AI GeneratedThe St. Louis Blues are prioritizing roster depth and internal talent as they head into the new season. Despite having an abundance of NHL-caliber players, management is reluctant to trade depth pieces, preferring to keep experienced \"character guys\" and hungry young talent available to mitigate the impact of injuries.
St. Louis Blues and the trade front as he spoke in detail on Alex Dean's plan heading into the season
with a lot of players within this organization. This key update shows exactly their plans going
into not only the beginning of the season but heading towards the trade deadline. Plus we get
an update coming from Jim Montgomery on an injury and the Lions heading into their next game. We're
going to break down all this and so much more so Darius let's just dive straight into it today.
We're the St. Louis Blues continue to play hockey. It's so fun to see that they're finally back but
the first update coming through is the lineup heading into the next game versus the Dallas
Stars. A lot of the Lions you can see of course you're going to have Holloway, Thomas and Snugger
the projected first line again going into the season. We're seeing Otto Stenberg play with
Mace McTavish. Darius what is not only your thoughts on this but an injury update coming
through on one player in particular in Tyler Tucker who will be out and being re-evaluated.
It's not day-to-day it's going to be longer and his potential of getting knocked out of this lineup.
Yeah obviously this team when you're looking back at last year is a lot deeper this year right you
have a lot of really good young talent that are looking to make that jump to take that next step
and Theo Lindstein is a guy that obviously comes to mind we've covered him the last couple days
and Jim Montgomery seems to love him so I you know it looked like he was going to make the team and
that may have just solidified it and tough luck for a guy that you know we both like here on the
channel and Tyler Tucker that is for sure but that has seriously diminished his chances of you know
maybe not making the team you may end up still on the team but definitely you know finding a spot in
the everyday lineup you may end up being a seventh maybe eighth defenseman at this point and we'll
get into what that kind of looks like including obviously a trade update as well and more in
depth on what the plan is for the Blues later on in this episode but guys training camp is
you know almost done which is crazy because it just started and another year of Blues hockey
is here and that means we're all getting a little bit older a new year is here and one of the
strangest things about getting older is that your recovery your focus your energy all of that type
of stuff is not what it used to be and it's a gradual decline that is you know so subtle that
you barely notice it until it's simply too late and that is exactly where Mars Men comes into
play Mars Men is made with eight clinically dosed ingredients including vitamin d zinc boron and a
few others and it's made to naturally support testosterone energy and stamina now I've noticed
personally for those of you who don't know on the channel I like to stay active I like to play
sports I play in a lot of men's leagues Mark I know you do as well and recovery is a lot harder
now as we're continuing to get older it's not like you're 12 years old anymore and you can pop a
orange slices or have a Gatorade and you're back to it you're back on the street playing and all
that fun stuff it's not the same anymore it really helps with recovery and hey if you really don't
like it they do have a guaranteed 90 day money back guarantee but right now listeners and viewers
of Blues Digest can get 50% off for life that's right for life and three free gifts including
free shipping at checkout when you go to men go to mars that is a men go to mars.com right now

longtime supporters here on the channel really appreciate it and hey it's a great product and
again for anyone if you're staying active which by the way men please take care of your health
um you know it's a great product as well but again back to Tyler Tucker I think it's an
interesting storyline and we know you know injuries happen in camp all the time Mark and
this is just another one that happened this year but I think it again has pretty big implications
on you know what the plan is moving forward because we got some insight this morning into
what the plan is with this team because we were all under the assumption I think that
they were going to start to move off some players because that's just what most other teams that
have this many extras are doing around the league and I think that goes straight into like you said
Elliott Freeman where he spoke on 32 thoughts speaking on the St. Louis Blues one thing I kind
of heard is that St. Louis for example they have a bunch of NHL guys who are kind of in the bottom
six and not all of them are going to make the team and I don't think the Blues let it be known
that if you want some NHL depth deeper in your roster who guys who've played we have extra so
the Blues don't seem keen on trading any of the guys series which in one site hey if you can get
more assets go get them but I also love it because like you've seen with Tyler Tucker a lot of these
guys deal with injuries we know the St. Louis Blues was plagued with them last year as well
so now this is a team that wants to hold their depth a team that yes you might lose some guys
to waivers but a deep team looking up you suitor who we're going to highlight a very good player
playing top six in Vancouver at 1.2 years ago on your fourth line you have guys like Oscar
Scudden's quiz you have Nathan Walker there's so many bodies within this organization and Darius
I don't know if you feel different but I kind of like the sense that Alex Dean is saying hey
we have guys they're healthy guys they want to get into this lineup if anything happens we have
someone hungry and ready to take that spot yeah and I think that when you look at the lineup and
the reserves too I say the reserves like Springfield or whatever the plan is for some of these players
they're going to carry extras every team always does and they did last year too but when you're
looking at you know Springfield too there's a lot of guys like Sunquist like Nathan Walker
for example they're not going to trade guys like that they like them they're character guys
and working with Steve on some of the younger players and like you outlined even with Tyler
Tucker injuries happened last year injuries happen you're going to need these guys so
I kind of like it from that perspective in terms of hey these are really good quality character
guys that we want to keep in the organization we're not looking to move off them just because
their bodies because injuries happen we'd rather keep our guys that we're comfortable with and what
assets are you going to get for them anyway maybe a draft pick what are you going to do with that
draft pick anyway you want to keep some of these guys especially Walker and Sunquist I know a lot
of you guys in the comments you know big fan the Blues fans in general love Nathan Walker all right
like you do not want to trade that guy so it just makes sense keep them around the organization
you'll see them at some point during the season there's two extra games this season you're going
to need to use your depth and there's injuries are going to happen we're already seeing them in
training camp around the league never mind just the Blues so I think that it makes a lot of sense
now Mark before you wrap up I want to throw it back over to you because you know Suter this is
a big thing you know this season too when you're talking about depth this guy's slotted to play on
the fourth line obviously the Blues played tonight we're going to get a look at some of the other
players and that top line which is very exciting too in in-game action today but what are your
thoughts on Suter here because you know this is a major storyline going into this season I think as
well and I think the biggest thing with Suter as well yes it's a guy that's going to play fourth
line yes you're paying him a hefty contract but at the end of the day the Blues are kind of grace
with skill on each and every line looking at you Suter yes you're paying him four mil on the season
but hey if you don't need the cap space why not load it up looking at Puce I mean going through
13 goals last year 25 goals with the Vancouver Canucks you can see somewhere around 15 to 25
goals season after season Darius when you're matching up against other teams there's not a
lot of teams that have someone that can bring that offensive power to that fourth line and looking
at the Blues it's going to be a really hard line to play against when you're matched up against
the fourth line with Puce Suter and some skill and size around him but I think the biggest thing is
a lot of these guys can play up and down the lineup you have Puce Suter that played top line
minutes before he can play wing center he can jump around even looking at other guys in that Jake
Neighbors range where he can jump up you have Otto Stenberg that can make the jump from the AHL
Justin Carvino is biting at the heels I truly think there's so much talent here and you don't
want to trade out fan favorites Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy oi oi oi why trade out Nathan Walker when he can
be a big part moving forward for this team let us know your thoughts on everything from Freeman's
Report let us know your thoughts on this team heading in who do you think the extras are going
to be would you trade any of these guys let us know your thoughts down in the comments
