how to make a zine

Hi everyone, it's Jordan. In this video, I'm showing you how to make a zine. And if you've never heard of this, it's basically a mini magazine that you collage together and then you can make copies of it for all your friends. So we'll start with an 8.5 by 11 piece of paper and then fold that in half lengthwise. And then fold it in half again. And finally, one more time in half. After it's folded, open it up and use scissors to cut a little hole in the top. And then cut through the two middle boxes. Then follow what I do on screen to fold it back into a little booklet. Use page flags to mark the front and back page as well as the inside pages so when you open it back up, you know which page is which. From here, just decorate your zine however you want. You can come up with a theme for your book or just make every page different. It's totally up to you. If you wanted to, you could make it a book of your own writing or drawings or just collage pretty pictures for a cute little inspiration book. When you finish decorating the pages, you can fold up the zine again. And then if you want to make copies of it to pass out to your friends, you can just use your scanner or any photocopier to make copies. And you'll just fold up the copied zine just like you did with the original. You can make a bunch of copies to pass out to all your friends at school or you can send one in your next penpal letter.
