What is going on guys, George here with another video and yes welcome to Utah. We are standing
in Moab right now. We did a long stretch yesterday from LA all the way to Utah. It took us about 13
hours with traffic. We did make some gas stops here and there and for the most part it was an
amazing drive with some scenic views. Now that we're here we're going to make some coffee and
we're going to get this trip started. Our goal is not to stay here in Utah, our goal is to drive
the next three hours into Colorado and do one of the gnarliest trails I'm ever going to do in my
life and that is Blackbird Pass. After a good cup of coffee and some good old-fashioned oatmeal it
was time to hit the road on a three-hour stretch to Colorado. Tally Ride and Emo Gene in Colorado
are known for having some of the most iconic trails in the United States. From the beautiful
scenery to the intense elevation, Colorado has it all. On our way up to the trailhead we did pass a
small little town called Uri which is south of Blackbird Pass. Let me tell you guys this place
was super nice. The buildings were all old school like if they were stuck in the 1960s and it was
just a great little town to check out. Alright fellas so we just made it to the trailhead of
Blackbird Pass and I'm not going to lie the weather is beautiful today. We're going to go up and I'm
going to show you guys exactly what this trail has to offer. I'm also going to be introducing you to
the crew. Enough said let's go eat some lunch and let me introduce you guys to the guys. Hey what's
up I'm Jonar. I got a 2010 FJ Cruiser off-road edition Adventure Squad FJC. What's up everyone
my name is Al and this is my 2016 Toyota 4Runner SR5. What up guys my name is Booney. I am the owner
of the 2014 FJ Cruiser. What's up guys my name is Virgil and I drive a 2015 Toyota 4Runner
Trail Edition Premium. And you already know my name is George Fernandez and I drive
a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. Enough yapping let's hit the trail and own it.
This is one of those trails that you do not want to be distracted by your phone by a camera.
Just focus on the driving portion of it. I definitely do recommend you putting your car
or your truck on four low and put it in first gear and just let the car do its job.
All right guys I'm the first runner up. Let's go down and see what this baby can do. All right
we are here at the steps. George is going first. Come down slow slow. I'm not going to lie I'm
shaking right now but we're just going to take it easy. We're going to let the truck and suspension
do all the work. Now I do have it on four low and I am pretty much on first gear. I'm just
allowing the truck to do all the work and the flexing. Now I am kind of hogging the right wall
a little too much but man if you just look at that drop off to my left I think you would be
doing the same thing. Once everybody made it down safely we were greeted with the amazing
views of Tally Ride. Not only that right behind us was an amazing beautiful waterfall and right
next to it were the remains of an old mining camp. As you can see the ruins are still there.
The cables are still there. Some of the old train tracks are still there. This place is absolutely
beautiful. Now for this next section of the trail man we're not done yet. As you can tell we are
still very close to the edge and man it's giving me goosebumps but we're going to take it slow and
we're going to get to the bottom of this. Now for the rest of the trail as you can see it's still
pretty narrow. Not only that but we also hit some switchbacks which will definitely definitely
definitely require us to take our time. That way we don't go off the cliff and risk anything
happening to us. All right guys so these switchbacks right here can be a little intimidating
I'm not going to lie but as long as you have a spotter pretty much showing you exactly how far
forward you can go and have you back up and then make that quick tight turn you should be okay but
man look at this. That is a long way down fellas. The one thing that will definitely stay with me
forever when it comes onto this trail is the group that I went with today. These guys had my back at
all times and they know I had their back as well. If they needed a spotter I was there, if I needed
a spotter they were there and that is absolutely key when hitting these types of trails. Now the
views man that is something that you just have to come here and experience it for yourself.
Yeah the drone shots might be nice, yeah the canon camera might capture you know some pretty cool
shots but nothing like seeing it for yourself. After a long day it was finally time to settle
down and go to our campsite to make some bomb food and enjoy the rest of the night.
That's how we do man, thank you. That's so good.
All right guys good morning from Colorado and man oh man last night was absolutely cold. I had my
buddy heater at full blast because I was yeah I was dying of cold. I had a sleeping bag,
three big blankets. You know what I didn't bring was my old school Mexican tiger blanket which I
should have done but with this I was still cold. With the buddy heater I was still cold.
It was probably like 25, 29, 28 right around there and that's pretty brutal you know especially when
you're not necessarily prepared to be camping in this type of weather but check out this view.
Say hi boys. So last night I told you guys that usually when we roll up at night we wake up to
some pretty awesome views. Well check this place out. So down there as you can see a little lake.
Let's walk down there and check it out. Every time I see a lake you know I think of fishing
and I doubt there's fish there but like always let's go see if there's any fish and if there is
well unfortunately I forgot my fishing pole but next time I come to Colorado you already know
I'll bring that fishing pole and get some fishing done. Check it out. It almost looks like there was
a foundation there for like a small cabin or something but yeah there's not a lot of water.
It looks pretty dirty too so even if there was fish I don't think I'd be down to eat it. So this is
where we stayed and here to the left. Check out that huge cabin. That thing's pimp. Solar panels
and everything. Looks like one of those like cabins that you see in scary movies where like
the guy comes and he's chasing you all around and then you end up in the forest somewhere
and this is where you die. After enjoying a beautiful morning and a delicious home-style
breakfast at camp it was finally time to pack up our bags and head on to our next destination.
Our next destination is going to be Imojin Pass where we're probably going to see some of the most
beautiful scenic routes here in Colorado. I can't express this enough but it's definitely a blessing
to be able to travel with your best friends and enjoy these moments together whether it's hitting
a trail or just simply sitting around a campfire and enjoying a good meal or a good talk. Moments
like these are absolutely priceless.
