We rolling?
Guys, we have a huge problem.
Here in the backyard, I have this abandoned swamp
that is full of nasty muck, mud,
and the worst part is there is some huge creature
living here, possibly some kind of pond or swamp monster.
And it's not supposed to look like this.
Guys, check this out.
This is what that area's supposed to look like.
It's supposed to be this beautiful, amazing lake
here at the Team RAR house where we jet ski,
we swim, and we have fun.
But over here, it's disgusting.
Let's go to the shore edge.
So the other day I was out here,
I saw something crazy swimming in the water.
I couldn't even understand what it was.
It was nasty.
It was gross.
And it kind of looked like a snake.
It kind of looked like a fish or a turtle,
but I can guarantee you it was none of those things.
It was something way grosser.
Guys, the mud that we have here is serious.
This is like a crazy abandoned swamp.
Like actually, it's disgusting.
We have a little bit of water right here
and there are nasty things.
Zoom in on that.
We have some crazy creatures living in there.
It is really gross.
Look at all that movement.
And that's not even the worst part, guys.
There is something much bigger living
in the depths of this abandoned swamp.
It's not a snake.
It's not a turtle.
It's something way bigger.
Oh my gosh.
Guys, is that it right there?
Oh my gosh.
Oh, oh, oh my gosh, guys.
I told you, I told you.
That is what I'm after.
This is the problem.
This is why you can't have abandoned swamps
just sitting in your backyard.
I mean, I literally live just up the hill right here.
The fact that this is just a few feet away from my house
in a crazy, like what even was that?
It's living in this nasty swamp.
I can't even imagine any creature would wanna live
and prefer the nastiness of this swamp.
Like where did it even go?
Let's get another picture of this thing.
Like what is that?
Ew.
It's under the muck.
I literally think it's just sitting in there.
My goal is to solve this issue before it gets any worse
because I do not want a swamp monster
just living in this abandoned swamp right in my backyard.
And the best plan to do it,
because I don't think catching whatever is in there
is going to be too easy,
is to just literally remove this entire abandoned swamp
so there's no place for a swamp monster to hide.
And if you're wondering how I can do that,
well, guys, I'm Carter Sharer.
We are at the Team Rar House.
We have some big, crazy machines
over here on the deep side of the Team Rar House.
So let's head on over here
and let's fire up the diesel equipment.
We got the excavator and the dump truck.
And we're gonna try to find this thing
because I have a history with pond monsters before
and I don't want this thing to fester, to grow.
So what we're gonna do
is we're gonna take matter into my own hands
once and for all, not let this go on for years and years.
And we're simply just gonna dig this thing out.
And boy, do we got the claw for it.
Bolt start, perfect.
This Mini X is essentially a giant shovel
and I am literally gonna use this to dig
and completely remove this swamp from my backyard.
It's not the fastest machine in the world,
but we got it, we made it.
And we are at the swampy little puddle.
This is where we would see that crazy looking thing.
And so here's my plan.
You can see how low and gross and swampy and messy this is.
What we're basically gonna be doing
is we're just gonna be cleaning it up
all the while looking to see
if we can find any crazy creatures.
We're gonna be loading this swampy runoff mud
into the back of the dump truck so we don't make a mess,
take it out to the motocross track
where it'll ultimately become
literally just another dirt bike jump, which is perfect.
So it's a win-win situation
and we're gonna clean this up and make it look prettier.
And you can see guys, there are all kinds of creatures.
Look at these prints.
That is a paw print of some kind.
And there's other ones right here in the mud.
You can see critters everywhere,
but when we are done, every scoop we do
is basically gonna allow this to fill with more water
and be less muddy.
So it's gonna be less nasty like this.
Since we're moving a lot of mud,
we gotta make sure our dump truck is in the right spot.
Bring it straight back and stop.
So now it is time to climb up into this thing.
Let's fire it up and let's get a scoop of this muck
and see what kind of monsters we find.
We need to bring the excavator
as close to the shoreline as we can,
but this is where things get risky.
This machine is huge, hard to control, and super touchy.
One wrong move, too close to the edge,
and it could slide straight into the water.
Here we go for the first scoop.
Look at all the creatures.
Goodness, it's so gross.
Oh, this is so nasty.
Here we go, big splat.
Oh my gosh, I got splatted on all the way out here.
I definitely put the blast shield down.
That is disgusting.
That was only a single scoop.
Gives you guys an idea just how much work I need to do.
Wow, you are covered completely in mud as well.
This stuff is so sloppy.
It is no joke.
And I need to get the dump truck a little bit closer
because I can't reach as far as the big boy.
We need to go through and try to scoop out
as much of that slop,
and you can see how deep the slop is.
The slop is literally about as deep as that bucket,
maybe more, and it's just dying to be scooped out.
And this is the perfect habitat for a crazy monster.
Oh my gosh, hang on, I think I see it.
Oh my gosh, I think it is.
Guys, there it is.
It's in the mud.
Ew, look at that thing.
What the heck is that?
Oh, where did it go?
Something about swimming down
into this hole right here, guys,
it likes to be down in there.
That is so weird.
So now I gotta do a lot more scoops
and dig a bunch of mud.
And as we dig, I wanna keep an eye
on all the crazy critters that we might find.
This abandoned pond is connected
to the other side of the Team Roar Lake
through an underground culvert pipe.
Before we can dig it out,
we need to build a temporary mud dam
to stop the lake water from flowing in
and filling this side back up while we work.
Each scoop is stirring the mud up,
making the swamp even more muddy.
I have to keep a careful eye out
for the swamp monster,
as I know it's hiding somewhere in here.
This mud is extremely messy
and is covering the dump truck
in a thick layer of mud,
so I have to be careful with every scoop.
Okay, this was crazy.
Check out what I'm doing.
I came up with a really cool technique.
So when you're digging out a pond like this,
it's always best, oh, there's a crazy creature.
There's a funny, ew, oh my gosh, look at this.
Guys, there is a crazy bug right here.
Right there, guys, that's a mud bug.
I don't know what kind of bug that is,
but that is one of the many weird creatures in here.
You can see there's like tadpoles
or other weird creatures floating around in here.
Oh my gosh, right here.
Guys, this one literally has legs.
Is it a fish?
Is it a tadpole?
Oh, that's another mud bug.
Or is it a crayfish?
I don't know what these critters are, guys.
There are some crazy stuff.
You can see as I'm digging,
I haven't even reached the bottom yet.
The bottom of that is the actual true bottom,
which means all of this stuff I'm digging out
is not supposed to be in here.
This is all slop.
The real color of the bottom is this brown stuff,
which you can see, I just barely stirred up right there,
but all of this slop I'm digging out
is years and years and years of runoff,
dead leaves, dead sticks,
and a bunch of things just decomposing in here.
So digging this out is gonna make it so healthy.
And what I did is I dammed up right here
to prevent the lake from backwashing in
because there is a pipe underwater right here
that will fill this in.
So as I'm digging, we can actually see the bottom
and not have water covering it,
which is gonna be really nice.
And then the last step, once it's all dug out,
is to break this dam just by digging it out
and all the pond water, fresh, blue, beautiful water,
will backwash and fill this in just a matter of minutes,
making this the blue, perfect oasis
that it's always meant to be.
But it hasn't been in many, many years
because of all this disgusting slop.
There are so many critters in here,
but still no sign of the giant pond monster thing
that was living in here.
Still don't know what that is.
I think we need to, oh, no way.
There's an egg.
That is legit an egg, guys.
So there is some crazy critter that just hatched
that laid eggs.
There is a chance we did scoop it out
and it is in the back.
I haven't seen exactly what we dug,
but here is everything.
That's just some of the dirt, years of debris.
It's crazy how much of this junk
can end up in the bottom of your pond.
And we need to go dump this.
So now we need to hop into the dump truck,
drive this far, far away,
so we can come back and continue our beautiful work
where we dredge this out
and make this pond monster and slop free.
What the heck?
Guys, something just moved.
Something big, kind of sticking out like crap.
And look at that huge spider right there, guys.
Huge spider.
Some kind of fish.
Look at all of this life just looming in here.
Look at the amount of minnows that are swarming this.
Absolutely infested, guys.
No wonder a monster would like to live right in here
and just come up and eat all of these things every day.
Look at that.
I think I hit the dump truck with the excavator.
Look at that.
Hopefully I can just pull the dump truck away
and there's no damage,
but I literally drove the excavator
and crashed it into the dump truck.
Let's see if this fixes it.
Oh, she is a heavy load, guys.
I forgot just how heavy the pond slop can be.
It's holding so much moisture
and it's so wet that it's so heavy.
This isn't even the biggest load,
but oh man, it takes so much throttle
just to get this thing moving.
This is crazy.
We're going for a big sloppy dump.
Let the fun begin, guys.
Running the dump truck is gonna be great.
We're gonna get a really good look
of all the slop we just got.
Step forward a little bit.
I'll put this all the way down.
That unlocks the tailgate and now we dump.
Oh, it's already slopping out the rear.
I can hear it.
Oh, look at that.
It's already, it's basically, oh, careful.
Look, ow, ew, ew, ah, ooh.
Let's hurry up and dump this thing.
This is such a gross, sloppy load.
I bet there's a pond monster in here.
Here we go.
So first off, check it out.
It was so nasty and slippery.
Take a look at this stuff.
Oh my goodness.
So this stuff is incredible
because it comes out so sloppy.
It's so crazy saturated wet,
but it's going to ultimately dry
into what we can shape into a dirt bike track.
That's exactly what all of these dumps out here,
they were once dug out of the sloppiest,
nasty stuff at the bottom of the pond.
See, right here, guys, this orange stuff is clay.
This is my target.
If I hit a little bit of this,
it means we finally hit the natural bottom of the pond,
but everything else that I scooped that isn't orange,
which is almost all of this,
is old, decomposing leaves, runoff, sticks,
and bugs, and nasty, gross things.
Look at that, and it just wants to splash.
It's being so sloppy.
But the real question is, is that crazy thing we saw,
did I dig it out, and is it in this pile?
I want to take a closer look
and look a little closer at this slop,
this muddy pond sludge slop,
and see if I can find anything.
Whoa, what the heck?
Guys, what is that?
Ew, guys, what the heck is that?
Was I seeing something?
That is disgusting, guys.
I don't know if that is what I was thinking,
but that is super weird.
I have dug a lot of this pond slop out before,
and I have not seen it either this dark in color
or those weird things we just saw.
I'm getting a little worried,
but I want to head back to the excavator.
I want to keep digging,
because I don't want to leave that pond
half finished and half unattended.
So let's hop back up into the dump truck,
and let's drive back there and keep on digging
and see what else we can find,
because I have a feeling there's a lot more stuff to get.
Let's go put her in drive.
And we are off.
It already feels so much lighter.
We got a big monster truck right here.
We got a squeeze by the monster truck.
It is so big, so cool.
And now we can go back from the motocross track
to the nasty, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Let's go.
Turbocharged diesel.
Whoa, hey.
A little too fast there.
Okay, we are back.
I think the goal now is to move this down to there,
start digging out this area as we go closer to the fence,
and then that side over there,
and then we'll finish up with the hotspot
where the monster might be.
If we haven't gotten it yet, and if it's still in here,
it's probably right in this puddle
or right in my dam that I made,
which will be the last stop.
So let's hop right back up into the excavator,
get her started again.
Here we go, guys.
We are digging yet again.
And this time, I'm gonna take a big swipe out of the middle.
Woo!
We're just a couple scoops away
from breaking the first dam,
which is gonna flow a bunch of water from the center
all the way to the dry spot that I'm working.
So let's check this out.
It's gonna be pretty cool.
Okay, guys, here we go.
Last scoop.
I think it's gonna break.
Yes, look at that.
That is so satisfying.
The water is flowing from the middle section
all the way across.
That is always so fun.
Now let's keep an eye out
to see if we can find any more crazy creatures
as I keep digging.
Second load is scooped up.
Oh, I don't wanna fall in.
Wow, okay.
You can see significantly now just how much deeper it was.
The whole pond was basically only
like as deep as that ledge right here.
And it's gonna be like four feet deep.
It's gonna be so cool.
And I don't know if that is something
sitting right there, guys.
I don't know what that is.
But we got a heavy load.
Super heavy.
You can see there's only a few inches left
of suspension travel there.
So this is probably loaded a little too heavy
if I had to guess.
There it is.
So sloppy, nasty.
Yeah, this is really gross.
Let's hop in this thing
and let's get one more load before dark
because this stuff is gross
and we do not want it sitting
in the back of this dump truck all night.
Let's get another fire up and let's go.
Almost at the dump site.
Gotta drive right next to the monster truck.
Oh, hang on.
And the excavator.
Ow, whoa.
Hang on, pothole.
Order up.
That was a double slop Burger Supreme super size.
That was extra sloppy.
Whoa, this pile of slop is twice as big
as the first pile of slop.
Which means I really out-slopped myself
and I was a crazy animal, crazy animal.
Crazy animal alert.
What in the world is this thing?
What the heck is that?
Some kind of salamander?
Should we pick it up?
It could be an axolotl, guys.
It could be a salamander.
I don't know what it is, but it's alive and well.
It's got tiny feet.
He's covered in mud.
I don't know if we have axolotls
that live in this country or this state,
but it certainly looks like one.
I think we need to bring it back home,
wash it off, and reintroduce it back into a new habitat
because he's not gonna like living out here
at the motocross track.
But that is another crazy animal
and something is also just popped up under there.
Here we go for the scoop.
Very carefully, we got this guy.
Oh my gosh, careful.
What the heck is this thing?
So crazy.
Come on, little guy, let's go.
The critter is secured.
Let's bring him into the dump truck to get him home.
I'm telling you guys,
I knew there was some crazy, weird creatures.
There's something moving in there last time.
I think there's more where this came from.
I wanna figure what this is
because I think this might just be a baby
of something that's a lot bigger.
I have no idea, but let's just get it home, okay?
Hang on, one-way stop.
We gotta get this crazy creature home.
Careful now, hold tight.
We are hauling butt to get back.
We got this little critter just in the cab covered in mud.
We're about to figure out what it is
and potentially save its life.
Bear with me now.
We made it to the lake edge.
We're gonna rinse this guy off and see what he is.
All right, we can see it.
Let's go for the little dunk.
Let's give him a little bath.
What the heck is he?
Oh, careful now.
Oh my goodness, guys, there he is.
It's a little crazy lizard or salamander or something.
I'm not sure what he is,
but he's got the cutest little eyes.
This honestly could be a baby
that just hatched out of that egg
and could grow into a big monster.
Okay, let's put him in the water.
And there he goes, guys.
We may learn to regret putting this little guy in
because I have a feeling that is just a baby
and it gets much bigger.
And the thing that we were after from the very beginning,
it kind of makes sense.
It wasn't a snake and it wasn't a fish,
something in between.
And that kind of fits the description
of being long and skinny and not a fish and not a snake.
I don't know if that thing's gonna grow
to another giant size,
but I still haven't found the big thing I'm after.
I don't know if it's out in the mud
or if we have yet to scoop it up,
but we have a lot more work to do.
Wow, guys, this looks seriously deep from this side.
If that excavator slid in,
it would be like halfway underwater.
So this is actually gonna be a rather deep pond.
I gotta make sure when I dig it out,
I do the right job here.
Just, I'm hearing something.
I think we might have something going on over here.
There is a lot of strange noises coming from this area, guys.
It's getting late.
I don't wanna be out here and find something too scary.
Oh, yep.
Guys, there is definitely things going on over there.
A lot of movement.
Let's get out of here.
It's too dark, guys.
I'm gonna call it a night
and we're gonna pick this up first thing in the morning.
