Hello, welcome to this 6th episode of the podcast Tricot and Crochet.
It's been a while since I filmed, it was the holidays, I didn't have a camera with me
and at one point I was also sick.
I changed my phone.
By the way, maybe you'll see a difference in the video or maybe in the sound, I don't know.
As it's a new phone now, the other one was a little old and this one is more recent.
So we'll see what happens.
Today I have 7 projects to present to you, 5 finished and 2 in progress.
The first finished project is this sweater that I'm wearing.
I had already presented it to you in my projects in the previous episode, it seems to me.
So it's the long-sleeved updated sweater that I found on the Bergère de France website.
So it's a free model.
I'm going to show you that by getting up a little bit.
I didn't block the sweater by pure laziness.
So that's why I pull a little bit on the sleeves and on the bottom
so you can see what it looks like if it had been blocked.
I really like the point.
So I didn't block it by pure laziness.
And as I wear it, I realize that I like it with the sleeves that go up a little bit
and the bottom that goes up a little bit.
Because I tend to go up the sleeves of my sweaters.
So I don't even need to go up the sleeves.
And the fact that it's a little shorter on the bottom, I find that nice.
Because it's the only sweater I have that's a little short.
So it's nice, it changes.
So I really wanted to do it for this summer or the end of this summer
so as not to be too cold in the evening.
And a big sweater, it was a little too hot.
So I wanted to make this little sweater with a cotton base.
The thread that I used is a thread that I bought in a store
that sells creative leisure equipment, children's handicrafts,
really cheap here in Germany.
So it's a store called Teddy.
It's a thread that is rather light gray with a few pink and blue tones.
So the composition is 58% cotton and 42% polyacrylic.
I made the size M of the model following the instructions in French
for most of the sweater.
But for the sleeves, I preferred to look at the explanations in English
simply because I didn't understand the explanations in French.
I had a hard time understanding what was expected of me.
It was a real headache.
I really didn't understand the abbreviations, the explanations.
So I said to myself that I was going to see how to explain in English
and there it was much clearer.
So if you ever have trouble making this model for the sleeve part,
go see the English side of the model because it's clearer, simpler.
There you go, a little tip.
So other than that, the size I chose, the M, is a good size.
At least when you don't block it.
Because it's true that if you block it afterwards, it widens a lot more in all directions.
So without blocking, for me, the size M is very good.
And it was very easy to make and fast.
Especially since the needles, I used 3.5 for all the edges
and 5.5 for the rest, for the main pattern.
And so obviously, yes, it goes very quickly to knit.
And that's great to have a sweater that you can make quickly.
There you go.
So it's already finished for this model.
Of course, I will put all the links to the models, to the sites of what I used
and what I present to you in this podcast.
The second project I have to present to you is a project that I improvised.
So there is no model.
It's a little bag, a little bag that I made with a giant knitting needle
for the main part, so the pocket here.
So I just made a tube.
I started by making a tube that I then sewed at the base to close the bag.
And reached a length that I found correct, acceptable for me.
I folded a part of the stitches and I only continued more or less half to make the fold.
I sewed a small button and enlarged a space to make the buttonhole, nothing complicated.
For the handle, I used a 10 hook by simply making chain stitches.
So it's a little project that I improvised because I had the idea
to maybe do a creative workshop with children to make it.
Because I noticed that in some of my groups, even several of my groups,
children, especially girls, liked to make fake handbags out of paper and DIY.
And I thought, well, if they are interested, we could make little bags like that.
It also works for boys, of course, it's not just for girls.
So I tried to make it with a giant knitting needle,
because it's still the simplest thing for children.
They don't lose their stitches, they can leave their project there,
waiting very, very easily without being afraid that it will be erased.
But I realized that it's quite long, so I don't know if I would suggest having it.
Maybe I should do it in several sessions, because it would really interest the children.
I don't know.
So for now, it's more of a stand-by.
In any case, I tested it, I know what to expect if I ever want to propose it.
I used quite thick thread,
because it's what I find most effective for giant knitting needles.
It's a thread that I also bought at the Teddy store.
It's not really a brand, it's their brand, the Teddy brand of thread.
And it's 100% acrylic.
Yes, that's it.
So I have nothing special to say about this project.
I just wanted to introduce it to you, because it can be a nice idea,
if you ever need ideas or inspiration.
Yeah, I don't know.
Then I made a pair of socks for my brother.
There you go.
So, very, very simple.
I made 15 rows of 1x1 ribbed coats,
in a contrasting navy blue color.
Then with a highlighted ball in blue tones.
It was 60 rows of jerseys.
Then I made a heel reinforced by following the model of Hermione's socks.
It's the heel model that I prefer,
especially because there are foam borders on the side.
I like it a lot because it's much easier to catch the stitches.
And it doesn't create any holes when you pick up the stitches
and continue to knit afterwards.
And it's really nice.
When I say that I took the heel model of Hermione's socks,
it's not entirely true.
It's just for the borders.
Because here, I'm trying to do something that goes with 1x1 ribbed coats.
So this side here, it's not true.
It's more for the border that I followed Hermione's model.
Then I took a normal jersey for 48 rows.
And there I followed the model of Hermione's socks for the toe.
Adapted of course, because in the model of Hermione's socks,
it's for a pair of socks with a round of 64 stitches.
And my brother doesn't have such a thin ankle.
Because 60 stitches is what we use for women.
So I made him 80 stitches for the toe.
The balls that I used are from the brand Sporty.
I don't really know if it's really a brand or not.
But these are balls that I bought in a supermarket last winter,
I think, in a German store.
But they are real socks.
75% wool and 25% polyamide.
This one is the auto-shining ball in blue tones.
So the reference, if ever, it can be useful, I don't know, it's 1894.
And the contrasting color, so I had leftovers, so I finished it.
It's also from the same brand, Sporty.
And the reference, number 54.
So I tried to make sure that the two socks are identical,
more or less, in terms of stripes and all that.
That's also why I put on contrasting wool.
Because my brother, he likes it when things are very identical.
What I can totally understand.
Personally, socks, if they are identical, I don't mind.
And I think it gives a really feminine side.
I think it has its charm.
But here I really wanted to do something that he liked.
So I made sure that I take the ball more or less in the same place,
on each sock, at each step,
so that it looks identical as much as possible.
Maybe you can see that at the heel, it's not really exactly the same.
But I think that when you look from afar, it's okay.
And overall, they are good.
So that will be his Christmas gift.
I hope you will like it.
In any case, wool socks for this winter.
I don't think it's a no.
Then a finished project that I don't have with me.
But I'm going to put you a picture.
It's a little plush, a little amigurumi,
that I made for one of my nieces for her Christmas gift.
But I don't have it with me because I gave it to my mother-in-law.
So my niece's grandmother.
Who is going to make a package with several things to send for Christmas.
So I gave it to her, so she can put everything with it.
So it's an amigurumi from the book,
I think in French it's called Les Petits Animaux de Kouké.
I bought the book here in Germany.
So it's called Kleine Heckel Freund.
And then the little character that I made in the German version is called Boba the dog.
I don't know if they have the same name in all languages.
In the German version it's called Boba.
So that's the image of the model, of the example.
I didn't use the same colors,
because I wanted to use the remains that I had.
Quite simply.
If I tell you directly about the threads that I used.
So everything is 100% cotton thread.
I think it's easier like that for washing the plush.
And if everything is made of the same quality of wool or the same material,
I think it avoids problems.
So for the natural color.
The natural color is this one from the Samba brand.
So the reference is the number 2, 002.
For the beige I used the rest of the thread that I had bought at Aldi.
The green and the gray are from the Grundel Cotton Fun brand.
It was also leftovers.
The black is Twister Ibiza 090.
The yellow is also the Samba brand, color 004.
Yellow.
And the orange is from the Katania Schachenmayer brand, color 281.
That's it.
Like that I made you a quick tour of the threads I used.
It was quite easy to make as a model for your sister.
I am satisfied with the result.
It is quite cute.
The eyes, yes, as usual I did not put safety eyes.
But I rather preferred the embroidered ones.
Because I think it's much safer for children.
Because even if they are safety eyes that are not supposed to come out, etc.
In any case, when they are embroidered, there is no risk.
The thread is well hooked.
The plush is soft and soft everywhere.
There is no place where it is hard.
So I think it's nicer.
And I like this little handmade side that the embroidery gives.
The little model here with his sweater, he has a little cord.
A little thread that thickens.
I didn't do it because I didn't feel like it.
I thought his sweater was beautiful.
For the different colors, it's because I wanted to use the rest of the threads I had.
And I used almost all my leftovers.
That's nice.
So, little thing to note.
In any case for the German version.
I don't know for the French version.
Because I used the book with the translation in German.
There are two small errors in the model.
Which are not too serious.
But maybe for someone who is not used to making amigurumi.
Or who is a beginner.
It can be problematic.
Because we don't necessarily know how to overcome these errors.
So there is a small mistake in the 23rd row of the head.
Yes, there you go.
So there is a small mistake in the 23rd row of the head.
I will not give the explanations in detail.
Because, of course, it's a job that deserves a salary.
So I'm just going to give an explanation.
So that those who have the book can understand.
But the others, of course, it's going to be a little abstract.
But in the 23rd row of the head.
There are all the explanations.
For the increases, the decreases.
The number of tight stitches to do.
And just at the end, I forgot to say.
That there were still a number of tight stitches to do.
To finish the round.
But that's quite logical.
You will see.
After a while, there are 5 tight stitches left to do.
And it was not indicated in the model.
But don't worry.
You just have to do those 5 tight stitches.
It finishes the round.
And then everything fits together correctly.
And an error that is perhaps a little more complicated.
For someone who is just starting out.
And who doesn't know amigurumi well.
These are for the ears in row number 6.
So there is a time when it says to do 1 increase and 2 tight stitches.
And instead of 2 tight stitches, it's 1 increase.
So I hope it can be useful.
For those who bought the book or the model.
This way, I managed to finish the little plush.
And that it is correct.
And that it falls on the right number of stitches in the end.
It's the kind of thing that can be complicated.
When you are entirely based on the book.
And you don't really know how to do it.
When there is a little problem.
I really like this little plush.
Anyway, I really like the amigurumi of this creator.
I don't know if I pronounce her name correctly.
But I like them a lot.
They are very beautiful.
They are infinite.
Very precise.
Although there are small errors in the book.
At least in the German book.
But of all the amigurumi I've done so far.
I think it's the ones with the finest and most precise details.
And I really like it.
I'm going to show you another pair of socks.
They seem thinner.
But they are not necessarily.
It's just that I made a few notches.
All along the sock.
So that they stay in place.
These are socks for one of my brothers-in-law.
Also for Christmas.
I made 15 rows of 1 1 torso notches.
In a contrasting color.
Dark green.
I bring you a little closer.
Then 60 rows of 1 1 notches.
This time no torso.
Normal.
Then a reinforced heel.
The same way as the socks I showed you before.
For my brother.
I didn't put any contrasting colors for the heel.
You can see.
Then I continued with the bottom of the foot in jersey.
So that it is comfortable when walking.
I made 48 rows again.
And the tip next.
Taking as a reference the model of the Thermion socks.
Also.
The wool that I used.
So for the wool.
I was going to say self-shining.
But these are not really stripes.
But here is the patterned wool.
I used again a wool from the Sporty brand.
Bought in a German supermarket.
75% virgin wool.
25% polyamide.
And the color is 1890.
I really find the pattern very pretty.
So there I didn't pay attention.
That it is two identical socks.
Because I think my brother-in-law.
He is less on horseback on this kind of detail.
Than my brother.
And for the contrasting color.
That I used for the ankle and the tip.
It's a Long Yarns Super Socks.
Which is a dark green.
Really very nice.
Which is super wash.
And so the composition is also.
A composition of wool socks.
75% virgin wool.
25% nylon.
And the color.
So the reference is 907.0018.
Here.
And here.
I have nothing special to say.
On these socks again.
I hope she will like them.
They are very warm.
They are nice.
Very elastic.
We'll see if she likes them.
I think so.
Because the last ones.
I also made her a pair of wool socks.
And from what I understood.
He put them on almost all the time.
So I'm happy.
That's why I'm making her a pair again.
Because when you appreciate a gift.
I still want to make more gifts.
Here.
In our finished project.
It's an amigurumi plush.
She is so big.
Can we still call it amigurumi?
Here.
A hook plush.
Amigurumi style but giant.
I don't know if you recognize her.
But it's Edwige.
Harry Potter's owl.
I'm a big fan of Harry Potter.
And I had already presented.
An amigurumi that I had made.
But much smaller.
It's the same model.
It's just that this time.
I made it with a hook.
Much bigger.
I made it with a 7mm hook.
And I used.
I don't know what it's called.
This type of thread.
But the threads.
A little soft.
That we see everywhere in stores now.
I feel like it's fashionable.
To make plushes with this thread.
Of course it's 100% synthetic thread.
With the composition.
100% polyester.
Again it's thread that I bought.
At the Teddy store.
Because it was really cheap.
At this place.
And anyway it's 100% synthetic.
This kind of thread.
To make this plush.
So obviously.
When I presented you the other model.
I said that it needed almost nothing.
Like quantity of thread.
But for this.
You need a lot.
The model.
It's the same model as the last time.
It's a free model in English.
It's called Headfish.
The All Crochet Pattern.
From the Open Elephant blog.
I will put the link in the description.
To be able to make this plush.
I had to use.
4 balls.
Of 50g.
Using a 7mm hook.
I needed less.
A black ball.
Also of 50g.
Because it's just to make.
The details of the beak.
The eyes.
The little pattern on the wings.
I think it's so cute.
I like it a lot.
It was easy to make.
Pretty fast.
Of course.
You need a lot of reinforcement.
It's soft.
I think I will make.
A little scarf.
From one of the Harry Potter houses.
I'm making a second one.
Because it's two little girls.
Two sisters.
They asked me to make.
A little Headfish plush.
But in the end.
I decided to make a big one.
This one is in progress.
I decided to make.
Two big plushes.
They asked me to do something.
To differentiate.
Their respective plushes.
I can understand.
I also have brothers and sisters.
And I know that when we have the same things.
We want to have something different.
So ours is unique.
I'm going to make.
A little scarf.
From their house.
If I understood correctly.
One wants Gryffindor.
And the other Sardegna.
I need to find the thread.
I showed you a project in progress.
It's the second plush.
You can see the shape.
I didn't fill it yet.
I'm not going to put the threads in.
It's the practical thing.
With amigurumi.
We can leave the threads inside.
And it participates in the filling.
This is the back of the plush.
This is the front.
Her torso.
And her head.
Now I'm at the stage.
I'm going to make the face.
Before doing the rest.
A finished project.
It's a plush.
I like to make plushes.
For the children of my entourage.
My nephew, my niece.
The children of our friends.
This is a plush for my nephew.
The son of my sister.
There is a bit of filling here.
Here.
It's not the filling that comes out.
But I had to.
There is a bit of filling.
Which is badly stored in my box.
It's a dinosaur.
It's a plush.
But it's not an amigurumi.
I wanted to test something different.
I think in English.
They call this technique.
Ractole.
I'm not sure.
We crochet.
Back and forth.
The shape of the dino.
We end up with.
A front part.
A back part.
We have to crochet all around.
To sew.
To join the two parts.
I used a free model.
In English.
I found it on the internet.
I will put the link in the description.
The model's name is.
Brachiorus.
Free crochet pattern.
From the blog.
Spin a yarn crochet.
The name of the dino.
The creator gave a name.
To his dino.
His name is Brian.
It's Brian.
In the model.
Brian has colors.
A little more fun.
Unusual.
I wanted to make a classic dino.
With light green and dark green.
I used for that.
What a surprise.
From Teddy.
100% polyester.
A light green and a dark green.
I find it very cute.
I really like the final result.
I also used black thread.
To embroider.
Twister Epissa number 90.
I find it very cute.
I really like the result.
It's nice.
I will not lie.
I did not like to do it.
I really wanted to finish it.
I do not like this method.
It does not hold well.
It rolls on itself.
There are threads everywhere.
Every time you have to do a new part.
You have to cut the thread.
Put the thread back.
Hang the thing.
There are threads everywhere.
When you assemble.
It's really a headache.
The filling is not as easy.
As for an amigurumi.
It was a good experience.
I'm glad I tested it.
My nephew.
He loves dinosaurs.
I think he will like it.
But I will not do it again.
I do not like this technique.
You have my honest opinion.
On this project.
Last project to present you.
A project in progress.
It's a pair of socks.
That I make for myself.
It comes from the book.
Knitting.
These socks.
All the techniques of Émilie Drouin.
And Elodie Meurant.
It's a book that I like a lot.
It is well known in the knitting community.
These are the socks.
Saturday glitter.
This is the picture of the model.
I did not do it with a wool thread.
I cracked on a thread.
100% synthetic.
82% polyacrylic.
18% polyester.
I love this girl.
It's called Einhorn Woll.
The wool of the unicorn.
It's so cute.
The colors are pastel.
So cute.
Pink, purple, blue, iron.
It shines.
I could not resist.
I thought it was adorable.
I really wanted to do a project with it.
When I saw this model.
Of Saturday glitter.
I said to myself.
It goes very well with this wool.
I think.
I thought about it.
The result is adorable.
I have already finished one.
I'm doing the second.
Here.
I never block my socks.
I try to show you as much as possible.
I think it's so cute.
It's cute, it's cute, it's cute.
It's an assembly by the tip.
It's an assembly that I'm not used to doing.
I'm used to starting with the ankle.
But when you see the finish of the ankle.
You see it's not possible to start here.
You really have to start with the tip.
I think I'll try to do more regularly.
Socks where you start with the tip.
To train this technique.
There is a lace pattern.
Which is very simple to do.
And to retain.
Which has a very beautiful result.
Very elegant.
Of course.
Maybe this elegant part.
Is a little spoiled.
By the fun side of the sock.
But I love it.
I do not know if you see.
It has a striped effect.
And with stripes above.
Diagonally.
I love it.
I found it too hot.
I made 64 stitches.
For the part of the laces.
We knit.
It's longer than that.
There it's wrapped.
We knit.
Normally.
Then where there are small holes.
It's a little time like that.
And then we fold.
And we make a seam inside.
There is a seam inside.
I did not do my seam very well.
I'm not good at sewing.
On wool.
But.
I do not care.
I find it pretty like that.
Really adorable.
And so there.
I'm doing the second.
The second sock.
I did not completely note
the number of stitches I made.
But what's nice is that with the little ones.
With the lace stitch.
I just have to count the little holes.
And I know how many I made.
And I can check with the other.
How many holes I have for such a step.
And that's it.
It's practical.
I find it funny.
Rather than having to write everything down.
I introduced you to all the projects.
Finished.
Of the summer period.
So of course.
I'm going to finish.
This owl.
This headband.
And this little pair of socks.
And I'm going to start.
In the Christmas gifts.
And I think.
A lot of socks.
Yes.
And maybe.
Other winter accessories.
But I really can not wait.
To make winter accessories.
That's what I prefer to do.
I would like to talk to you.
Before finishing this video.
Of some little purchases.
That I made.
So.
First of all.
I wanted to introduce you.
This case.
That I bought.
At the store.
There is already a moment.
I do not remember if it was spring or summer.
I think it's cool.
Because we often see.
We have heard of it for a long time.
Holes.
To store hooks.
Not holes.
Storage for needles.
To knit hooks.
Which looks like that.
And there I found in a store.
A case.
It's to put pencils.
And children's feathers.
Or not necessarily children.
Holes.
And I said to myself.
That it really looked like storage.
For knitting needles.
And hooks.
Here.
So I stored my hooks.
And my knitting needles.
There is one that just fell.
I'm going to pick it up.
And I think it's too cool.
You do not have to look everywhere.
Right and left.
Specific material.
To store the hook.
Just take a case.
Which has this shape.
And that's it.
I do not think they still sell them.
To be restrained.
Because it's not this season.
It's the Nebula collection.
But we can look.
In the parts of the case.
For the hook.
It can be a tip.
Otherwise I bought a ball.
That I love.
It's super cool too.
It's called Black Dragon.
Opal.
There are shades.
Purple, blue.
And a lot of black.
And I really like that.
I'm going to make a pair of socks.
I love blue and purple.
It's perfect.
Of course it's a composition.
Sock wool.
75% wool.
25% polyamide.
And the difference for the color.
Ah yes.
Color is 99.64.
Look at this little dragon.
I love it.
I'm a big fan.
And I received as a birthday gift.
From a friend.
She also offered me a ball.
Sock wool.
Again in shades that I like.
You can see it.
I don't know the color.
But the shades I see the most.
Are the shades I like.
Blue, purple.
There is also iron.
Red, pink.
Very pretty.
It's from the brand.
Lana Grossa.
80% wool.
20% polyamide.
I see they are washable.
Which is nice.
And hardware.
Which is nice too.
100g.
The other one was also 100g.
And the color.
The reference is 17.54.
I love it a lot too.
I would also make a pair of socks for myself.
Because it was my birthday gift.
It was not a birthday gift idea.
That's all for this 6th podcast.
Thank you very much for watching with me.
I think it was the longest I filmed.
I chatted a lot.
It's been a long time since I filmed.
I hope you liked it.
Maybe there are ideas that you found interesting.
Projects you want to do again.
In the comments,
if you also do knitting and crochet,
what are your projects in progress?
Or your projects that you finished recently.
That you like.
Sometimes I have trouble finding inspiration.
So if you write in the comments
your ideas or projects,
it could give me inspiration.
