush,
no perfectly sharp outline.
I'm applying directly to the center of the lips and blending it outward.
You can keep one light layer for a soft,
just beaten lip,
or build another layer if you want more color.
A blurred lip is perfect for quick everyday makeup
because it still looks polished as it wears,
and you don't have to constantly check the edges
or worry about maintaining a very precise lip shape.
So this is a kind of lip product you can apply quickly before leaving the house,
even if you don't have a mirror.
And that's it.
This is the finished five makeup look.
It's great for a normal day at home,
a walk with a baby,
a doctor's appointment,
a coffee.
We didn't use heavy foundation,
precise eyeliner,
multiple eyeshadows,
or any technique that requires complete silence and concentration.
Because a realistic new mom makeup routine
needs to survive little hiccups throughout the day.
So let me know in the comments
how much time do you realistically have for your everyday makeup routine.
All the mirrored products, brushes, and exact shades I used
will be listed in the description box below.
