Days in My Life in Japan|IKEA Shopping, Apartment Update, Homebody Diaries
Today, I will be going to IKEA.
I need a new rug, and I've researched online, but I still want to see it in person to make a decision, so
I'm going to go look at some potential items.
I wanted to check some other items, too, so it's good timing.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to come home before it gets dark and install what I bought today!
It’s time to head out to IKEA!
I sometimes got asked about this purple shirt. This is thrifted.
And I got it from the store called, “okinimesmamani.”
Let’s go-!
I will bring a small snack and eat it in the car.
Ta-da!
My friend who went to Kanazawa sent it to me as a souvenir.
This is my favorite snack.
Kurumi is a small walnut shell-shaped “Monaka” with a sweet bean paste and a walnut inside!
It seems to be a well-known snack in Kanazawa.
I was going to visit Kanazawa last April, but I couldn’t make it… Hope I will be there soon.
First, we will grab coffee!
The oat milk latte from Blue Bottle Coffee is my all-time favorite latte.
I spoke with the barista about the camera, and it was a fun time!
They made a pretty latte-art, but it disappeared while I was carrying it with the lid on.
Let’s head for IKEA!
I was thinking about getting a driver's license a while back, but I decided to specialize as a passenger after all.
Arrived at Tsuruhama IKEA in Osaka!
We both are hungry, so let’s eat lunch first.
The food at IKEA is pretty delicious.
It’s such a nice weather!
I wondered whether to order lasagna or curry, but I chose the latter.
I thought the plates had been changed to disposable, but it was for maintenance on the dishwashing machine.
The wrap he ordered was also delicious. And we shared the plant balls.
I was also blinded by the mango parfait, but it was too much food, so I passed this time.
My first choice rug is not what I expected, and the others are out of stock.
(Just so you know, the website mentions whether it’s in stock or not, and we didn't check it before…)
I thought I was going to give up here, but we decided to head to IKEA in Kobe (at this point, I gave up on my goal to install it on this day).
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd gone IKEA hopping.
Arrived at Kobe IKEA and got what we were looking for.
Glad we came.
Let’s go home!
I’ll be making a matcha latte that I haven’t made for a long time at home.
I prefer my drinks hot, but it's a hot day today, so I went with ice.
Always brownish breakfast. (Soy yogurt with granola, camu camu berry, and chia seed.)
Using a hair straightener takes a long time, and it's hot, so I'm tying my hair more often these days.
These are what I got from IKEA yesterday!
First, a rug for the living room.
And I will be putting it from now on.
This frame is for the puzzle that I did a while ago.
Picked a silver one.
This is a mat to put down in front of the entrance to the cat litter box(sold as a bath mat).
I bought two new ones.
These bins are for multiple kinds of koji that I will make them later.
I bought a larger version of the Tupperware I originally had.
And these are lids.
Towels that my husband picked. I don’t know what these are for. (I asked what it was for, but I forgot.)
This is a storage bag that you put your blankets away in.
That is all!
First, pull out the dining room rug we've been using.
I've decided to move the white rug that's currently in the living room to the dining room because
The cats have been tearing it up so much that it's producing a lot of dust!
This rug is from Journal Standard Furniture, and I really liked it.
I think it lasted a long time compared to how much the cats have attacked, so thank you!
Why did I put chairs on this rug that I need to move?
This white rug is also from IKEA.
I really want to buy a cool vintage rug and use it carefully for a long time, but
In this house with two naughty cats and a human who spills drinks all over the place,
only a rug should be affordable!
I think it's a little too white, but that's OK!
This stain is from a spilled latte.
I should have spilled it more boldly and made it look like a pattern anyway.
Let’s unbox a new rug.
I thought the long pile might not be good for this season, but it feels nice to the touch, and I like it!
With the previous white rug, the whole living room was too blurry by the white and light gray color, so
I wanted something with a pattern or color that would accentuate it.
But I didn't want it to be too childish, so it wasn't easy to keep that in mind!
I wouldn't say I like it to be too simple, but too colorful would be unsettling.
My husband and I think it simple to get the color just right for us.
I sometimes get asked about interior design references, but I don't have any particular reference for the overall interior design.
I just try not to be affected by trends, don't think too hard, and do it freely.
It's like you can put whatever you want and see what kind of balance you get.
So it often happens that it is not what I expected/imagined (especially the color of this floor sheet), but
We are trying to create a space that we like by adding other things.
The texture of the rug is so wonderful. I hope the cats will like it, too.
Other items will be washed and stored!
Came home from the grocery!
It was too hot outside, so I will change into cooler clothes.
I found Somen & Udon noodles that are made with rice flour!
Also got a junky ramen, too! The balance is important!
Let's start making lunch with Somen noodles.
Last summer, I ate cold tomato noodles so often that I thought they were a staple food.
I don't remember how to make it, especially the ingredients.
I think I made it with tomato puree, gochujang, agave syrup, and water.
Looks delicious!
Baby Nagi-chan took my chair.
Yummy! It's nice to eat it when it's hot, like today!
I forgot to install the frame I bought from IKEA.
I couldn't find the right size for the puzzle and it's going to be quite large.
It's still too big, and the base paper isn't the right size, so I'm going to stick it on a piece of paper that I'll probably throw away.
It seems Ila already likes this rug!
Ta-da! It's a little tilted, but I don't care.
I wonder where to put this.
I'm feeling good today, so I'm editing yesterday's footage.
I want to post videos as soon as possible after filming.
Thank you always for your sweet comments and reactions!
The dinner tonight is Hayashi-rice.
I don't use ready-made roux, but it’s an easy and yummy recipe!
Sautee onions, carrots, mushrooms, and shimeji well.
Add the red wine until the ingredients are covered and simmer.
Simmer plenty until the alcohol of the wine evaporates! (about for 10 mins)
Tomate puree and tomato ketchup.
Agave syrup and soy sauce a little.
Haccho-miso and then simmer until the sourness of the tomatoes disappears.
Done!
I always cook it with eyeballing, so it always tastes different, but it's always yummy!
My skincare routine after the bath.
(I'm not used to getting it focused.)
These are my recent favorite skin care products.
Once, when my skin irritated, I used only petroleum jelly, and it healed so fast. Since then, I often use petroleum jelly to moisturize my skin.
“The Ethics of Time and Boredom” by Koichiro Kokubun, which my friend recommended to me.
It’s pretty thick, the letters are small, and it seems too difficult. I hadn’t had enough energy to read it, but now I’m starting!
Nagi is hugging her favorite toy.
It’s not as difficult as I thought! And it’s so interesting!
I find that It is like nourishment for my brain with new discoveries and realizations.
Thank you for watching🖼️
