Well, not only is this girl absolutely gorgeous, like enough for me to push past everyone else in the room to come talk to her, but then she's hilarious, super engaging, open, friendly, and a Christian. And it was just like, where have you been? We always joke he's a success story of the friend zone. We really were. We grew to be best friends. Then when we did start dating, it was unlike anything we had both ever experienced. I had such a genuinely fun time that I hadn't had with someone like ever. He is the most incredible person I've ever met. How she listens to me, how she loves me is better than anyone's ever. We genuinely like, we just love spending time with each other. She's my best friend. We, I come home and we spend the next four hours laughing. We were, we were made for each other, which is really cool. I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and who I'm like completely madly in love with. We got engaged and then two weeks later, I deployed to Afghanistan for nine months, 11 hour time difference and 7,000 miles away. And it was hard. And it's just coming back from that and coming back and just running into each other's arms in slow motion was the coolest thing in the world. And just finally being back together with the other side It really did feel like no one else was there. I felt like when he finally was holding me, I just felt complete. Like I felt like this is, this is where I belong. My, my, I felt like my heart was, was back and I was, I was all back together again. Andrew, my heart, take a deep breath. Today is the day. I truly grew to love you as my friend first, which I think is such a gift, and when I prayed for you, God directed my heart toward you to love you the way that he intended me to. Asking you to be my wife was the easiest thing I've ever done, and leaving you for nine months just two weeks later was the hardest thing I've ever done, but you stood by me faithfully every single long day, and I love you more for it. I truly heard him speak to me. I didn't believe that I didn't believe that someone as godly and funny and intelligent and goofy with an abnormally weird obsession with Taco Bell would fall for a girl like me. I was still recovering from a really tough relationship that made me feel ugly and unworthy, and you showed me that that was never true. I never thought I would find someone who not only would choose and love me, but also love God even more. In every moment I've ever thought that I might be unlovable, you have loved me harder. You truly love me deeper and more selflessly than anyone. Most importantly, I love your heart for Jesus and your walk with him. You are more honest and genuine in your faith than anyone I know. You have the kindest heart, and I can't wait to take you to see the world, to see the northern lights, or snorkel off Great Barrier Reef, or raise kids in our own backyard. You make my life an adventure, and turn Costco runs into epic quests. I can't believe you are such a blessing from God. I am so lucky to grow old with my best friend. I was forming my response, and she's bolt. She's in her driveway. She's serpentining. I don't know if it was helping, but she was doing it. At that moment, though, I had a flashback. It was 2005. Mom and I, I don't know where Andrew and Walker were at the moment, but Mom and I were staring out of our garage door in Laurel, Mississippi, and we're staring at our brand-new Toyota Sienna. There's about golf ball size hail coming down the middle of the summer. Mom bolts out one-handed, and she's dipping and dodging. Again, apparently, you can dodge hail. I didn't know that, but Mom gets to the van, and she one-handed squeezes inside and gets into our garage. I kind of flashed back to the present, and I saw Ashley pulling into her driveway and getting out and going about her day just like Mom did when she got back in. I kind of realized that these women are very similar. They're both warriors. They're both fearless. They're very bold. That's just among many, many other things. I chose this story because in that moment, I knew that there was no one else more perfect for my brother and my best friend. You truly are one of the most fearless and kindest people I've ever met. You have one of the best parts, and I could go story after story about that, but I just want you to know that I couldn't be happier to be gaining a sister today and a thunder buddy for life after the great hailstorm of 2018. Andrew, you've always been my biggest fan, and I've always been yours. Every day growing up, I've always looked up to you. You've been one of my biggest role models, if not the biggest, in my life, and I will never stop looking up to you as my big brother. You two as a couple epitomize what love should be.
